  1. You're welcome! You will be fine. My surgery only took 15 minutes and I've had no major complications.

  2. Nothing will work unless you do. - John Wooden Even though you may not "feel" like working out, just do it. Do something if it's no more than going for a walk with family or friends. You'll be amazed at how that in and of itself will give you the motivation to do more because it makes you feel so good. Keep your head up, you're doing great!
  3. Oh, I cannot say enough about restriction and the importance of it. My only complaint is that I continue to experience a mild discomfort where my band is around the stoma that seems to be pretty constant. I'm not overly restricted and I chew foods quite well so I'm not sure what the issue can be. Any thoughts?

You will be fine no matter the degree of pain you may experience. Know that everyone's recovery varies from person to person. I noticed the post prior to mine that said she had surgery on Friday and was back to work on Monday...there is NO way I would have been able to do that and not because I had such difficulty, but because I was truly in pain and took my pain meds for a week or more. On top of it, I found it very difficult to find a comfortable position to sleep as I am a stomach/side sleeper. One side felt fine the other felt like my insides were going to fall out. The shoulder pain is quite uncomfortable. Two weeks in, I was happy about my decision, however, I cannot say I felt this way during my first week after surgery. I certainly second guessed my decision. Now, 11 months later, 63 lbs lost, I am thrilled! I say all of this to say, it's worth any amount of pain you must endure, it's but for a short season. Good luck and many blessings during this journey.
  6. RM, I just wanted to commend you on your success thus far. You've lost an incredible amount since being banded. Congrats! I feel I'm at a terrible plateau. Keep up the good work. ~HFL
  7. Please send me your recommendations for a bike with a comfortable seat and the cost. Something I can take to the trails with my DH and ride for exercise.

    Anyone tried Zumba?

What benefits have you found spin offers since you've been doing it? I have been scared to try it but I want to. I'm concerned about being able to endure 1 hour on that seat and it's intensity. I love ZUMBA, BODY PUMP, BODY JAM, BODY FLOW and AQUA AEROBICS but want to try SPIN as well. I like variety.

    Anyone tried Zumba?

YES!!! LOVE Zumba! It is fun and you feel it the next day. As a matter of fact, I haven't exercised today and I think I'll go to the basement and ZUMBA!

    What happens when you overeat?

Yes!!! I get that pain in my left shoulder. I wondered if anyone else got that. I try not to overeat as I don't like that pain or uncomfortable feeling you get.

Hey scalaholics, does this happen to you?

I do have pretty good restriction. I will try this method at lunch. I like eating Breakfast and dinner. I am stepping up the exercise routing for the next few weeks.

Hey scalaholics, does this happen to you?

I gonna try. It's actually more like 24 days, so a little more than 3 weeks. I'm gonna try really hard to at least get to 205, that's 13 lbs. I'll make that a goal and if I lose more great! Thanks!
  15. I take a liquid multi vitamin from whole foods. It's easier and I remember. I hate the grit in chewables.

Hey scalaholics, does this happen to you?

Hello, my name is health4life and I am a scaleaholic! :rolleyes2: All joking aside, I have the same problem. Every morning when I awake, my ritual is to go to the bathroom and pee and poop. When I don't poop, I am afraid to get on the scale but somehow my legs just start moving in the direction of them and somehow before you know it I'm on top of them and wala, I have my results. Now if I've eaten, pizza, chinese or foods high in sodium the night before, the scale is not so kind to me, however, if I've been a good girl, they bless me. This morning was a blessing as I weighed 218. I am trying so hard to lose 18 lbs in 3 weeks. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to best do that, aside from starving. I'm not brave enough for that diet.
  17. Keep up the good work. Typically lower carb, higher protein eating plans yeild the most weight loss. I know your feet hurt so get on a bike and ride, ride, ride and oh, don't forget the swimming pools. At the rate you're going you should have 20 lbs off by you July 2rd appt. Hang in there and remember "no pain, no gain".

My advice - Listen to JACHUT! She's an expert as far as I'm concerned. I respect her advice and opinions.

I am in agreement with your signature and praise God with and for you! Congratulations! I'm just behind you. Pray for me. I am determined to win this battle. By the way, steak has been good for me. I've absolutely NO problems with steak. Take care.

    Why You Shouldn't Eat Salad

This is a pretty rude response to someone who wasn't rude at all! Keep in mind that this forum allows us all to voice our opinions but we must do it respectfully! This response was in no way respectful. Please try to refrain from posting in a defensive and rude manner. There is NO call for it!

    Why You Shouldn't Eat Salad

Here is a prime example of someone writing a book to make money. I wish I would be an idiot and buy this book with him making a ridiculous claim about "why we shouldn't eat salad". Obsurd!!!
