  1. Mini, You look fantastic! And 30 lbs is great. Be proud of yourself!
  2. Munch, you look fantastic! And that dress is great, too. Mini, yes we have early voting here in CO. It is amazing how much attention our state has gotten from the candidates. Did you guys see the SNL skit last night with Tina Fey and McCain? Hysterical! McCain, Fey-lin Make 'SNL' Sales Pitch
  3. Anybody else have a hernia repair at the same time as getting their lap band put in? I didn't know I needed it, but woke up to find out I did and that my doc fixed it. Did this affect your recovery time/pain, etc.?
  4. Slumber party with him? Oooh YUMMY! Looks like somebody else had the same idea!Barack Obama Tiger Beat Cover Clinches Slumber Party Vote | The Onion - America's Finest News Source Jme, you are not alone. I think we all felt the same way. Hang in there, you are doing the right thing for you.
  5. Jme, try 50 mg of zinc, twice a day. Sleep with vaporizier near your bed, head up on 2 pillows. Good luck!
  6. Deb, I think you're doing great. You want a little wine, hey, enjoy! Marcy, have a great time in Hawaii!!!
  7. Jme, Dr. K told me I don't have to drink a protein shake between meals, if you want you can eat a protein snack instead, such as a cheese stick or small piece of chicken. Lotza, Congrats on the 25 lbs! Hey everybody, Here is a link to a lap banders diet using an exchange system. It was a big help for me. http://www.brighamandwomens.org/weightmanagement/Postop%20lap%20band%20diet.aspx
  8. Sorry Munch! I didn't know you lived that close. What city are you in??
  9. Deb, November should be just fine. Really, when we get snow here it melts so quickly it is no big deal. Roads are kept clear, especially to/from the airport. Munch, I tried to post last night. The website has been so slow, and it would not let me advance pages, so i just gave up. Bella, So sorry about your ER bills. It is just insane, isn't it. Hope things look up soon! I had fun in Chicago on my trip, but didn't do too great eating. I think I need another fill since I still can eat way too much.
  10. Hey ladies, I'll be gone for a few days and didn't want you worrying! I'll bein Chicago for a conference through Sunday. Almost all the meals are provided, so wish me luck with that. Should be a really fun time, though.
  11. Thanks, it was great to meet you too. You are doing so teriffic in such a short time - very inspiring. How did it go being on the panel at the seminar? Hope to see you at RR on 11/4.

    Colorado Anyone

Hi Colorado Bandsters! It was great to meet a few of you last week at Red Robin. Just wanted you to know we have another Red Robin night scheduled: Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 7:00, I-25 and Arapahoe. Hope to see you all again! I really enjoy meeting other bandsters and hearing how you are doing with the band lifestyle.
  13. Dr. K's support group is normally the 1st Tuesday, but in November it got moved to 11/11.
  14. Dee, Your before and after photos look great. You have really worked hard in a year to make so much progress. Is our 11/4 Red Robin at 7:00 too? Deb, I think no matter what we weigh, we all feel like the biggest girl in the room. I sure feel that way here at work where everybody is skinny. I always joke when those surveys come out that Colorado is the least overweight state that I should move to Arkansas or Alabama where I would look thinner in comparison. Mal, Sorry your kids have the bug. I had it last week. Good news is that it passes quickly. Brandy, I hope you're feeling well after surgery. Good luck with the PS consult. Jme, See you soon! I did check out that thread. OMG I was shocked at how some of those folks are practially living on one lettuce leaf a day. I eat around 1200 calories. I guess that is too much, but I'm really not sure. It certainly is a lot less than before surgery.
  15. Thanks, Jme. I will check that out for sure! Dee, I'll be there, see you tonight.
  16. Hello everybody, I've asked my doctor's office and the nutritionist for a sample week long menu of what real lap band patients are eating. Amazingly, nobody has this. They told me to look at WW or South Beach. Of course, I know what a band patient can eat is not the same. Could you please send me, either on here, or by PM, or PM me and I will send you my email, a sample of what you eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks, if any? I will put together in a word document and send to anybody who wants it. As a relatively newbie to the band, this would help me a lot. If you want to include the recipe of what you eat, that's fine too. Thank you!!!

  18. Deb, Congratulations on your wedding! I'm delighted for you. Can't wait to see photos. Munch, So, the universe has finally noticed that you are a hottie - yeah! That is so fun, enjoy it. You deserve it. Bahot, Have an awesome time in Cancun. I've never been there, so look forward to hearing the details about your fun in the sun. Michelle, I have no idea what your snap crackle poppping could be. I would call Dr. K on Monday. If it was me, I would guess gas...I have never had so much gas since I got the band. I think my 2nd fill finally did the trick. I'm eating what I"m supposed to, and feeling full. Life is good! It was a free day at both the zoo and botanic gardens today. I drove by the zoo, and there was no parking for miles, so I took a walk around the botanic gardens for some fresh air and exercise. Yeah! :w00t:
  19. Jme, I'm sorry those guys were such jerks. Don't worry, karma will get them in the end. The next time you see them, you'll be lovely and they'll still be jerks. Deb, your beach trip with tucker sounds great. Congrats on the self restraint when eating out. That can be so hard. Prty, Count me in for the 20th. I'll see you at 7pm. I had my first real meal other than liquids after my fill, it was nice to eat a small amount and be full. Mini, that is weird about the delayed fill reaction...have the rest of you had that before? For the challenge, I stayed the same this week. Marcy, I want to come to your fill party. You know, 10 years from now, that might even be common as the band gets more popular.
  20. Wow, I can hardly believe nobody has posted all day! Where are the chatty girls??? 2nd fill went much, much, better. Tom was great. I haven't tried to eat solids yet, so don't know about the restriction so far.
  21. Jme, Love the princess plates! I'm using tupperware divided toddler plates myself. They are perfect since they hold 1 cup in 3 sections. My port is about 3.5 inches above my belly button, and a little to my left. I only feel it if I go digging for it. Otherwise I don't notice it at all. Dee, Go girl! Your progress is inspiring. Lotza, I'm so sorry about your Dad. Sending positive thoughts your way. I'm getting my 2nd fill today, this time with Tom. Wish me luck, as 1st one was not much fun.
  22. How did your fill go? Do you feel much different? I have my 2nd fill tomorrow. I got 1.8 cc and have a 10cc band. My fill seemed to work great, but only for a few days. My scars are fading fast too, I'm glad about that.

  23. Lotza, I'm so happy your Dad is doing well. Sounds like he'll be home in no time. I decided to get another fill this week. I'm still hungry after just a few hours, and feel like I can eat too much at each meal. Going to try Tom this time.

    Really want a soda

I feel your pain, I miss Diet Coke really bad. But, my doctor said carbonation actually increases inside your body, due to heat, and that it stretches out the small upper pouch. So, he said no sodas again, ever. They do make sugar free popsicles in diet soda flavors. I tried them and was not thrilled, but that might help. Hang in there.
