    Benefiber

I was told I could but don't need too. I hit my fiber goals through food and go to the bathroom regularly without supplements. Although, I had bypass but I can't imagine it would be any different for sleeve.
  3. You will be able to handle it or get used to it. Can you make your own food or bring your own food? Then you can make something that fits your plan. PS: Dennys food is SOOOO greasy now. I ordered scrambled eggs and there was literally a puddle of butter on my plate. I sopped it up with a napkin and ate it anyway. Luckily it didn't make me sick but I am over it. I remember going to dennys in the past but I don't remember everything being so greasy. Best of luck to you!
  4. No, I didn't have a stricture. I just know it will show it. However, I do not know if a barium swallow will show it or not. That is crazy that they can't have someone else scope you while she is out! They could refer you to an upper GI specialist to have the scope done! My surgeon didn't even do my pre-op scope because he was too backed up, so he referred me to their hospitals GI to have it done.
  5. Hello, sorry you are struggling. It will get better when they figure it out! Yes, a scope will show a stricture. Good luck to you, hope you feel better soon.

YEA! It's like I can't vomit anymore... I thought it was just me but after talking to some people apparently it is normal? I don't get it. Early out a bite of steak made me feel sick and I basically spit it back up and was fine immediately after. Got the "foamies" once.. but actual vomit.. nope. I had a procedure done the other day (not related) but it made me super nauseous and I felt like I needed to vomit. I asked the nurse for a cup from their water fountain because I felt sick. She was like well heres a bag because a cup isn't going to do anything. But it's actually all I need because my "vomit" is just gagging and spitting up some phlegm... it is so weird! My wife explained it as well your stomach is so small and things pass through so fast there is just nothing to vomit up.. which makes sense but it is still very strange to me.

    ARG!!

Thanks guys, I know we all fight the same battles. But, sometimes we need to just complain about it. haha At least I do! I am so grateful for a smooth transition into this new life of mine and happy I did this and frankly kicking a*s!
  13. I didn't have a revision, (virgin bypass here) but I had the same concerns pre-op. I was worried about never being able to eat a piece of steak again.. or becoming lactose intolerant. I LOVE DAIRY! Long story short, none of it happened. I can eat anything I want, never dumped or maybe once but so mild I am still not even sure if that's what it was. By about 5-6 months, I was pretty much perfectly back to "normal" other than the restriction and eating WAY less than my normal pre-op self. I never had a problem getting my fluids or hitting protein goals. You got this! Don't worry. I know everyone is different but keep in mind, negative travels faster than positive! So it seems like you hear about more negative things but in reality it is just how word of mouth travels. Best of luck to you!

Everyone is different. Follow your plan and you will do great! I can eat drink decently too. Never had a problem getting my fluids or protein in. Depending on what the food is, sometimes I do fill up fast but otherwise I can usually eat a serving without a problem. I just follow my plan and go with the flow, seems to be working great for me. PS: You are still early out and your stomach is still healing so the nerves aren't completely healed and not getting the hint. You will start to feel the restrictions when you get to solid foods.

    Minimal Weight Loss

You guys have to keep your expectations in check. (Not meant rudely) 14 lbs in 20 days is more than a half pound a day! That is at LEAST 15 lbs in a month! That is fantastic! That is not slow, very average if not above average. It takes time, your body can only do so much but just keep following your plan and next thing you know you will suddenly be like "whoa when did I get so much smaller"

    ARG!!

Yeah, I have heard that before too. Right now I eat per my plan, about 1000 calories a day but sometimes as much as 1200.

    ARG!!

I only weigh myself on Mondays, so I am not worried about the daily ticker change. I just want to keep moving, even if it is slow.

    ARG!!

yea, it sucks! haha I have my 9 month follow up next week, I am just gonna check with the Dietician and see if he has any pointers to get it moving again. Currently, I am just following my plan and trying to wait it out.

  21. Congratulations! Side note: Don't stock up on your favorites too much, after surgery your taste tends to change. Sometimes short term and sometimes long term. I LOVED the premier chocolate peanut butter before surgery and I can't stand it now. Just taste like chemicals to me. Very weird. Good luck on your journey!
  22. Not quite the same, but EVERY time I drink a protein shake my lips are weird and kind of dry afterwards. Almost like they are pealing from sunburn or something. It is very strange. I am 9 months post op and drink a shake every morning for breakfast and I always have to like rub my lips with a napkin and apply chap stick afterwards and then they are fine for the day. It is so strange and I just thought I was weird so never mentioned it. haha

    Telling friends and family

Well, there are risks with anything. That includes being obese... I chose to tell very select people also, I don't really need anyone opinions. I had already thought about it for years, read everything, did tons of research. I knew the risks vs. the benefits. I have heard very close friends and family make comments about WLS and I didn't need or want to hear about it. I told VERY few people, and only one person said "what are the risks" I explained less than me being morbidly obese and they responded "good point" and that was about it. It sucks, regardless of this or whatever it may be, people should keep their opinions to themselves. I mean, I do understand sincere concern as it is a surgery but the opinion on the actual surgery needs to be left alone. Good luck on your journey and try not to worry about them, just do what is best for you.
  24. I noticed recently that I close the car door AS I am getting in. Usually I would get in and adjust and all that and THEN close the door. Now it is all in one quick smooth motion, I am pulling the door closed as my second leg is going in and I don't have to adjust myself.

So popcorn is NOT my friend....

Yea, I can eat a ton if I let myself, those slider foods never fill you up. haha I buy the small 100 calorie bags, or measure out a serving so I don't go over board.
