    Any restriction before first fill?

Hi mswg welcome to the Mens Room I am scheduled for my third fill next week I do not have restriction yet but it will come. Having said that as you can see it will work if you eat and exercise like your Doctor tells you. Good Luck

Well Guys life is good lost 4 pounds last week now 243. Was looking at my food log for last week and shows I ate more than most weeks who can figure.
  4. Tina I am so happy for you. You found the Band 50 years sooner than I did and we both are doing very well. Some advice form the good habits now at a very young age you know what the are don't you? Make exercise a habit. Eat only high quality food. And so on Live a happy health life food does not have to rule us. Good Luck

Hi Guys: Down three lbs in the past 2 weeks now at 247 pat on back. Giving Mike a run of it now if I just over look the fact that you are 4 inch's taller than me. Great job Dave. Last week I walked 16.89 Miles not bad for me. Bet Big Rick beats me all to hell in this area even in the snow. Here in Mesa AZ last week the Temprature is running in the seventies Ha Ha.

    How much are you eating

Hi Big08 All the reports I have read here on the Forum tell us the first 5 weeks are for healing the new little pouch formed by the Band and not to loose weight, you could even gain weight. All Doctors do not approach weight lose the same and recommend different things for us to eat, some don't even give much advice at all. Nuts and Bolts of what my Doctor and his group told me to eat. 1 to 2 oz of protein per meal 3 meals per day and no snacks between meals. and to supplement my protein intake with Whey protein drink to bring my total to 60 - 70 grams of protein per day. (Note the protein drinks are taken between meals.) At about 4/5 weeks I was just starving and called the group I now do 3 oz of protein, and sometimes about 2 oz of vegetables, and a couple of bits of fruit. They want me to take daily vitamins, Multivitamins Complex B and Calcium. They want me to drink 48 to 62 oz of fluid per day. Exercise at least 30 minutes per day I walk. I log every thing I eat to record my 60 - 70 grams of protein. I do record my Calories but not required by Doctor I am at 11 Weeks post op now and eat 400 to 600 Calories per day sometimes I see it go up to 800. I do sill need at times to drink Low Sodium V8 to curb the hungers between meals. Good Luck

3 weeks to go, what should I be doing?

Hi JABBA THE MUTT Welcome to the Mens Room The low/no carb is what I did before sure helped me. I also stopped eating between meals and continue to do so today. Get yourself a log book and start recording your efforts now. I record liquid, protein, intake and mileage walked daily. I only weigh myself on Sunday the start of a new week. I bought a OMRON HJ112 Pedometer TO Monitor walking. I was able to start walking the day of surgery and started mall walking the next day as all of us have said walk walk walk at least 30 minutes per day. Good Luck
  9. Current Weight 248. Thanks for the update

Not Losing. . . except my mind.

WannaBSKinnyB We share the same band date and its just not right that Men lose faster than Woman. But I also have my own problems would give anything to be at my own sweet spot the hungers are driving me crazy. I must keep reminding myself that time and more fills will take care of that I am only at 4.5cc in a 10cc band now. Remind yourself that you are only two months post op and was told Lap Band is slower than RNY that was also are choice. From what I read in your posts the way you are eating you will get skinny but it will be slow. From what I have read here on the Forum on those that have lost a lot fast they pretty much all say they keep a log and exercise exercise. WannaBSKinnyB fast to SKinnyBME get a log book and start recording you may get a surprise. The hard one for us all is exercise and could be what is causing you to loss slowly. You might consider reporting your effort to us I do walk 30 minuets to a hour every day

Not Losing. . . except my mind.

We all have the same problem. We are all compulsive overeaters I am for sure. We all chose the band to help us on the road to good health but it is only a tool it wont do it for us. Yes this is Bandster Hell time we must still take control for now. To become sober an Alcoholic must stop drinking. A compulsive overeater is no different only food is the booze. We can’t stop eating so what can we do? For me I chose to not eat between meals that would be like an Alcoholic taking a drink. Exercise must become the most important activity of are day put off what we must but walk at least 30 minutes per day seven days a week Get a logbook and start recording daily I do. Log how much liquid, drink 48 to 64 oz per day. Record your Protein input. Eat 60 to 70 grams of protein per day no more. Drink protein drinks if needed to get to this number. I do record my calories but not required I eat 400 to 600 per day. Yes I do get hungry the Band fills have not caught up with that yet but they will. But then we chose weight lose surgery. So get over it use willpower 6 months to a year is a very small price to pay for our good health. I use low sodium v8 juice and protein drinks between meals to help with the hungers. Good luck

    Weight gain and frustarted

Hi elsid congratulation on loosing 36 pounds. Taking the first step to get with us guys is a great way to get back on track. We have the same problem as you. We are all compulsive overeaters I am for sure. We all chose the band to help us on the road to good health but it is only a tool it wont do it for us. To become sober an Alcoholic must stop drinking. A compulsive overeater is no different only food is the booze. We can’t stop eating so what can we do? For me I chose to not eat between meals that would be like an Alcoholic taking a drink this would be my first suggestion. Second exercise must become the most important activity of your day put off what you must but walk at least 30 minutes per day seven days a week Get a logbook and start recording daily I do. Good luck
