    How much so far - total?

    I was banded Aug 5th 2008 and before the band I was 224 lbs when I went into have it I was 216 lbs and now I am 192 lbs. which is god 32 lbs. But I feel like it should be more, but slow is better then fast. I really count from the time I had the band so for me it's only 24 lbs. So I feel like I am not getting anywhere at times. I am happy and everyone notices, but it's in my head. My pants are too big and I have jeans that haven't fit me in so long. But congrat's too everyone on there weight loss. I figure when Aug 5th 2009 comes around that will be my weight loss. 1 year!

    3mos - Am I eating too much

    Good Morning, Okay I had my Christmas Party (Holiday party) last night @my bosses house. I had like 5 jello shots which of course go down nice and easy lol and three Peach Martini's which I was surprised went down pretty easy. In between all that I tried to eat some chicken wings and couldn't so I tried a wrap Turkey sandwich and I was able to eat less then half until I felt it not going down. So I had to stop for a while and wait which made my buzz go away a bit lol seems like you feel your drinks allot faster with the band, lol. Then I had some little shrimp with clams and pasta and that took a while to eat............then water the rest of the way. I find that mixing I think and drinks make my stomach burn and hurt. Does this happen to anyone? I didn't feel like I ate too much but now that I wrote it down I didn't do the right thing. I should have had one drink one jello shot, no wings lol it all was too much I really don't feel too great today.

    How often do you PB?

    So is it a good idea every once in a while to do liquids for a day then mushie then back to regular foods? Does this help with the PB's? I just don't know if I can do liquids all day again except when I get a fill I really don't have a choice. I do have acid reflux so I think that is part of it too. Thou when I eat and it takes a while for it to go down I know that's just from the food. I PB allot at that point. I PB so much that sometimes I can be out and I don't even realize I am and then I have to catch myself so I don't sound like a pig. lol

    3mos - Am I eating too much

    A tiny bit that's all, but what is weird is that one day I can eat like home made chicken soup and the next day it won't go down. The more I get food stuck and vomit will that make my band slip? I am doing allot better chewing and stopping after every bite, I believe when I am at work is when I have more problems....I rush more. Learning to take it slow. But I still can't really chew any kind of meat except pork...seems to be the better of all of them.

    I do also PB allot but I did before I have reflux so I don't know. But I do know if I eat too fast and don't chew enough I PB allot. I am also afraid I could stretch my band out....I always think I am going to do something wrong. I have 5cc's in me right now from my 2nd fill and I really have to watch what I eat. Seems meat is very hard to swallow. Certain veggies as well so I juice them instead now so I get them in my system. Spinach is the easiest veggie for me to eat. I do get food stuck at least a few times a week and either it goes thru or I bring it back up.

    Brad, You I'm not cutting my foods into small pieces I just take small bites. I think I am doing things wrong. I stopped weighing my food...but I kind of know what a cup looks like...but I am sure I am doing it wrong. I have a Protein shake every morning it's some ice and Water a banana and a scoop of choc Protein Shake. For snack I have a sugar free pudding and then whatever I had for dinner the night before I have for lunch but small....I always freeze half my shake so I have that at night for a snack. Believe me during this holiday i had plenty of cheese cake. lol No Turkey that gets stuck. Sometimes I think I am eating too much then I write it down to see what I ate and it's not that much. Since veggies get stuck I juice them now. There are days when I eat way more then what I just told you, but most of the time it's that's how much. I have had my food get stuck plenty and it comes back up. One day I can eat Soup the next day I can't it's weird. That's with everything...I think I still eat too fast.

    I was banded Aug 5th weight 216 lbs first fill Oct 3rd I had only dropped 20 lbs at that point. I didn't need to diet before hand. Went for 2nd fill three weeks ago and I am down 4 more lbs at this time. My pants are baggy, which I love but not in next size at this point, like I am in between. So down 24 lbs as of today Nov 29th

    3mos - Am I eating too much

    Hello everyone, I am on my 2nd fill and go back in two months. I believe he said it was 5cc's I do have to watch how fast I drink and if I drink to fast after taking a bite of something it will come back up. Chicken gets stuck, turkey, beef. I sometimes don't know what to eat. I eat cheese allot but that gets stuck sometimes to. I have a juicer so I juice my veggies so I will get them because they get stuck. I have to eat really slow slower then I every could eat in my life before.. I figure since I reached my 40's and now going to be 51 yrs I had all those years of not eating right. It's going to take me well I am giving myself a year of training. I have to learn to pick the right foods and chew them slowly and eat slow....never did this before ever so it's going to be a long time of training myself from years of bad habits. I do good for awhile then I don't...but with this 2nd fill has really helped. I lost 20 lbs in the first 3 months then just stopped. Now I am down another 4 lbs. So I guess it's about 1 lb a week...I have to except that as good. I feel I should be down more...but it's okay. I am learning to eat small and slow and less. This is one of the hardest things I ever had to do.

