March... our 6 month bandiversary... where are we now?

wow, reading all the posts in this thread is inspiring - you all have done so well. I am just a tad over halfway to goal, and will be a happy girl once I get to 199. My hair is fine, but my fingernails are dry and so short now. I seem to get stuck a lot, think that is related to eating while under stress at times. Keep up the great work everybody, can't wait to see where were are at 1 year. -

Please mark me down for -1 this week. I ate ok, but did not exercise much. -
Ah well, thought you fellows would like an update. Mr. X never did call me again. He did send a text last week to say "hi, wish I could call, but it's late and I've been so busy". I responded with a text, but nothing further from him. Have had a first date with Mr. Y. He is not nearly such a pretty boy as Mr. X, but since the date has already called, sent an ecard, and asked me out for date #2. So, am looking forward to that 2nd date instead. Thanks again mens room guys!

I just vomit up the food when it is hurting. I get a stabbing heartburn feeling in the middle of my chest. All I have to do is think about it, and up it comes. And then I feel so much better! Now, this is different than having the flu type vomiting, because it isn't all bile-laden from being digested in my stomach. It just looks like chewed up food. Yuck - are we disgusting girls or what?? LOL! Yes, 4 of us braved the snow to get to Red Robin: snowgator, Kayleigh's Mommy, magaines, and laptastic, at least I think I remember everybody's screen name correctly. Want to plan a May Red Robin night? How about Tuesday May 5th? -

Happy to hear you're doing well, Jamie. Broccoli is EVIL! I used to like it pre-band, but now...no way. We should make a list of our now un-favorite foods. I'll add these: blueberries, eggs, bread, pasta, steak... -

Bummer! I was looking forward to seeing everybody. Weather is not bad here in SE Denver. Is everybody else staying home too? -
Thanks for the advice, guys. I did ask, and he said he wished he could, but he had his bowling league on Tuesday nights. And I think this is probably true, since he had mentioned before that he was in a league. So, I figure ball is now in his court. We'll see if he calls to ask me out again.

Look at my ticker today - I am so excited to be half-way to goal! Now hoping to see the numbers "199" on my scale one day soon. It's been 6 months, best decision ever. Hey Denver area nurses, just wanted to give you a heads up that Dr. K is scheduled to do a grand rounds on the topic of "Obesity Management": Friday, April 24, 12-1, Medical Center of Aurora, North Campus, Ed Lord Room. I think it would be great if a few of us could surprise him by showing up. -

[Nora- Not so good. Dr Shofnos came out and told me the nodes were cancerous. We went to RM Cancer Center in Parker yesterday. It is small cell lung cancer. She is starting chemo on Monday. This is kind of funny (in a sad way) : after her surgery she was complaining about a LOT of pain... then said her right arm was numb. They sent her for a MRI, and ordered a neurological consult . Dr Shafnos (sp?) came to the waiting room to tell me this, also to tell me that nothing they had done would cause this... at the most if he had hit/injured a nerve it would be on the left side, not the right. He called me in the waiting room later and told me her brain was fine.... no stroke that day,,, or ever. I just said "told ya so" they kept her over night and she came home Friday afternoon. Even though she is a huge faker, I know this is a very real, very serious illness. We have a long road ahead of us with treatments and such. Thanks for asking, it was so great taling to you, and I look forward to seeing you on Wednesday. I"m so sorry to hear about the Ca diagnosis. She is so fortunate to have you as a support person. And I know your family means the world to her, too! -

Look forward to seeing everybody on Wed! I'm probably going to bring my friend Kathy, too. She had LB surgery in Jan. by another doc. Does anyone need size 18's/20, on the tall side? I can bring mine on Wed night. Kayleigh's Mommy: how is your MIL doing after her surgery? Sorry I didn't get to see you that day in recovery, they kept me in pre-op the entire day. Has anyone found new silverware in a smaller size? I was at crate & barrell over the weekend and found a nice set called "hazel" which is very delicate and streamlined. You can see it on the C&B website, too. Just wondered if there were any other options. My standard size huge forks and spoons are not doing me, or my family, any favors. I am one pound away from being half-way to goal. Darn that one pound - keeps hanging on me! Oh, if anybody is trying to improve their belly scars, I had Jennie Powell, the RN at Lone Tree Facial Plastic Surgery Center treat mine with the v-beam laser, and it worked pretty well to reduce the redness in only a few days. www.lonetreefacial.com -

Sounds like a plan! Either Red Robin or Panera would be great with me. -
Hello ladies, Thanks for the tips on the JS extensions! I have had not quite shoulder length hair for way too long and am so tired of it. I have a couple questions...is it hot? or itchy? Can you wear it all day at work? I"m a nurse. Also, I didn't see a medium brown. Fairy, my hair is about your color. Is that the ginger brown? Thanks so much!

Hi Dee, I feel your pain. I just have the one daughter too, and being divorced, I thought it was going to kill me when she went to college and I was left home alone. But, it really is ok. First, would you rather have her living in your basement for the next 5 years, working at Mc Donalds with no career goals? Of course not. Second, you are still the momma, and she still needs you. You'll be surprised how often she calls, texts, emails, etc. You'll be in touch almost every day. Trust me, it gets better. You'll see it is not so bad when it does happen, and I know you are so proud of her. Hope you see you soon at RR! -

Hello Dr. S, I have heard about a new product called Latisse for eyelashes. Do you think this is safe? Is it like Rogaine, in that you have to use it forever for the results to last? thank you!

Hi Everybody, I've been lurking, but haven't posted in a while. I lost my job, so have been doing PRN nursing work at 2 places. Also spent a few nights in the hospital with Norovirus..yuck. On the positive side of things, weight is coming off with the nursing work, and I am exercising more. Still have good restriction from my fill. Are we having a March RR night? Miss seeing my peeps!
