Considering Dr. Trace W. Curry or Dr. Brad Watkins in OHIO."Which One"?
health4life posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I am considering a couple of Dr.'s in Cincinatti, OH; Dr. Trace W. Curry or Dr. Brad Watkins. I am looking for individuals who have been banded by these Dr.'s and would like for you to share your experiences, both good and bad as well as suggested questions I should ask during the upcoming seminar I am attending. I'm looking for the best support pre and post op. Please give any and all experiences as well as opinions that will help me make my decision. Thanks. -

Hi Leknigh, Thanks for the reply. I went to the seminar today, had my consult, nutrition seminar and psyc. eval. next Tue and Wed, surgery scheduled for September 2nd. I really enjoyed everyone I spoke with today. How did you do on the 2 week pre op medifast diet? How much did you lose, if any, pre op? -
If you have had lap band which restricts the amount of food it can hold in order for you to feel full, what affect will drinking the daily required amount of water have? Any?

Things I won't/don't miss about being Obese
health4life replied to MissWilde's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Things I won't miss and look forward to ~ I won't miss wearing a girdle because thighs rub together  I won't miss shopping at ANY plus size store (Lane Bryant, Avenue, Asheley Stewart) I won't miss Walking by a mirror and shaking my head at myself and thinking how disgusting and unattractive I am. I won't miss dropping food on my top cause my boobs are in the way I won't miss fearing having to ask for a seat belt extension on the airplane I won't miss my nieces hugging me and saying "juicy juicy" (innocent) I won't miss avoiding going to events with my husband I won't miss running into old friends who either don't recognize me or say "girl you've gained weight" I won't miss not being able to wear cute sylish shoes cause my feet are too wide and swollen I won't miss not having any energy Things I look forward to ~ I look forward to going to school with my daughter and the kids telling her "your mom is pretty" Comfortably wearing a cute bathing suit in public Wearing short (which I avoid) Getting a convertible 2 seater and feeling like I can get in and out without looking like I stuffed my self in it. Wearing cute sexy lingere I'm looking so forward to using this tool to become a healthier, happier me. -

What has weight kept you from doing?
health4life replied to Blessed1's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hmmmm, where do I start. It's kept me from crossing my legs, riding roller coasters at amusement parks which I LOVE to do, looking really cute and sexy, (although my husband tells me I do) I've never been able to really play with my daughter now 16 for which I feel guilty, I avoid business luncheons and dinners with my husband, I'm scared to death of going on another plane after having to ask for a seat belt extension. That was the most humiliating thing I've experienced. I actually had my husband go get it for me, but I already had people looking at the fact that I couldn't fasten the seat belt and pretty much broke out in a cold sweat from embarrassment. Need I go on. I am attending a seminar on Saturday and hope to be banded by September 08. Yall pray for me. -

What do you do with the fat that comes off the hamburger? Is it absorbed by the mashed potatoes? Just curious. -

COLONICS after LAP BAND SURGERY
health4life replied to health4life's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Oh by the way, with the mucoid plaque cleanse, my wellness center has examples of what came out of a client. I saw it and was amazed that such crap could be inside of a persons intestines and colon. Also, on a funny note, I went in to do a colonic one day and the owner asked me if I I was ready to go "POOP"! LOL -
Is colonics safe after lap band surgery? I go to a great clinic that offers much more than just colonics in Indianapolis and I would ideally like to continue.

COLONICS after LAP BAND SURGERY
health4life replied to health4life's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
There is also a mucoid plaque cleanse and the so easy cleanse which are different from the colonic bed, with Water tank. I have enclosed a photo so you can see the equipment. The first 2 cleanses are things you can do at home. I've not done the home remedy, but I'm going to do it in conjunction with colonics. It's the greatest feeling and once you have them regularly, your body tells you when you need one. It is recommended to do 2 back to back and then 1 per week for the next 6 weeks then back off to 1 every 2 to 3 months. It's wonderful. -

COLONICS after LAP BAND SURGERY
health4life replied to health4life's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It doesn't hurt at all. A small rectal nozzle is inserted at the entrance of the rectum that disperses warm water into your colon that helps with constipation, diarrhea, acute fecal impaction, colitis, diverticulosis, parasitic, infections, a toxic colon, bowel stimulation, flatulence or bloating, mild hemorrhoids, and intestinal toxemia. The clinic offers other services as well. If you would like to see what services they offer their website is Welcome to Cleansing Waters, Indianapolis, Colonic Hydrotherapy, Detox Foot Spa, Body Ecology Diet I love the SOQI BED and want the Ionized Water system. Check it out. Colonics is the BEST!!! -

LOL, I love how you named your city, cause when I drive through there heading to Denver, that's exactly how I feel. Your post is such an inspiration to me. I am still in the research stages. I live in Indianapolis, IN but contemplating surgery in Ohio because there seems to be much more support there for lap banders. I'm having trouble finding people with GREAT success stories about lap banding and positive experiences with Dr.'s here in Indy which concerns me. Keep up the GREAT work. -

Awe, thanks! Congratulations and I wish you much success with your new band. What are the steps you followed to get to the point you're at now. I'm trying to figure out how long it might take me to get the surgery scheduled from the time I attend the seminar? I am very anxious to have it done. Although I haven't attended any seminar, I have done an enormous amount of research. I live in Indianapolis but don't feel quite comfortable with what I've seen thus far with respect to those individuals that have had it done here and certainly no rants and raves about Dr.'s who perform the surgery here. I'm seeing an abundant amount of rants and raves about Dr.'s there in the Cinci. area and it's only and hop, skip and jump from Indy. Be sure to let me know how your surgery goes tomorrow. Well wishes to you! -

Leona06, In your signature you have 270/204!!!/135, is my interpretation that you have gone from 270 down to 135 correct??? If so, WOW and MAJOR Congrats are in order. Please tell me what you did. I am not banded yet, however, I am STRONGLY considering it. Do you think choosing the RIGHT Dr. plays an important role in this type of success? You are truely an inspiration. How long did it take you to reach that 204 and then 135 weight? I am almost 280 at 5'3' and would love to have the same results. What didn't you like the most after surgery? How are you managing to maintain? I go to a seminar on this Saturday. I'm compiling a list of questions to ask; do you have any important ones that are a must ask? Thanks!