    Yeah I eat too fast and I hate it. I eat way slower then I did before but it's still too fast. I am always paying attention to what I am doing now and it's only 4 mons since I have been banded so I figure it's going to take awhile for myself to get use to everything....I have had bad habbits for all my life even though I never had a weight problem until I was in my late 30's and early 40's so I figure it will take me a year at least. I am down 22 lbs so far and just losing 1 lb about a week. But I do eat too fast always.

    I do drink right before and right after I eat sometimes during. I will stop that. That's right protein first...I forgot thanks I still don't get "the sweet spot" but I might once I know that's were I am at. lol Oh well I can leave work finally lol

    Hmmmm I do PBing almost three to four days out of the week. I catch myself eating too fast. Or not chewing all the way. It feels better when it just comes back up. So Marjon9 how are you doing? how is your weight? OKay so I was banded Aug 5th had first fill Oct 3rd and the week before Oct 3rd I was 20 lbs and as of today I have lost inches but still down 20 lbs. When did your weight start to move? Or did it take awhile?

    Oops! Eating too much and or too fast???

    OKay what is "the sweet spot" ? What does that mean? that once you get to a certain point you start losing weight or you stop PB. I don't think I will ever lose weight. I have been down 20 lbs since the week before Oct 3rd. I made spaghetti and meatballs yesterday and I can eat less then a cup of pasta and one meatball. I have no problem, but I took a drink before my bite went down and O that hurt...but the only thing that came back up was my water. Does it take every one at least a half to 40 mins to eat something? It takes me I have to put my plate down and wait. If I don't I get slime and then I have to spit it up. I see my doctor Wednesday morning...I have to tell him everything. I hope I am not screwing my band up by eating too fast at times and bring it back up. I do get nervous that that will happen

    Oh my we all have the same story lol it's great. lol Well it's not great getting food stuck, but with all our stories. How about going out to dinner and really really watching how you eat. Tonight I went out and I had to go to the bathroom because the one small bite of salad I took was stuck. I do the same I slime and spit that out then bend over the toilet and push my stomach muscles in and it comes right out. I can't eat scrabbled eggs they get stuck all the time. Beef and chicken get stuck...but then sometimes I can eat chicken but super small. But some things get stuck and some don't. It's weird. But I am afraid of hurting my pouch...I would really be upset if I did something wrong....at least I know I am not alone and everybody else is doing the same thing. I just hate that feeling when something gets stuck...everyone in my family and work now knows the look on my face. I walk around and do the same thing put my hands in the air, my head back. But I feel it helps some times lol

    I'm learning that I can't take to small bites in a row I have to stop and wait after one bite then I can take another bite. I have been trying to do this as much as possible. It's when I am around other people and talking I just don't pay attention and that's when I think I run into problems. Last night I went to see my girlfriend in from NC and she made homemade chicken soup...I was just taking bites and not paying attention and I got a carrot stuck and had to spit it out. This is were I have to learn. Lisa

    Yes he is with Stratford Kennedy and Lourdes. I went to Stratford...I did everything there all my doctor app I had to have everything. Booth, Lab everything. It was real close for me. Plus he is such a handsome and very very nice doctor and Kelly his nurse is so sweet and nice. Your in Salem Cty I guess Lourdes would be closer. But go for it, he is really wonderful.   17. I two raised with two older brothers lol also two younger sisters but I eat so fast. It's a long learning processes. I still drink to fast to. Besides my brothers and I use to hide my stuff and put my name on it lol I have goten better over the weeks but I am still to fast. I'm not seeing weight coming off me at this point either and it's really got me. I see my doctor on the 19th

    I am from South Jersey to Runnemede area.

    Banded Aug 5th and first fill Oct 3rd. still learning allot. I am a fast eater and I am learning to chew allot better and eat very slow. Good luck to you.

