This is pretty cool. I am the only one banded in the house and my husband could use this as he has a bottomless pit and has NO clue what his portion size should be.

I eat cereal on occasion. I love a bowl of cereal. My issue is with proper restriction it can be somewhat difficult eating with a liquid as it causes me to gurgle.

Any Regrets After Lap Band?
health4life replied to sammy3552's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I did have some fill in my band after surgery, however it was minimal. In the first 3 months I consistently lost on average 10 lbs. then it slowed down. I am now more than halfway to my goal. I had restriction after my 3rd fill and even had to have some removed as I was a little too restricted. You still have to work at losing weight. The band is just a tool to assist you in not over eating. So in conjuntion with the band, exercise and eating the right things, you will lose weight. -
Any Regrets After Lap Band?
health4life replied to sammy3552's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. I would be at goal or beyond now if I had. I'm over 1/2 way there and looking forward now to being under 200 lbs with only 13.3 left to reach 199.9 and I cannot wait. Best wishes in your decision making process. -
Gotcha! I was a self pay so I was oblivious to this process. Welcome to bandland.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by you started this journey with your 6 month supervised back in September but it appears you just had surgery this summer. Please explain? Thx.

First fill today--question, pls help
health4life replied to johnmordecai's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've never experienced this after a fill. I'm sure everyone is different, but it hasn't been my experience. I hope you get the answers you're looking for. -
I just noticed, we have the same Dr. How was your experience? I love Dr C and his staff.

Seems a bit ridiculous that she would take out all of what she put in and some of what was already in from surgery!!! Your first fill wasn't a fluro fill??? I wouldn't be depressed, I would be furious and would certainly be asking questions. I hope you get the answers you need to remedy this issue.

I can fasten the airplane seatbelt without a panic attack I can ride roller coasters again  -

B-2 strips bacon, 1 egg L- white rice with butter and organic raw sugar & thera flu S-caesar salad with croutons D-Chicken Noodle soup I don't feel well today. -
Ha  This had me in stiches! I work for a mortuary and embalmers sew boobs together and I told them I wanted mine duct taped instead of sewn. Totally off subject here, but that's the first thing I thought of when I saw this. Good one! On subject, my brother swears by the rebounder (mini trampoline)

It's surprising to see that no one has posted Pilates as a core exercise. It is a great way to lose the belly in conjunction with some form of cardio whether it be the treadmill, eliptical, bike etc...

What do you feel when you are full?
health4life replied to marisela10's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It's hard to describe a full or satisfied feeling. You just don't have the desire to eat anymore and if you do you're miserable. My best suggestion to you is to chew, chew and chew some more in order to prevent a PB (productive burp). Drinking ANYTHING during a stuck episode only makes the misery worse. When you get stuck, you pray for 1 of 2 things to occur, 1) It passes through the band 2) It comes up. You are miserable while stuck and all I do is walk and wait. DO NOT DRINK!!!Go ahead and eat something solid but take small bites and chew the heck out of it. -
What is PBing and Slimeing?
health4life replied to dkorn78's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Eating too fast and not chewing your food good enough is the typical reason. My restriction is greater some days and on those days I have difficulty with food selections. Others are correct when they say PB'ing is not the same as vomiting from your lower stomach as it is not acidic. It's just the food you ate that hasn't passed through the opening of the band into the lower stomach. I slimed the other day for over 30 minutes w/o PB'ing on some moo shoo pork...WRONG food selection! Lost my appetitite afterwards and didn't eat dinner. -
how private is too private?
health4life replied to kitkat61's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
WOW! I cannot relate to this situation as my husband was my greatest supporter. I don't know what I would have done without his support. I didn't tell my parents and to date, almost 1 year later, they still do not know. I didn't want them worried prior to the surgery and once I started losing weight I didn't want them to think I took the easy way out and be disappointed. I may tell them once I'm at my goal weight. I would however tell my husband whether he approved or not. He still deserves to know. -
What is PBing and Slimeing?
health4life replied to dkorn78's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
PB'ng - Productive Burp (throwing up stuck food) Sliming (slimy spit produces)- Occurs during a stuck episode and results in sliming prior to a PB the majority of the time. Just because you slime though doesn't mean you will PB. I will say that when you get stuck, you pray to PB bcuz you get immediate relief...at least I have. Best wishes on your surgery. -
I pureed wendy's chili and it was so good. Just puree it if you have a taste for chili. I also pureed chicken salad which was good also.

Getting Nervous August 18th Date
health4life replied to dkorn78's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Get a good rest tonight and best wishes. You are on the right track to a new and positive change. It's been almost a year for me and 65 lbs less, the only regret I have is that I didn't do it sooner. Enjoy and take it easy after the surgery. -

All I have to say is DANG, you kicked butt losing your weight in less than a year. I thought I was doing pretty good til I saw how much you lost. Congrats on the weight loss, sorry to hear of you slippage.

Hello my fellow Sept Samurai's. I'm not on here a lot, but check in periodically. It's good to hear you all are doing well. As for me, almost 1 year and it's unbelievable to me that I've lost 63 lbs in a year. I'm not where I desired to be after a year (-100 lbs), but I'm certainly not where I was almost a year ago! I too have hit a major plateau and am looking for ANY suggestions on how to get past it. I know changing exercise routines and increasing intensity helps. I have great restriction, so food is not an issue. I would love to be at 70 lbs weight loss by my anniversary date of Sept 2nd and I will be working hard to achieve that goal. That's 7 lbs and surely I can lose that by Sept 2. I may do a really good cleanse and possibly do a body ecology diet. I'm quite sure that will help me meet that goal. Keep up the good work everyone and I'll check in again around my band anniversary.

NOW I am too tight but should I rush to the dr?
health4life replied to kplant's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You know, I've been in for the is reason because I thought maybe I was over restricted, but I am still having the discomfort and know I'm not over restricted. They did a fluro xray and saw nothing and even said I wasn't over restricted but took .5 out just in case and I still feel restricted. I will ask my surgeon directly. So do you not ever feel any mild discomfort at all even around your port area? The discomfort is around my sternum area, you are right. Thanks for your help. ~HFL
