Hey Becky, LL just has a weird shape head, and plus I think he had a complex about being bald. But I love a bald man any day:thumbup:

Hey, No. My doctor didn't give me any medicine for my gall bladder, but I have read on other postings where people talk about having problems with their gall bladder or having to have gall bladder surgery. The only medicine my doctor prescribed was something that had me knock out like that! Yes. Girl I'm digging his new cut I'm going to let LL get my "Head Sprung".:smile2:

Hey Razzy! Hey Becky! It's me...the other LL Cool J Fan! Shout to Becky! I thought you already had your surgery Becky. I had my surgery 8/4/08. So I'm a newbie. I've lost 12lbs since my surgery. I'm in the healing stage incisions have healed completely. i will have my first fill on 9/12/08. Can't wait because now I'm getting hungry but a half cup of food does fill me up. I don't have the craving to eat late at night anymore. If i drink to much Water too fast that fills me up as well. I hope i answer some questions but If you have an specific question please ask:wink_smile:

Did my Surgeon put a bowling ball in my Tummy?
Melolo replied to Gautinggirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Oh! I know what you mean. I always feel sick towards the end of the day. I usually have trouble keeping my pants around my belly because of the port sight. It kind of reminded me of when I was pregnant. I literally felt sick if anybody touch my stomach or if the waist band from my pants were around my stomach. That's the way it feels sometime and I try to relieve the discomfort by putting my waist band up under my stomach but sometimes that doesn't help. So by the end of the day I'm running to get home so that I can strip down and put on my roomie night gown. Also after the surgery my tummy looked so funny it looked like it was loped sided...like there was a lump on the left side. Weird! But I do feel you on what you're feeling. Oh yea! I forgot to mention I had had episode where I felt a sharp and dull pain near the port site and I called and talked to the nurse. The nurse informed me that I had nothing to be scared about, and he's seen this in a lot of patients... He described it as scarred tissue. I explained that my incision is completely healed and that the pain came from that area but underneath the port incision. The nurse told me that was scarred tissue forming. I thought that maybe it was the port flipping:blushing: -
Hey, I'm on my 3rd week as well. I had my surgery on 8/4/08. But I was told I can start my mechanical soft foods this week and next week. I'm also scheduled for my first fill 9/12/08. During that week I was told to eat regular food. I get full fast but there is not enough restriction. I get so hungry. I havn't lost anymore weight since the 12lbs I lost the first week:glare: Oh well!

Should people barely over 200 lbs or below 200 get Lapband or any WLS...?
Melolo replied to Froggi's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hey! Just my opinion...But I know how it feels for someone to think that you can do it yourself. People would judge me and say that you're just being lazy, or you're not trying hard enough. For years I had people telling me that I needed to stop watching tv and get off my lazy fat ass (of course they didn't say these exact words to my face). I was told to eat less and exercise more. By the way I'm 5'8. But little did they know that I have Thyroid issues and that I'm a twice cancer survivor. I've been through radiation once and chemo twice. Do you know the toll that takes on your body? I was literally too tired to do anything after work. No matter how hard I tried to psych myself out. My body just wasn't having it. But I do understand your question and I use to be like why do you need the band. You're not morbidly obese. You have less then 60lbs to lose. But I've change my way of thinking. Plus I would hope that no person would elect to have sugery when deep in their heart they know there was a less invasive alternative to losing weight that they could have tried but instead chose what they thought would be a easy way out. Now that's just crazy. Just my opinion.:smile2: -
Hey! I was banded 8/4/08. Last week was the worse and when I had my one week checkup... I told the nurse that the itching was driving me crazy. He suggested benadryl and some hydrocortisone cream. Aaaaahhhh! Relief! Slept like a baby.

1st fill sept 2 (also have a question)
Melolo replied to ride or die's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hey, I had my lap band surgery on 8/4/08. I had my pick of the Allergan which is the older Lap band or the Realize Band. My doctor explained that there is no difference between the two he couldn't give me any pros or cons when it came to which one was better or worse. Because he said they're pretty much the same just made by different companies. He said that the choice was up to me in regards to which one I wanted. I picked the Realize Band because of the port that is the only difference that was pointed out by my doctor. The Realize Band port is a little smaller and flatter in size and it is stapled in instead of being stitched in like the Allergan band port. And since I will probably have a tummy tuck with my breast recontruction the port will be less noticeable...the nurse suggested the Realize Band for it's smaller port. The second difference is that you receive a support system with your Realize Band. The doctor should have given you a booklet with you password or registration number. So I hope this information helps. It's All Good!!! -

Missrach, I agree with those choices too except Vin Diesel. But you know ladies let me put this out there because I know some of you are probably thinking...Dang! She likes everybody. Well there's a reason... I'M SO DAMN MAN CRAZY AND I CAN'T HELP MYSELF!!! I NEED HELP LADIES I use to think that's what I get for being fat because If my body was the way it was back then I would have them lining up. Now don't get me wrong I do good now as a Big Beautiful Carmel Sister. But when the weight is gone and I have more energy...HOT DAMN IT'S ON LIKE DONKEY KON:) -

Hi! To answer your question...It really depends on your body and the way you bounce back. Before I had my operation I kept hearing people say that they were back to work after a couple of days. So I told my boss that after having my operation on a Monday 8/4/08 that I would be back to work that Thursday 8/7/08. Girl please... I didn't make it back to work until this past Monday 8/11/08. When I was home that Tuesday and Wednesday after my operation those were the worse. My body couldn't get it together. So I politely called in and told my supervisor that I would be taking the rest of the week off. Whatever you decide to do remember to take it easy and don't rush the healing process. Your body will thank you.

Kristen~ Yes it feel good! I hope you're losing as well. I know one thing that's making it hard for me is being around my family while they eat. But I'm doing it. One day at a time right? I'm sending good vibes your way:thumbup:

CONGRAGULATIONS!!! WOW! Way to go! I've just had my surgery last Monday. And I can't wait to get to where you're at when it comes to weight loss. Please be encourage. If you feel you are doing everything right and it's come to a stand still... Then maybe you should see your doctor. Talk to him about getting a slight fill or if you believe it could be thyroid realted then ask him to prescribe some Lab work. I have a slight thyroid problem and my doctor prescribed me some medication for it today. Talk with your doctor and let him know everything you're doing to lose weight. My Lap Band Surgeon recommended that I do the South Beach diet which emphasize more protien and vegetables. Especially protien so that I'm feeding muscle and not fat. Are you lifting weights that burns calories and tones the body. All I know is that you need to keep going and not be down on yourself. The weight that you have lost is nothing to laugh at you should be very proud of yourself.:Banane37: -

Thanks, I feel a lot better since my post op checkup yesterday. The doctor put me on a puree diet until Sunday 8/17/08. It was confirmed that I did loose 12lbs since last Monday 8/4/08 (surgery day). They also made an appt for my first fill 9/12/08. Yeah:lol: And I've found some relief from that pesky itching. They told me to take Benadryl and put some Hydrocortisone on my wounds. Aahh! What a relief.:crying: -

Hey! I went in for my one week after surgery visit. I've lost 12lbs since last Monday 8/4/08 (surgery day) Yeah! The nurse put me on a puree diet. You know it's a new experience to put every thing in a blender and it comes out looking like something totally different. I never thought I would be eating food that looked and smell like baby food. I'm schedule for my first fill 9/12/08. I can't wait. Oh yeah by the way he took the rest of my badages off. Which made the itching worst. He prescribed some Benadryl and Hydrocortisone Cream for my wounds. Oooh Baby! Relief! Thank You Jesus! Hang on in there ladies it can only get better:rolleyes2: -
