Hi there,
I just had surgery Tuesday, July 22nd. I feel great. Some advise, up until the day before surgery, you are on two protein shakes to replace breakfast and lunch and then a sensible dinner (low-fat, low-carbs), this helps shrink your liver and fat around your stomach for surgery. I strongly advise to keep with the diet. It truly helped me recover faster. The day before surgery, you are on clear liquids (crystal light, sugar-free jello, and broth), that's it. No protein shakes, absolutely nothing you can't see through a glass. I suggest the less you take in the day before surgery, the better off you are. It helps you from becoming sick after the surgery and believe me, you don't want to be vomiting after surgery. The Dr. will give you every kind of medication to prevent it but you can still help by not taking in as much the day before. Hope this helps!
