  1. Congrats! That is awesome and very inspiring
  2. My wife bought me a custom-made suit as an early birthday gift and it fits me perfectly. The first photo was taken on our wedding day 11 years ago and the other two were taken yesterday with the new suit. Wedding suit vs new suit 11 years after and 2 and half year post WLS. I need to buy new shoes as well since my old shoes are too big now
  3. It doesn't get any better than this. You are not alone. I was about to write a post about the exact same thing. I was on a 2-week holiday in Thailand and the same thing happened to me. I was 70 kg on the day we started our trip and now I'm 66.5 kg three weeks after. I lost like 3.5 kg or so which is amazing. Not sure if that is a water loss or what but I'm happy haha. I can't say the same about my wife though. She is blaming me for gaining 3 kg on the same trip. We ate like "tourists" and tried the many wonderful Thai dishes and made sure to keep hydrated. We did a lot of walking, a bit of swimming and ate a lot of fruits so that might have helped burn the calories from all the coconut milk rich dishes we tried there. I was burning more calories during the trip and more active according to my Apple Watch. The same thing happened to me on a similar previous trip so I can totally relate.
  4. It doesn't get any better than this. Being in love with yourself is the best feeling ever. I think we all can relate and understand what you mean.
  5. Amazing transformation!
  6. I can't use my weight as an excuse not to do things now. I miss the days when no one would ask me climb a ladder or do anything that requires physical activity (not really) haha. My foot size is smaller now so I can't wear many of my nice shoes. Time to buy new ones. I used to wear size 11 and now between 9.5 and 10
  7. First photo was 1 month before WLS (Dec 2021), the other photos were taken a week after my 2nd surgery-versary 8 Feb 2024. I noticed that I don't have any full body shots before the surgery. I was really conscious about my thighs and how big my lower body was. Not anymore haha
  8. Just came back from a short holiday with my kids and woke up to a nice surprise this morning after retuning to my work place. I had to call my wife right away to share the good news. I'm officially below my goal weight of 70 kg with a "NORMAL" BMI. I was worried I was not going to hit the goal before the second surgery-versary in January 24 but I did it. Playing on all the rides in Legoland theme park and chasing my kids on the beach must have helped me lose the last stubborn 1 kg 🤣. Here is a before and after. Left was a few months before the surgery (pants size 52") and right was two days ago (pants size 29"). Look at those thighs! You never realize how huge you were until you compare the before and after photos.
  9. Thanks! I feel amazing too
  10. We had a company function in December and I was the talk of the event. I didn't go last year so this was the first time a lot of people saw me since the WLS. I could tell that people were talking about me and many of them came over to say hi and ask me how I managed to lose the weight. I guess everyone had "lose weight" in their 2024 resolutions. I gave them the "eating healthy and cycling" answer and even showed them photos of my mountain bike. A lot of them reminded me of how huge I was before and that they were really concerned etc. This was the first time I'm hearing these comments which I assume were always made behind my back. Then they started talking the same about other people who need to lose weight calling them fat and make jokes about them. I was not amused and couldn't help it but telling them to stop. People can be really mean. You don't know what those people are going through and was struggles and problems do they have. Just because you are skinny doesn't make you a better person. Have you had a similar experience?
  11. That is awesome! I'm glad you are having fun.
  12. Thanks! Thank you so much! Thanks!
  13. Thank you so much! We all had a lot of fun on this trip specially my son. He was so happy that daddy could join him on the rides.
  14. Hi everyone. The mid-year sales are everywhere these days and I was trying to buy new shirts and pants online (my latest addiction). The "problem" that I'm facing is that it seems all the brands that I like only had sales on the big sizes (L, XL, XXL) but not M, S or XS. I don't recall this being a problem in the past haha. It must be a good problem to have then. This made wonder what other "good problems" I had since WLS. Here is what I could think of so far in addition to the one above: - I'm now working size S shirts. I need to find a brand that makes size XS shorts that fits nicely without being too tight. Two years ago, I was on the other end of the size chart / having custom-made shirt - We had a refresher safety training at site last week and I was chosen more than once to demo what we learned. I had to climb ladders, go into manholes (mock ones), confined spaces etc. I was never asked to do this before - I can't use my weight as an excuse for not doing stuff around the house that requires climbing on ladders etc. It would be interesting to hear yours.
  15. Hi. My brother is seriously considering to do the mini gastric bypass. He will be the third member in our family to do it. First it was my sister and me in Egypt and now it is his turn. He is currently working in Bangladesh and travelling to Egypt for the surgery is not a viable option for him. Anyone over here who had their MGB or WLS in India? Any recommended surgeons or hospitals to consider? Anyone had their WLS at Dr. AMAR BARIATRIC & METABOLIC CENTER? Thanks in advance

    I DID IT!!!!

Congrats! Sky diving is an awesome way to celebrate. I need to lose one more kilo to reach my goal weight which seems to be taking forever haha.
  17. Right photo was 1 month before WLS (Dec 2021), left was taken on my 41 birthday (Sep 23).
  18. Well done man! That is quite an achievement for one year
  19. Thanks! The past two years have been amazing. I guess it is true that life starts at 40 😂
  20. Not weird but awesome NSV here. I've always delayed getting a driving license until I lose weight. For some reason I convinced myself that I was too big (149 Kg before WLS) to be driving a car and that I won't be able to fit in the tiny cars used at the driving schools here in Malaysia. I saw a lot of people who were bigger than me driving around but I just couldn't get my head around it. My wife was the designated driver for quite sometime. After losing a considerable amount of weight, I finally got the confidence to do it. I started my driving lessons in July and finally got my driving license last month. I even bought a new car that I've always liked for my 41st birthday. Life keeps getting better and better after WLS.
  21. That is awesome! We are going zip lining next. Luckily all the rides had 80 kg limit except for one which was limited to 70 kg. I'm glad you both had fun. My wife was relieved she didn't have to go on all the rides with them anymore haha.
  22. We went for a short staycation over the weekend to celebrate my 41st birthday. We spent most of time playing in the nearby theme parks and water park and my kids wanted to try almost all the rides. Daddy was more than confident and happy to join the fun too. The fun we all had specially my son who very happy that daddy is riding with him made the WLS all worth it. Here is daddy squeezed into a tiny police car and train ride with little princess. We went shopping also and I got two shirts (as if I need more haha) in XS size which fit me like a glove. I'm still in disbelief. That was the best birthday ever.
