Hello! I'm new to the group.

It's one of the best decision's I've made in my life. I feel like it's a do-over. I'm going to do this half of my life right. Feeling healthy, feeling good and being more involved in my life instead of sitting back, eating and watching it go by. Every day is getting better. I feel like I have a ton of energy and the minimal amount of semi-liquids hasn't affected my hunger. I can't wait for my first check up and fill. This is a wonderful journey. I encourage all those who are undecided to do the research and listen to those that have been successful. I have no regrets. I feel like I finally have control of my life because I can control what I eat. It's the best feeling!

I need to vent or something

I'm sorry to hear you are having a rough time of it but now is not the time to give up. I was told by our support group nurse that it takes about five fills before the restriction is right. That's the most frustrating part of the process is getting the restriction to work for you. It will happen! Don't give up! And celebrate your loss! You've lost 15 lbs! That's wonderful! Be proud of yourself for accomplishing that! Hang in there, it'll get better and easier!
  5. Hi there, I just had surgery Tuesday, July 22nd. I feel great. Some advise, up until the day before surgery, you are on two protein shakes to replace breakfast and lunch and then a sensible dinner (low-fat, low-carbs), this helps shrink your liver and fat around your stomach for surgery. I strongly advise to keep with the diet. It truly helped me recover faster. The day before surgery, you are on clear liquids (crystal light, sugar-free jello, and broth), that's it. No protein shakes, absolutely nothing you can't see through a glass. I suggest the less you take in the day before surgery, the better off you are. It helps you from becoming sick after the surgery and believe me, you don't want to be vomiting after surgery. The Dr. will give you every kind of medication to prevent it but you can still help by not taking in as much the day before. Hope this helps!
