1 fill and now at standstill. Is this common?

This is not at all related to this thread. I just happened to look under your ticker counting down the time to your "Kauai" wedding. I just want to go back to Hawaii and I'm jealous. Congratulations!!! Sorry for getting off subject.
  2. After surgery, my Dr. requires 24 hours on liquids, 2 weeks on pureed, 2 weeks on soft solid stage and after 1 month you may begin the regular stage. After a fill its liquid for 24 hours, pureed for 24 hrs, soft for 24 hours and back to regular. I was told by my nutritionist that I could buy Wendy's chili and puree it for my pureed stage and I have and it's delicious. She also said we can puree chicken salad.

What is the pre surgery diet?

Mine consisted of 5-6 pkgs. of a Medifast meal per day and unlimited amounts of broth, sf jello and pocsicles. I must say by the middle of week 2 I needed some meat and vegetables and ate skinless bonless chicken and bussel sprouts and my surgery only took 15 mins because my liver wasn't fat. Every Dr. however is different.
  4. WOW!!! You are doing great!!! Congrats and thanks for the response. I'm thankful to report I'm feeling better now.
  5. I'm a mom, but that of a 16 year old. I'm not sure how much I can help, but I certainly will try.
  6. Yes I craved food after 4 days. Can't eat alot, but I needed something with substance. Try sticking with more protein/less carbs. Also, I finally am starting to feel better. I still have a little pain when I feel a burp coming on and then it doesn't come out. I guess that's normal. I also still get some left shoulder pain that I really can't stand. Hang in there. I can't wait til my 2nd week is over so I can see how I feel then.

What is your surgery date? Let's keep a list.

gg, you're funny. I busted out laughing about your "monstrosity" of a burp. I had so much gas that I really didn't care where it came out, I just wanted it out, no matter which end. Burps were difficult so when they came, I welcomed them. My problem now is, and I don't mean to be GROSS but I haven't had a BM since my surgery. What's up with that?

  13. I LOVE THIS FORUM!!! I find it to be so encourgaing and it really lets you know you're not alone on this journey. Thanks for all your replies. One more question, did anyone have a problem with not having a BM DAYS after surgery? I haven't since my surgery 4 days ago and that's not normal.:shades_smile: Any suggestions?
  14. When you say you've been sick, what do you mean? How do you know when you have food stuck?

    Co-worker Sabotage

Good for you!!! You have great strenghth and determination. You are so right, all offices have parties and goodies and typically everyone is including in the pitch in; however when the goodies are being brought in constantly by the same individual on a regular basis, it does begin to look like sabatoge to the bander she's bringing it for. It may just be a feeling, but feelings are real and must be dealt with adequetely. Maybe the person feeling sabatoged should begin bringing in vegi and fruit trays.
  16. Thanks for sharing your story. I am really trying to keep my eyes on the prize.
  17. Hey, you'll have a 2 birthdays back to back. Happy Happy Birthday!

Can anything be pureed for mushies?

If you like Wendy's chili, it's good pureed in the blender. Try it.

    Co-worker Sabotage

You cannot conquer what you don't confront. Although you are handling it silently, some people don't take hints too well and do need to be confronted. This in NO WAY implies being rude or mean about it, but some people only understand if you bring it to their attention politely. I don't believe it should be done in front of other people; however, if it continues after continuing to give her gifts away, it may come to a private discussion and explanation. She may just need to understand your goals and your plans by which you plan to achieve them. Having that knowledge alone may encourage her not to bring certain things for you. The greatest gift we can give someone is the gift of our honest self. Hope this helps.
  20. Thanks for the encouragement you all. I was starting to wonder if this was normal or not. I hadn't said anything to my husband cause he would be like, oh boy not after I've paid $13000. I had to get this out so I could see that I'm not the only one having second thoughts. It's not like I can go have it taken out now anyway, so what am I thinking about. I feel like I'm going throught post partum depression. Thanks God it's not that though!!!
  21. It's interesting reading about others who have had the same regrets and how they made it through. Thanks for the encouragement!

    Why get a Lapband?

I was so happy to read your post here. When you mentioned you regretted being banded during the first 2 weeks because I'm just 4 days being banded and that's exactly how I've been feeling. That internal discomfort you have that makes it difficult to sneeze, cough, burp, shoulder pain, the incision discomfort and I could go on and on. I'm sure this all passes, but I am where you once were. It sounds like your experience got better after the 2nd week, is that correct? I have found the protein I really like and that's Wendy's chili pureed. It's filling and full of protein with the meat and beans. I am looking forward to being able to sit down to a piece of fish and some vegis. I was wondering if I was the only one regretting what I did. It's good to know it gets better. Thanks.

    Olive Garden NOT accomadating!!

I am in TOTAL agreement with you. I have been banded now for 4 days and I will settle for ordering off the appetizer menu or taking leftovers home. No one needs to know that I'm banded.

    Any September Banders?

Thank God you can do the Atkins diet. I was on 2 weeks of medifast and I thought I would pull my hair out along those around me. It was torturous to say the least. Best wishes to you.

    Co-worker Sabotage

Yeah it was good. However, if it continues, you may have to be more direct, in a nice way. I agree with your sister. Trust me, she knows what she's doing. If I knew my co-worker just had weight loss surgery, there is no way I would be that disrespectful to bring in donuts, cappacinos with all that sugar and syrup. You've done great with your weight loss and it shows. 80 lbs is alot of weight loss. It's great you are trying to help her, but it sounds like you have given her the tools in which to do so. It's up to her to take the next steps if this is what she really wants. I'm reminded of a quote by Les Brown "Accept responsibility for your life. Know that it is you who will get you where you want to go, no one else."
