I agree without being banded you really have no idea what it is like. Some days you can eat something and the next you can't . One of the best things I have done was get my band I love it and it is hard, one of the hardest things I have had to do. For myself It's a learning process and an eye opener at least it has been for me. things I didn't know about myself in eating I sure found out about after I was banded. This web site has got me though allot and it's been other people who have been banded that helped......... everyone on here. I need everyone it helps so much. I was so great my first two years, then I started down hill. Lost 86 lbs and gained 22lbs back. Now I am back on track thanks to my band and to me and everyone on here. I lost 4 lbs now and 10lbs more to go and I am good. I got to thin looking funny to say but true I was loosing muscle mass and not looking right. Even though i was doing Zumba and weights. I look so much better healthier. Well also my port flipped and I wasn't able to hold food down or drinks and that's why I lost so much weight sooo fast. But now after my new port I am good to go and had to re train myself. here I am back to doing the right thing. I could never do this on my own I tried over and over and over again It's weird because your still on your own but you have this awesome band inside you that helps you and that is the sole purpose of this band. We have it and we are suppose to use it, we are suppose to get filled and we are suppose to do our best as best as we all can do. I know lots of people have been banded and totally didn't even try, and have gain their weight back and then some. But we have this so if we have a bad time we can go get a fill and try again. It's awesome I LOVE MY BAND. I am always trying to do the right thing every day and for the rest of my life. Thanks to all who are on here and who are banded who understand we all need each other even if it's just to say hello and read every body's stuff it helps so much It's going to be 3 yrs Aug 5th awesome thanks for letting me rattle on lol -

Hi everyone I was banded Aug 5th 2008. Lost 86 lbs and looking pretty good. My port flipped and had a smaller one put in. Since I have had the new smaller one in , my fills are not the same. I can eat anything and I throw up sometimes and sometimes I don't. I don't get it. I can eat fish n veggies one day teh next I can't. It's weird. Then I went on a chocolate binge and now I am coming off this and then I went on an ice cream binge, I am done withthat and so upset with myself and I feel like crying. I gained back just a little over 20lbs and my clothes are tight. I haven't had this gross feeling ion so long. I am going for a fill in a few weeks and I haven't had one sonce August of 2010. So I guess it's time. But I can't do this on my own I am weak. I crave chocolate and ice cream, my weaknesses. I don't knwo what to do or how to get back on track. I haven't had a Protein shake or ate healthy in weeks, months really. I feel ugly and fat. I haven't been on here in a long time either. It's good to hear I am not alone Just writing this makes me feel better. I think I need to go to a group meeting or something. I am hoping the fill gets me started up, but I don't want to always depend on a fill. I wish I can just do this without the fill. I feel everyone's pain. I need help I need to get back on track....I need to find my way. Godd luck to you all -

Hi everyone Melly I am glad you posted as well. My suture came loose I was told and I go in to get a port replacement Oct 27th Wednesday. I took off Thursday as well since I can be paid for sick days....I was happy to fine out. My port sticks out so far looks like a tumor...he said he can replace with a smaller one. Plus the suture is loose. The only problem I have is some days I can eat tuna the next i can't and that goes with everything. I might eat too fast still but it's been two years and I still get sick once in a while. UGH anyway good luck to everyone on your journey. I love my band and it was the best thing I had ever done for muself.:wink2:

Can you see/feel your port?
lisafitz replied to ardelia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes you can see my port if I had a six pack maybe it would blend in. lol But you can see it big time. I wear a bikini and it sticks out looks like a growth. When I went to have some taken out my doctor said I can have a smaller one put in. So I am doing that at some point this month. Its been two years since I was banded and I am past goal by 1 lb lol I am smaller now almost back to my old self when I was in my thirties. But yes my port sticks out so much you can see it clearly and grab it. -

It's been two years August 5th and I am 1 pound past my goal weight 86 lbs...wow I can not believe it has been 2 yrs and I have lost this weight and I feel awesome and I am loving it. The only thing I wish I would have done was drink more water use allot more lotion then I did to help my skin. It's not so bad but bad enough for me. I wish ins would cover after two years and you reached your goal. It's not right or fare. Oh well what can you do but keep going to back to the doctors and complaining. Ugh My stomach is nasty and I would love for that to be fixed. I can go on. The bottom line is the weight is off and I am happy and feel great.

OMG I love love love Zumba...I have never loved something so much as Zumba when it comes to working out....it is the best ever. I go all the time and follow my instructor to her other classes as well as her class in the gym. I could do it 5 days a week n more lol. We do Zumba parties and now there is a Zumba breast cancer one coming up for two hours of Zumba. It's so cool on how many people love Zumba lol it's the best. My daughter only dates spanish men and now she is living with her boy, he is columbian and so now it's cool because we can dance and he knows all the clubs to go to. it's awesome

Yes I would ask away and I understand I searched and found people on here that where banded and some that were getting banded the same time I was makes it better for you. I know one thing this is the best thing I have ever done. I am so happy and it was rough in the beginning but you get past it. Ask as many questions as you lol
