Struggling to envision weight loss
Quesodip251 replied to mcipanda's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I had a goal to reach the size I was when my son was young which was a size 2 but didn’t believe I could actually reach it…Yesterday those same old size 2 pants fit! It seems weird but you will adapt to your own body much faster than others will because you see it everyday. Enjoy the ride ☺️ -
Hey guys! So I know a lot of y’all are busy parents like me and don’t want to cook two meals but still want to eat healthy so thought it would be a good idea to get suggestions for meal plans/snacks that you can work around kids! This is presuming y’all are at the whole food stage already. i.e. 1. Anything with breaded, baked chicken nuggets or fish 2. Baked sweet potato fries 3. Gatorade zero or body armor lite for drinks 4. Raw carrots or cotton candy grapes as snacks 5. Chicken parm with reduced fat cheese 6. Tuna fish sandwiches with light mayo for lunches 7. Light ground beef tacos minus the cheese for the adults (flour tortilla) 8. Turkey dogs with beans My son loves corn and breaded baked anything with bbq or ketchup so I made him chicken nuggets last night then boiled some corn today to make a chicken salad. He’ll eat the corn tonight and have leftover chicken nuggets while I eat my salad. No cooking twice! Ingredients: -2 baked chicken nuggets cut up -dash of cheddar cheese -your fave salad mix -1/8-1/4 cup of boiled corn -1.5 tbsp light ranch dressing I often have his football team friends over for dinner and those boys weigh more than me (in 6th grade at that) so I gotta find ways to turn hearty meals into healthy meals! Give me your suggestions! Quesodip

Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go first
Quesodip251 replied to chiquitatummy's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I just got ID’d to enter a restaurant that becomes a bar late at night. I told the security guy he must be new since I’m there 3x/week. He said no. He took a look at my ID and still marked my hand as underage. I’m 34 years old!!! Apparently I look younger now haha 😂 🤣😂 -
6 Months: Before and After

Holy crap! You’re my hero! -
I began working out 8 months after surgery but wish I had started earlier. My weight loss completely stopped until I added exercise in and then it started back up again.

Hey y’all! I was just wondering when y’all started to notice your hunger pains coming back? I’m 9 months out and really have started feeling them come back lately. I haven’t had much restriction at all post-surgery and have been relying on the lack of hunger pains to control myself. Thanks!

Hunger coming back
Quesodip251 replied to Quesodip251's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I think a lot of it is the drinking munchies for me. I really need to cut back on that. Idk if it’s head hunger or what but I need to def eat more protein and less carbs. I keep snacking on my so leftovers like pizza. I’m also training for a triathlon so even though I ate 2000 calories yesterday, I burned that much due to my training. -

Hunger coming back

I can eat an entire plate of food at once, like 16 oz pretty easily. I’ve always been able to eat more than others at the same stage though -
Can someone explain "restriction" to me?
Quesodip251 replied to Cliffnotes's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Same as others I feel the chest tightness when I eat too much or more often too much, too quickly. Before surgery I imagined it would be a stuffed full feeling in my stomach like Thanksgiving dinner but instead it’s mild chest tightness like acid reflux. -

Thanks for your input. I feel some mild restriction when I seriously overeat, but usually I don’t have hunger pains and it’s only the drinking munchies that get me to eat high amounts. Maybe it’s just natural progression of the surgery? -
Yes! I now sleep in socks, jacket, and sometimes even shoes. My boyfriend doesn’t mind bc it means I get to cuddle more for warmth 😉

Weight loss continues almost 2 years post op
Quesodip251 replied to Studio54's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I’m the same height as you and weigh less. The only thing that puts any weight on me are carby snacks that don’t fill me up like queso and chips or crackers and peanut butter. They go down too easily! If you’re concerned, snacks aren’t filling so are easy calories that add up -

My new NSV: I was able to finish an entire spinning class without panting for breath or quitting early! It’s amazing how much losing weight can make working out easier! Now I’m training for a triathlon coming up in a few months!! -

Damn! You and your shoes both look fabulous! -
do you ever just feel huge? lol
Quesodip251 replied to liveaboard15's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes! I live in a fairly wealthy town where most people are thin even into their 40s. It’s like high school sometimes where I still feel like I compare myself to those women smaller than me even though I’m not very big myself. It’s totally normal! -

Your goal will change as you get closer to a healthy and fit body. I wouldn’t even worry about a goal weight as much as a fitness and general health level. As others have said, your body and lifestyle will reach a set point where your weight is healthy and happy and then it will stop. Most people gain some weight back anyway. I’m 8.5 months out and 130 lbs at 5’7”. My body is still slowly losing maybe 2-3 lbs a month and I’m not concerned if I end up at a low bmi as I ignore it anyway. Obsessing over my weight only leads to stress eating anyway 🙃 I probably eat more than I should but am a fairly active single mom so my calorie burn can handle the amount of calories I eat. Enjoy the ride and your body will end up where it’s supposed to be. 😃

Wow! You’re doing awesome! -
How did you choose your goal weight?
Quesodip251 replied to kbsleeved's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I chose 118-120 lbs because that’s what I weighed when I worked out regularly and ate right back when my son was little. I’m still 15 lbs away but taking it slowly so I can enjoy wine🍷 in the process -
How do you curb cravings?
Quesodip251 replied to maintenanceman's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
What helps me best is trying not to snack-just eating full meals. That way I’m actually too full to want to eat my cravings. I also leave aside enough calories at the end of the day to have a glass of wine or couple of pieces of my kid’s leftover fun-size chocolate candies. As another poster said, if you completely ignore what you crave, you’ll end up eating it anyway after what you ate instead and that leads to regret and bingeing.
