Hi everyone. I have been banded since 2006 but I starting over like I was banded yesterday since my origingal doc was fired a month aafter my surgery and was left all alone. Got a new doc this past Friday and he has given me some renewed hope. Would love some support from fellow banders. Started my liquid diet this weekend and it is a struggle but I am determined. Hope to talk soon. Lisa

Thank you so much for your support and the info on the yahoo groups. I will have to check them out. My new Dr. is Dr. Watson, here at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where I work. He is really nice and really encouraging. I see him again tomorrow. He has had me on a liquid diet with just water and protein drinks since Friday, so I am eager to see him and see if I can eat some food again. He is going to take out more of my fill tomorrow, and then on August 29th he is going to have me do another upper GI and see me again. But I have lost 6 pounds since Friday. I am happy about that.

Hi everyone, I just joined this site. I live in Red Oak, but work downtown at UT Southwestern Medical Center. I would love to have a support group. I have been banded since 2006, but am pretty much starting all over due to a bad Dr. Would love to talk to someone, everyone. By the way, where do you get those weight loss tickers? I want one! Hope to talk soon, Lisa

Well I have been on lap-band for 2 and half years. My doctor was fired one month after my surgery, so I am starting all over again with a new doc who has put me on liquids for a week to shrink my stomach back down. So far I like boost high protein in the chocolate flavor. Not sure how good that one is for me though.

Banded in Dallas since 2006, but have hope again

Hi everyone. I was banded back on Feb 1,2006. My surgeon was fired shortly after my surgery and I have had no one following me since then. I lost 45 lbs on my own but have gained 10 back in the past year. I work for a great hospital (UT Southwestern Medical Center) and a doctor agreed to see me. He took half of my fill out on Friday and has put me on a liquid diet for a week. I can have Water and High Fiber Slim Fast and that's it. I was throwing up a lot and not losing weight, seems I couldn't eat anything. I had pretty much given up on the lap band working, but this dcotor has given me renewed hope. He said my stomach had stretched slightly above the band and that the liquid diet for a week should put everything back to normal. He is gonna treat me as if I had just gotten the lap band. They are gonna work with me on what foods to eat and which ones not to and so forth. So since I have had this for 2 and a half years I got on here cause I thought it would be nice to get some support and share what I know having been banded since 2006. Thanks everyone, Lisa -

Thank you. I am on my second day of liquids and it is so hard but I am determined. I see Dr. Watson on Wednesday and hopefully I can have some solid food by then. We will see.
