Hello! I was pre-approved in July 2021 too. My insurance required 6 months of nutritional classes which I started the first week in August and finished first week of January 2022. I’m in Anaheim! So we’re neighbors! After the nutritional class which was all done through Zoom there was a zoom doctors talk. And a phone psych consult. Lots of hoops and loops! I thought I’d get a surgery date first and then do the pre-op testing needed and the surgical clearance but apparently it’s the other way around as they have told me. I know that the Covid omicron surge may have muddled the wait times. and that my place Smart Dimensions has a lot ALOT of patients in the queues. I wish the process could have been explained more straightforwardly and been more expedient. I have some pre-op procedures on the 1st, chest x-ray and upper GI and clearance but I haven’t been given a walk-through or instructions about a liquid diet beforehand. Will that be next? Lol! I’m ready for the next hoop! Good Luck with your upcoming surgery!

Good thoughts going out to all! I meet with my primary doc on March 1, have pending authorizations for upper gi and chest X-ray, and then I will get my surgery date. I hope it’s in March. But if it’s not I will keep on swimming (like dory from finding Nemo says)

I’ve completed all requirements. Now I’m just waiting on a surgery date. How long will this step take?

Thank you all for the feedback. I emailed the two coordinators that I have been in contact with and they said I’ve been assigned to the pre-op coordinator now and she should be contacting me regarding pre-op labs within a few days. One of the coordinators gave me her phone number so trust and believe that I will be calling if I don’t hear from her. I think this place does a lot of surgeries. I know they could be better organized. I’m looking forward to excess weigh not paining my arthritic knees and ankles! And maybe being very cold all the time. 🤤

It’s been 4 days since the insurance approved. I’m going to inquire. It can’t hurt. I feel like the squeaky wheel!
