I just went shopping for the first time! I used to be a size 3x/4x. This is a large & it's somewhat a loose fit! It's perfect for what I want this winter but I was so sure it'd be form-fitting. I can't believe I'm in the 'straight size' section now

I had bought some of the Hello Kitty Forever 21 pajama pants in large as a wishful dream. I received my pair in the mail and held them up like "am I sure she didn't send the kids size??" Tried them on and I was absolutely shocked to find that they fit perfectly and without strangling my legs. I could've actually cried. Add onto that that I also got a pair of Torrid sleep pants in size 0 (sizing down from size 1 because before WLS the 1s could run large especially in the lounge/pajama pants). The 0 was so large on me that I had to reorder a 00. I'm so unbelievably happy and I never thought I'd get here.

Yes, I normally give everybody the benefit of the doubt thinking their comments are in good faith, but I can see what they see in the mirror and my looks may use some divine help. I am glad you look better now after passing the shock phase of weigh loss, I hope I am Lucky and have some improvement in the looks department.

I had a really odd NSV that ended up being a bit expensive lol. I’m only 4 weeks post op, but I was forced into a corporate meeting where I was going to have a wear a suit. I was PISSED. I have smaller and larger sized suits, but I was between the sizes I currently owned. Wasn’t about to invest in another suit. I managed to find something halfway decent at Kohls, and I was able to fit into a X-Large or Large off the rack. (the large size was generous and stretch, of course). Then I freaked out because all of the dress shoes I have are too narrow and small. I went to DSW and they were having a boot sale. Well, I went wild. I was so happy to be able to fit into tall REGULAR calf sized boots that I bought, ahem, SEVERAL pairs. 💰💵💸🤑. I couldn’t find pumps that fit, so I resurrected a pair of old pumps I had for the suit 🤣. My husband was confused because I went to buy dress shoes and walked out with two HUGE bags of boots. Lol. Good thing he loves me. Pic of me with a Christmas dress I’m planning to wear, and red knee high boots!

I finally can buckle my seatbelt on the plane without an extender. It had to happen twice for me to believe it!. Saw the Lion King on Broadway and I had extra room in my seat!! What a feeling!!!

I finally had to go shopping for jeans. I have went up and down so much over the years I had a HUGE range of sizes so I have been just working through the clothes I had in my closet.
    Well 2 NSV's this weekend:
1, I have shrunk out of all the stocked sizes, which means I am officially the smallest I have been in my adult life!
2, Size 16 fits loose! 14 is uncomfortably tight but did (barely) button! (Started my journey at a size 26)

I went to visit a potential preschool for my daughter with my wife last week. We were shown around and the teacher asked us to sit in one of the classes to explain their programs to us etc. They only had those small kindergarten chairs / stools. I asked for an adult chair and they didn't have any on that floor. I ended up setting on the kids chair and I was so worried that the poor chair was going to break. Well it didn't and it was OK when we left 😂. I wanted to ask my wife to take a photo of me sitting on that chair but the teacher was there haha. My daughter was so happy that I was sitting on the table and playing with her. Best feeling ever

Okay, here's a weird one and an unclear "victory":
I was going through airport security and after they did the backscatter screen, the one where they look at your naked body through your clothes with X-rays, they called me aside and did a very invasive and thorough pat-down, focusing on my groin area. This has never happened to me before, save at the Kathmandu airport where I'm pretty sure everyone just gets grabbed by the crotch as part of standard procedure.
As far as I can gather, I've now lost enough weight that my panniculus looks less like a fat belly and more like a low-slung bum bag full of drugs/explosives on their machine. Hoping that as it deflates, it looks less alarming and triggers fewer groin probings.

These leather boots. They are "Born" boots and usually around 200 bucks. I got them at Goodwill for 8 bucks. My calf was 23.5 at my highest weight and I really couldn't get knee high boots. I had a pair of extra wide calf boots back then that I broke the zipper on with my meaty old calves! I've always had "athletic" (I used that word extremely loosely here lol) calves so even now I'm around 15.5 inches, but these are regular calf boots and I could zip them and I'm so happy!

i would take the "stop losing weight " comments from others with a grain of salt.
when you lose weight quickly it may be jarring to others looking on from the outside. i theorize that their idea of your bigger self is relatively fresh in their minds so a skinner newer you seems drastically different. i also theorize that if you were to drop the weight slower over time u'd likely get less comments.
the same people who told me to stop losing weight when i was 160-ish lbs at 3-ish months (when i was still technically obese for effs sakes) are the same people who fawned over me when i got to 115 several months later.

    my personal anecdote:
i weigh less today than when i decided to stop losing weight. this decision to stop weight loss was because i thought i was getting too skinny at that time..
however....i look waaaaaaaay healthier (and hotter! lol) now than i did back then. back then i had thin hair, hallowed cheeks and eyes, and generally all around frail looking.
A few months after hitting my lowest weight, i started the to perk up in the looks department.
i think rapid weight loss really does a number to one's appearance...but i also think its only temporary (in my case at least, and quite a few others that i know of).
further, even though i looked pretty gaunt back then, i still think/thought i was all that and a bag of chips.

