Tomorrow starts my 1000 high protein diet. I ate some favs this weekend and probably overdid it, but only for dinner. Stayed on track otherwise. Meals are all organized from now until I get home and through first couple of weeks. Sleeve surgery is April 6 th. Anyone else getting organized? Helps me mentally prepare too! I like to hear it is based on your BMI. My surgeon office approach is the same for all. I am sure there are exceptions and I did lose a lot of weight on my own before doing this so that may be why I wasn't asked to lose any additional weight. My BMI is 53. During our nutrition class, we were even told not to start doing the liquid diet any earlier because you needed to keep up your strength but just to make sure you were eating healthy.

I am intrigued by how varied each insurance company and surgeon requirements are by reading what we all must do. I did have an appointment to weigh in at the bariatric center and to meet the surgeon and have my picture taken. So many start a liquid diet three weeks out or more, just 3 days for me. It's all kinda crazy.

Good to know! Thanks for the update. Glad you are past the caffeine withdrawal. I never drank tea or coffee and gave up Coca cola years ago, so once less thing to endure at least for me. Lol I'm counting down the days til surgery now. I have to have a COVID test on April 1st then laying low until the 6th. My surgery is scheduled for 9:45am. When is yours?

I am not a doctor, of course, but by chemical, it means it is drug induced instead of exercise induced. So, I am guessing it probably is. You stick to your guns and let them know you are not comfortable doing the treadmill. You will do fine.

My hubby had to have a stress test before his surgery due to his age they said, he was 61. He had hip replacement surgery. They did a chemical stress test, no treadmill. I am sure they will do the same for you. Just ask. Sent from my Lenovo YT-X705F using BariatricPal mobile app

Sorry to hear about your husband's upcoming surgery. I had hernia surgery about 8 years ago now and because of the mesh they used, the surgeon thinks the sleeve is probably the best choice for me. Sent from my Lenovo YT-X705F using BariatricPal mobile app

I tell everyone. At first, I was hesitant, but now, I want to be able to share my story to help keep me accountable. We all have our own reasons for sharing or not and that is okay.

I have many colleagues that have had various bariatric surgery and most have done very well. They are all younger though. I am 57 and have many more years of bad habits to break. Lol. But I have a lot of determination to do it as well.

I work from home but was given clearance for three weeks off. I am going to take the full time to focus on me and establishing a good daily routine. Thanks for the reminder about the binder. I'm one day before you April 6 and was just given my surgery time. 3 days liquid diet for me with eight days of 1000 calories. I've ordered my vitamins. Bought broths, jello and such already. Trying to get myself mentally and physically prepared. I'm also having the gastric sleeve. I've taken my before measurements and pictures too.
