25 gram Protein yogurt: Ratio

I really wish I could get down with Greek yogurt. It is just too bitter/sour too me. -

I assume this is Greek yogurt since it has so much protein? -
More than 200lbs to lose

I don't have an answer but wanted to congratulate you on your success! That is amazing, keep up the good work and I am sure you will hit your goal. -
Definitely a question for the surgical team, I am not even sure your actual surgeon would even be able to answer that question. I have heard of this happening to people (non- related to WLS). I would assume the anesthesiologist would be the one who would be able to help address your concerns. Obviously, you don't know who that is yet so I would start with a discussion with your surgeon and maybe they could reach out to an anesthesiologist.

I was asked to pay a portion upfront (they gave me a dollar amount) but I explained that I was using a credit card to pay off my TOTAL out of pocket and the larger the amount I used the better special rate I received (my CC company had a promotion going on). They didn't argue, so I paid everything once I got the bill.

I ate lunch meat, cheeses, ground turkey with taco seasoning and a little cheese, egg salad, chicken salad. I think i even ate slow cooker chicken and turkey burgers.

I have been drinking them for years, wayy before WLS. Upwards of probably 10 years and have never had a problem till now. But I am literally 8 cases deep and still having the problem. Once I am thru this case I think I am going to take a break and make my own for a while.

I am having the same issue with Premier protein brand! But I buy the pre-mixed single serve shakes. Driving me crazy, I strain all of my shakes before I drink them now.

How to get rid of horrible taste and over salvation
kcuster83 replied to susanjane111's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The taste is likely ketosis. It makes your breath smell and taste bad. Nothing you can do about it as far as I know. Once you get back to a regular diet it will go away. The extra saliva, I don't know. Did you have sleeve or bypass? Could be acid related? Before I had surgery I had the worse GERD ever, and sometimes i would get extra salivay without the acid and my doctor said it was from the GERD. I don't know if that is your case, but worth asking about. -

can't catch a break
kcuster83 replied to Victoria_Faith's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I doubt they would cancel surgery especially after it already being a few days. I think that the only concern would be infection, they would definitely cancel surgery if there was even the slightest bit of infection. Call your team if you want to be sure and put your mind at ease. -
Questions - Contemplating Surgery
kcuster83 replied to Devi's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Your fears are normal! I would think it is safe to say we have all felt this way. I have lost 100+ lbs multiple times! I always know how to get it off but I haven't been able to master KEEPING it off. Which was my deciding factor for surgery. I was hoping that the smaller stomach would help me. I had the same worries, if I couldn't do it before what is the difference. I know of a few people that gained most or all plus some of their weight back. So I had the constant fear of why bother if I will just fail here too. I did it, and although I can't officially say I have been successful because I am not even a year post op. I can tell you that unless you eat non stop all day then you just can't enough enough. That is what I needed to help me. I can eat healthy but never felt full or satisfied. I hope to be one of the people here 5/10 years from now, encouraging people and inspiring them from my success alone. I wish I had done this years ago! You got this, you can do it with the help of your tool and a new mindset. I (we) are rooting for you!!! -
I had Cigna when I had my surgery. They required all of that, PLUS 4 month medically supervised weight monitoring. This was 6 classes I had to take through my surgery center. The center requires a minimum of 6 months regardless of insurance requirements, but I still had my surgery within 5 months. The woman at my surgery center told me that Cigna is one of the easiest insurance companies to work with and the quickest and easiest process for WLS approval. I had no issues.

So, so ready....

You got this, one day at a time. Don't rush it. Thinking about you! -
Seriously, what is with people of this world. Don't get me wrong, the noticed weight loss and compliments are nice.. to a point. Over the weekend I was at my VFW for a Thanksgiving food drive dropping off some donations and while standing at the corner of the bar talking to a bar tender a guy(who knows me from there and sees me all the time) came up behind me and said "excuse me BIG GUY!" I turned around and said I am a woman. Seriously WTF? My hair was down and it's LONG, I was wearing leggings and a hoodie... I know it was an accident but why "BIG" guy? He apologized and I just went about my day. Then I had someone close to me THE VERY NEXT DAY grab my hip and tell me I need to stop loosing weight, I am getting bony. Again, W.T.F? First off I weigh 260 lbs... not even close to where I want to be... and someone already said I am bony? RUDE! I am 6ft tall so even at 260 lbs I do realize I look bony in areas but I am seriously still chubby and FAR from "bony"! Then just yesterday at work, I was helping this guy understand a engineered drawing and in the middle of me explaining he says "Man Kim you are really slimming down"... Now, had he just stopped there it would have been fine but he goes on to say "I don't know how much you used to weigh but you have lost a lot so it must have been a lot".. ONCE AGAIN!... W...T...F?!?!? I know he meant it as a compliment, but seriously...what kind of compliment ends with you must have weighed a lot? I just said yea I was pretty fat and went back to what I was doing. lol Why can't people just leave it alone, stop commenting on people's bodies. Or, just simply say you are looking good. Or something basic and simple like such? Again, the compliments are nice and build confidence but I think people need to understand what classifies as a compliment and when they actually crossed the line to rude. Rant over...thanks. 😁

Wishing you well! -
Stalls happen, just stick with it and the scale will start moving again. Take measurements too, because sometimes when the scale stops the inches are still dropping.

I have heard of this being out patient more than once. Even with insurance. Don't stress, if you need to stay they will keep you! Good luck!

How did you lose so much weight? How do you answer this question
kcuster83 replied to omrhsn's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I don't tell people and didn't tell many people beforehand. Maybe 5 people know (at least directly know) Who knows what rumors have traveled or who ran their mouth. haha Anyway, I get asked "what is my trick", "how are you loosing weight" ETC!.... A LOT, I simply say, "eat less and count calories". Which is exactly what I am doing. -
Weirdest None-Scale-Victory - I'll go first
kcuster83 replied to chiquitatummy's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Here is a fun one! So, I have always been super fat so when it came to food in public I would over think things. For example: If we went to a serve yourself place (buffet, wedding, event, etc) I would NEVER bring back extra food or an extra plate for my wife or anyone I was with. I didn't want to be "the fat girl with 2 plates". Or, if we went somewhere with assigned seating, I would always get the pick of the seat I wanted, hoping to be an end seat so I can overflow into the isle... OK OK You get the point. We went to a Broadway show (Beetlejuice- was awesome, different conversation) and when I went to pick my seat my wife said "Nope you are smaller than me now, I want that seat" HAHA I didn't think much of it. But, then this weekend we were at an all inclusive resort which had like a late night snack grab and go thing. I said I was going to see what they had to get a snack and my wife says "bring me back something"... I did... 2 PLATES! THAT'S RIGHT, THAT'S THE NSV! HAHA I carried 2 plates of food back from the self serve bar and didn't even hesitate. Funny but a NSV for me, none the less!!! -
soft diet/ puree stage 3
kcuster83 replied to Nina35's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't imagine many people took pics of their mush. haha It all looks the same. I ate mostly refried beans, chili, ground turkey with taco seasoning and egg salad. All pureed of course. -
I took measurements the night before surgery. I wish I would have taken pictures monthly like other people, only because I think it would be pretty cool to look back on. I have only measured myself 1 other time since surgery and it was like 3/4 months out. I will probably measure again at my 1 yr mark. I weigh myself on Mondays (surgery day). I don't keep a journal or log or anything of that nature. I only use an APP to track my food and progress as far as weight. Good luck to you!