I guess we all have somebody like that in our lives, I have a cousin who told me " I will tell you what I did when I had a horrendous belly like yours" I had to force myself to believe in her good intentions but sometimes honesty like that hurts. That was the comment that made me think on G Bypass seriously.
I knew I was fat, and I think all the people who is knows it, I have always kept my opinions and comments to myself when I think they may hurt somebody, but I have to accept that sometimes even when I am trying to praise somebody I may have screwed up. Forgive and forget.

Yesterday I was laying in bed. On my back flat and suddenly realized my boobs are higher than my stomach!!! I really think this is the first time EVER!
I have always had small boobs, and now deflated small boobs so this is really saying something! hahaha
I didn't see my stomach! Even when I inflated or pushed it up my boobs were still higher! WOOHOO
Also... hip bones..like real hip bones sticking out like skinny folk. Only when I am laying on my side cause all the skin lays on the bed.. but I WILL TAKE IT!

Ok, I can speak on this since I literally went through this exact thing. First of all, you are in a stall. The first one usually hits around 3 weeks, but it can be a little earlier (like it was for me) or a little later. Keep eating what's in the plan, no more and no less, and get your walking in (maybe look into getting some ankle and wrist weights).
That leads me to my 2nd point. Look for non scale victories. Anytime I hit a stall, I started trying on clothes and rings and looking at my neck and face and chin. The scale may not be moving, but that doesn't mean things aren't happening. The first time I was able to sit in a booth and there was space between my stomach and the table, I was elated. When my clothes were literally falling off me and my ring came off twice, I was ecstatic. Just because the scale is being stubborn doesn't mean progress isn't being made.
Third, you have to eat. This will sound crazy, but if you restrict too much, your body will think it's starving and it will hold on to every little bit of weight it can. My dietician wanted me to stay at 700-800 calories per day, 50 or less carbs, 50 or less fats, and 60-80g Protein. My body didn't like that at all. Not one bit. I hit stall after stall, would drop maybe 1 or 2 pounds, then nothing. I started experimenting and found that between 1050 - 1200 calories per day, 25-35 carbs per day, 70-90 fats per day, and 90-95g protein per day was where my body was happiest. I work out for 45 min - 1 hour 5 days per week. And then I started seeing MUCH better results, both on and off the scale. Now, I'm not saying that works for everyone, and those amounts are specific to MY body, and my body alone. But at about 3 1/2 months post op, I knew I had to do something. You body NEEDS food. It's like depriving your car of gas and then being surprised it won't go. Same thing.
Lastly, I was in such a disordered way of thinking and behaving that I HAD to go to therapy. I'm still in it, actually. I had myself working out 2 hours per day every single day, living on flavored water, 300-400 calories per day, 10-15 carbs per day, almost no fats at all, and 40 or so grams of protein. And the less weight I lost, the harder I pushed my body and restricted what I gave it. I was so afraid of eating because I was convinced every bite would put all the weight back on. I was, at one point, eating 1 meal per day that I would make stretch all day and loading up on flavored Water to curb the hunger pains. It's scary to think about what I was doing to myself. Find a therapist that specializes in bariatric surgery, and if you can find one that also works with people with eating disorders, that's even better. That's what I did. I still struggle sometimes, but I remember how far I've come and how much healthier and stronger my body is, and it helps me push past the feelings of wanting to cut my food and load up on water again. But a therapist is really important right now. I waited until I was in the thick of it before I even posted about it here, and I was encouraged to find a therapist, which was the best thing I could have done. I swapped one disordered way of thinking for another. I'm making my way back from it, but I'm still a work in progress. You can do this. I wish you all the luck

Made a pot roast from part of that brisket I bought a couple weeks ago (Also broke it down into 5.5lbs of ground beef/ stew meat and a corned beef for next week.). I actually spit out the last piece of roast I was chewing because I felt full. It was also onions and potatoes.
