Insurance waiting can be so nerve wrecking! It sucks because you just want to be sure that you are not going through everything for nothing. Don't give up and keep on them! It will be worth it. Good luck to you on your band journey!

Hi Nichole
I was banded on 9/24/08. At 6 months I lost 115 lbs! The band is whatever you want to put into it. I work out a lot and I do not eat fried or fatty foods. I won't eat any fatty mayo or dressings. I only drink milk and water. (Continued)

I would rather eat my calroies than drink them. I run on the treadmil for 2 miles at lunch and then do a 50 min workout at home. I will do 100 sit ups before I go to bed at night. It is all in what you put into it. I had a little trouble when I went in to get a fill. I was 5 months and just going in for my first fill. They found out that my port had flipped and I would have to go back in for surgery to get it stiched back in. After the revision surgery (two weeks later) I was able to get my first fill. After the fill I kept having problems with certain foods. I would have to throw up about every other day. I told my doctor and the suggested that I come in to have some fluid taken out. The doctors weighed me and found out that I was losing 5 lbs a week. Which is great weight loss for me but I told them I would rather not lose it that way. So they took out .10CC of fluid and I have been doing great again! I am on my average 3 lbs weight loss a week and I can eat anything so far.

My Surgery went fine. Hopefully now my port is in the right way and I will be able to get a fill. I go in on the 24th to see how I am healing. I hope all goes well for you with your fill. Hopefully they can hit it on the first try!

Thank you for the complement. I am doing a lot of exersize and I don't eat fatty foods such as fast food, fried foods, fatty mayo ect. If I snack on anything I eat apple slices instead of chips. I run on the treadmil for 2 miles a day. Then I will do either Firm total body or Jillian Micheals Fat zones for strength training and I finish by doing 100 sit ups. If the weather is nice I will add an evening walk around the park for another 2-3 miles. How is your journey going? Keep in touch

Hi
I eat normally an apple for breakfast, a banana w/ a tsp of reduced fat peanut butter on it for lunch, 2oz of grilled or baked chicken breast with 2oz of fruit and 2oz of veggies for dinner. I normally take my protein drink about 20 min. after I do my work out. I will run for 1.9 miles on the treadmil, 100 situps, either Firm total body sculpt or Jillian micheals fat zone for 50 min. I am really loving my band but I just found out that my port is upside down
I have never had a fill and when I finally went in to get one I found out that it is upside down. I will have to go in for surgery tomorrow. I am really bummed. Have you been banded yet? Good luck to you and your journey!
