Hello All! I was just wondering if anyone has taken weight loss medication after having bariatric surgery?! I had VSG in March and lost about 50 lbs in four months which was super exciting. Though, I haven't lost any weight since mid-July. My 6month post-op doctor suggested that I start taking Saxenda because Wegovy is on back order tool January. I started at 250 and have been sitting at 200-202 for three months. I guess my question is, has anyone else taken weight loss medication after having surgery? I feel pretty disappointed! Yes, fifty pounds is something to be proud of, but I feel like I lost 70-80% of my stomach, and now I need to take medication. Wtf! I'm just frustrated because I'm following my plan so I'm not sure why I'm not losing any weight anymore.

Belly button pain and discharge.
carpeediem posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello Community! I noticed about five days ago that I'm having pain in the inner right side of my belly button and then today noticed a slight discharge inside. Has anyone else experienced this before? I'm seven months post-op. I'm concerned I might have an ulcer. Thanks! -
Weight loss meds after surgery!
carpeediem replied to carpeediem's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nothing has really changed. I eat the same things, but I can consume more now. I wasn't exercising then (I walk at least 3 miles a day, and that hasn't changed), and I've never been one to count calories. I just keep track of my protein and carbs. -
Weight loss meds after surgery!
carpeediem replied to carpeediem's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't have hunger cravings; if anything, I have the opposite problem. I'm constantly battling dehydration because I still cannot get all my protein and fluid in one day. Luckily my insurance has covered IV infusions, but I know that can not be a long-term solution. My doctor said that insurance won't cover weight loss drugs if your BMI is 27 or below, and I that should start the drugs now still. My BMI is already 31.1. Though, that's not a solution to not losing weight. -
I'm in this situation now! I haven't lost any weight in three months, which is frustrating!

Hello All! This might be a taboo topic, but this has always felt like a safe space to ask questions. I had VSG surgery three months ago, and I'm down 50 pounds which is very exciting. My question is, has anyone else experienced vaginal dryness after surgery?! It's dry as the Sahara desert down there, regardless of solo play or with my partner, which was the complete opposite pre-op! I don't know if I'm dehydrated, or maybe my hormones are just off right now. Any thoughts? Thank you 🙂

Workout Partner or Workout advice
carpeediem posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Is anyone in Southeast Michigan in search of a workout buddy or have any advice on how to get started working out post-surgery?! I don't know where to begin... Get a trainer. Join a class. Should I focus on the areas of loose skin? I'm lost! I've lost 50lbs since my surgery in March, but in the last month, I've only lost six pounds, and it is freaking me out. Thanks! -
I'm only 29! I hope it's not early menopause.

Did any of you experience vaginal dryness?! I'm three months post-op, and it'slike the Sahara desert down there. It's getting very worrisome because I never had this issue pre-op.

What are you eating during the pureed phase?!
carpeediem posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hello all! I'm in the pureed phase for ten more days, and I'm curious about what everyone else is eating. I've tried the ricotta bake, and I wasn't a huge fan. I made cauliflower soup which I love but can't eat anymore this week. Ha. I've mostly just been eating yogurt, thinned-out refried beans, smoothies, and jello. I don't know if my taste buds have changed, but nothing tastes very appealing anymore. I am not eating much, but I know I'm still on track with weight loss because I'm down 16 lbs. -

Hello All! I had surgery on March 5th. Everything has been going relatively well regarding eating, and I'm on soft food for two more weeks. I was just wondering if anyone can eat veggies yet? I would love a salad! -
You are not alone! I regret my decision to have surgery every day, and it's been five weeks. I have noticed that I'm falling into some kinda of depression. I'm constantly angry or short-tempered with my loved ones; I'm not happy. Also, every little thing irritates me. I feel alone and don't want to be around anyone but even the dog.

Hello All! I had VSG a month ago, and since then, I have noticed that my pee smells rather fruity. I know this can happen with diabetics, but I'm not diabetic. Maybe it's because my body is in ketosis. I'm not sure what's going on. I guess I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else? Thank you!

It always amazes me how different insurance companies can be on their requirements! My BMI was 37, and I had to be over 35 with a preexisting condition(mild sleep apnea). Also, everyone's programs and length of phases are so different. I was in full liquids for two weeks, and now I'm on purred foods for a month!! Such a long time. -

Did you use egg in your ricotta bake? I've seen two different recipes with one egg and another without eggs entirely. I tried the one with an egg, and the texture wasn't my favorite. -

Question... This might be TMI, but how often are you having a BM or going number #2!? I didn't go for 11 days after surgery and have only gone one other time in the last 16 days. I'm drinking Miralax daily, but I just wondered if this was normal. Thank you! -

Post op constipation…

Milk of Magnesium Cherry flavor! I didn't go for 11 days post-op, and this helped in 12 hours -
Hello, I'm in a very similar boat right now. I can't seem to get enough protein or water in a day. I'm dehydrated and exhausted. I'm also noticing that I'm beginning to feel depressed and discouraged. As a result, I'm a little snippy with my loved ones. Honestly, I wish I could turn back the hands of time and never get surgery. It doesn't seem worth it anymore. I've also developed this sharp pain in my right side by my incision, and it hurts so bad I can barely bend over.

Very well put! I agree that if you physically can't function or get around, then, by all means, get surgery!! Though for me, at 30 years old kindergarten teacher who was medically "healthy." It wasn't the right choice!! I would take being a thick size 18 over all the complications from acid reflux. I just wasn't told the severity in which the complications could be. It pisses me off!!

I wish I had read this post weeks ago! I also wish I would've just learned to love the "fat" me instead of having this surgery