  19. Good morning everyone, I too use to be a pepsi freak....I loved it. But maybe two three years ago I gave it up. Went from Reg Pepsi to Diet Pepsi, went though the headaches of diet pepsi until I realized it doesn't matter soda is soda...it's just bad for you all the way around. So I gave it up. I am a coffee drinking and water with a lemon. I'll make greentea as iced tea allot to. But I could go all day without drinking before...now I can't I actually get thristy. BUt I took eat too fast at times and I will PB allot and sometimes I end up bringing back up. I have learn some what. I do have days were I eat so great and others I over eat. I don't write down though. My first fill was Oct 3rd, at first I didn't think it was anything until I ate chicken, turkey or beef O I knew. If I swallow my drink to fast it will come up and it hurts...if I take a bite and follow with another before the first bite goes down it comes up. I still have allot to learn. But all your posts help so much. I thank everyone on here. We all need each other. Thanks I am still learning to eat less eat slow small bites.

    O I don't bring food back up because I want to. It's if you eat to fast take to big of a bite it will get stuck and the only thing you can do is walk around and spit it back out. You can't even swallow your saliva. It hurts to in your chest. It's taking me a while to slow my eating up and chew small pieces. I do great most of the time there is just these times when I am talking and just not paying attention and I put to big of a bite in or I don't chew right and it will get stuck....sometimes walking around helps and it will go down other times you spit it back out. But no one does this because they want to. It's a learning process. I have learn allot of what I do when I eat. Now I am learning to enjoy my food. I only eat 1 cup to 1 cup and half for my breakfast, lunch and dinner. I'll have a couple snacks though the day. A sugar free pudding, or my frozen protein shake. I freeze half of my protein shake so I have a treat after dinner. Do you write down...keep track of what you eat? Lisa

    Well if I am talking and not paying attention and I take a small bite then put another small bite in my mouth it will get stuck and it hurts so bad. I also tried to drink something my first time I did that and you can't swallow at all. I went into the bathroom and brought it back up. But the pain stays for a little bit. It sucks......you always have to pay attention I have done this a handful of times. Now I am starting to know that there are certain foods I just can't eat. But yeah for me it's not gas it's food stuck. It hurts right allot I hate it. I can't eat shrimp any more I have tried so many times and it comes right back up. Chicken, Turkey, Steak, certain breads I can not swallow. The meat I cut into tiny tiny pieces and I have to eat it slow one at a time. All kinds of stuff. I hope things are going better.
  22. Hello How are you doing? I think I figured out that I lost 20 lbs fast after my surgery and it stopped right before my fill. I think my body now has to get use to the way I am eating now. I was getting really worried on why I wasn't losing weight every week. I think I have to wait to get to the "swet spot" I was so upset, but now I think that's what going on. I go back to the doctors on the 19th of Nov. just for a check up. I don't need a fill yet...I am restricted. He said it was to early anyway. Banded Aug 5th and first fill Oct 3rd.

    So how is your weight going?

    Hello Blanka, It's okay I don't come on here as I use to....I check it out see what people are saying and get off. I am on and off. lol I am at 20 lbs and I think it bothers me. I feel I should have lost more weight then this already. I feel restricted on something and other foods I don't. I workout allot...between Latin dancing and hip-hop Monday nights (2 hours) and Wii Fit like almost every morning for 30 mins and Belly dancing Thursday nights and in between that just plan old gym you would think I would be down in weight...but no. I did lose inches...but still. I called the Dr. Balsama's office yesterday to talk to Kelly the nurse there and let her know how I feel. I don't think I am eating wrong...I don't write down thou. If I eat something too fast or too big it just comes back up anyway. It's too early for another fill, so I have to see when she calls me back. It seems my weight is just staying there I started at 216 lbs and just down to 196 lbs since Aug 5th. I must be doing something wrong. I think I need to write down and I hate that. I don't eat over my 1 cup 1/2 I have had some junk but nothing that would matter. I eat as healthy as I can. But some days I feel so hungry other days I have to force myself to eat. I just don't know. I here that it takes a while to reach your "sweet spot" whatever that is. I hear it takes awhile for your body to adjust. My clothes are loose and I am fitting into clothes that I haven't fit into in a very long time. But weight wise I feel I should be down. lol sorry venting on myself lol I hope all is good for you. Did you get filled yet and how do you feel?
  25. Seems like my weight is taking forever to come off. Banded Aug 5th, first fill Oct3rd. Only down 19lbs. I believe I am eating right. I go to the gym I am never just sitting around. Does anyone else seem to be moving slow on the weight loss with the band? Maybe I need to write down.
