Unflavored Protein Powder
kcuster83 replied to IWant ToDelete MyProfile's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I don't know of anything I would call "creamy". Some blend better than others but creamy is a stretch. Unjury blends up good. -

Are you sure what you feel with the egg avocado and hummus is actually restriction? I ask because my stomach feels are different now. Like maybe your stomach is just like "ok enough of that" I am done with it, but not "full". Hard to explain typing. (sorry) -
Going on 3 weeks post op and can't drink or eat anything
kcuster83 replied to PM2022's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Best to just weigh and measure foods and then you at least know you are not over eating. I weigh and measure everything, except if I am out. I have become quite good at estimating. I mean it wouldn't work for the long term as those little bits of calories would add up, but I test myself when measuring and I am always within .1 or .2 oz. Plus, I am no where near my max daily calories, so even if I am off a few it is not making a difference right now. When that hunger comes back and I am maxing out calories, then it will start making a difference. You will get it, you got it. Stay focused and patient! -
I am only 2 months post-op and I have no hunger. My nutritionist warned me it would come back, and take this time to retrain myself how to eat. Making better choices, healthier snacks, etc. With that, I would say it is normal. Maybe add a low calorie snack to your days?

kcuster83 replied to SleeveToBypass2023's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just follow your plan. Serving sizes, calories, macros. Whatever you plan involves and you will do fine! Based on a few of your other posts, I think you are over thinking it. Or, maybe, thinking about it the wrong way. Everyone is able to eat different amounts and different things at different intervals of the day. Don't stress my friend, you will be ok! -
Is there a way to shrink in Liver in 1 week?
kcuster83 replied to zo30e28's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did not cheat, not even one bite or one sip of anything. Mine was actually a 10 day pre-op and I did it for 14 days! My surgeon was clear, if you gain ANY weight from your final weight check and the day of surgery he will cancel your surgery right there at the hospital. I worked too hard for this, put in too much effort. Noting was stopping me. I lost 19 lbs in the 14 days. I doubt 1 cheat would make you gain weight, it just wasn't worth the risk for me. Sometimes 1 cheat .. spirals out of control and it just wasn't worth it for me. -
Hello, To answer everyone's questions and concerns at once: Yes, I spoke to my PCP. Yes, I am on pepcid by prescription from the surgeon to prevent ulcers while healing. Yes, I did ask about possible return of GERD/reflux. Was told with the symptoms I listed it didn't sound that way. My wife has allergies, she wheezes and coughs every year when they hit until she gets it under control. So bad, she uses an inhaler. (Diagnosed and treated by allergy doctor) My PCP told me to start with Flonase, I picked it up and started it Friday after work and fell 85% better already. Seems like allergies it is. I will keep using the Flonase to see if it gets me to 100% or at least 95% haha. Thanks everyone!

I have NEVER had allergies. Literally allergic to NOTHING... I am not 2 months post op, and seem to have developed allergies! I am so annoyed. I am always coughing and gagging, sneezing, my throat always hurts. I have been coughing so much my chest hurts. It is miserable! I talked to my doctor he said since I was COVID NEGATIVE that it seems like allergies. Told me to start taking Flonase and then let him know if it doesn't help. Seriously! Is this a coincidence?? Has anyone else developed allergies after surgery?

I am glad you got clarity on what foods are what. I actually never get hungry, at all since surgery. I think I was hungry once, but honestly I am not even sure if that is what it was. I am lucky for that, and will take it as long as I can. haha With that being said, I also eat when I am not hungry because I know I have to. I drink a shake for breakfast and then eat 3 other times through the day. Staying within my serving sizes. -
I am bored, let's talk. 😀😀 How is everyone doing? In general, with pre-op goals, post op? Anything? Anyone around Baltimore, MD?

Throat burns post sleeve
kcuster83 replied to ShoppGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Those were the 2 I was on before surgery, my insurance covered both. (Cigna) Correct, if the meds work COMPLETELY then you are safe. No acid in your esophagus to damage it. They were not working good enough for me, I would wake up in the middle of the night literally puking acid which felt like fire. I couldn't do anything to stop it, no matter how many tums I ate I just had to wait it out till it went away. I would stand over the sink and just let acid drain out of my mouth burning every step of the way. it was horrible. Sometimes so bad, I would be hoarse for a few days after an episode. When I had my surgery they found some pretty severe damage to my esophagus and repaired it while they were in there. I am SO GRATEFUL that the bypass seems to have completely eliminated my acid problems. It really is miserable, especially when you had to as bad as I did. I feel for you and hope the meds work and you get relief! -
If it was like something I could avoid I would do it. Like laundry soap or foods... but is it definitely "air" related. haha
-
If the flonase works, it's not worth all that effort. Not like I can avoid the air... haha He said take it for a few days and give him a call back if it doesn't help and then he would go from there. This was my primary care BTW.

Throat burns post sleeve
kcuster83 replied to ShoppGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Man, acid reflux /GERD is horrible. Especially if it gets bad. I had it so bad before surgery I was on 2 meds and eating tums daily. This is why I went with Bypass. So far 2 months post op I still have zero acid problems. It is my understanding a lot of people have to get a revision from sleeve to Bypass for GERD resolution. I hope they can control it with meds! -
Differs from surgeon to surgeon, you should follow your surgeons plan. For example; @liveaboard15 shares he was on soft foods, but at 14 days I was JUST starting pureed foods. My plan was 2 weeks liquids, 2 weeks pureed, 2 weeks soft foods and then gradually back to a normal healthy diet. I have seen so many different alternatives though, I know someone who had sleeve and was on a liquid diet for 6 weeks!! Talk about harsh.

Not so cute but yummy. 2 oz. Cilantro lime chicken breast, 1oz air fried seasoned sweet potato and 1oz. steamed broccoli. -
This is how I felt eating lunch today. I just stopped eating and figured I would finish it for a snack later. I definitely didn't want to be sick for the rest of the afternoon at work. It really is such a change from what got us here, huh?

Great! Always good to keep your bum covered! It is sad how many people learn that the hard way.

Your salads always look amazing, if you lived near me I would buy them from you! lol I am almost ready to try salad again, I have eaten about every raw vegetable that I would want in a salad plus some. I just have went for the lettuce yet! That is next and then it is game on! -
They are so quick to tell you that you owe money but boy when it comes to them not getting money it takes FOREVER! I hope you have receipts.

Oh man, I would flip! I actually made sure I had a letter of approval from my insurance in my hands. I still ended up with $6400 out of pocket though. Insurance sucks!
