Hi Everyone, I can't believe it's already been nearly 27 weeks since my sleeve surgery on Feb. 1. So far, I've lost 79.6 pounds since my starting pre-op weight. I feel so much better and energetic without the extra weight, and I love being able to fit into smaller clothes. I saved a lot of my work clothes from past years, so I'm now able to wear those clothes again. I still have a long ways to go before I reach my goal weight, but the positive aspect of this is that I feel so much better than I did before the surgery. My weight loss is slower than many others, but I still see the weight coming off regularly, so that keeps me going. I also went on a two week vacation and didn't do very well sticking to my eating plan, so that slowed me down for a while, too. Overall, though, things are really good. I hope others are doing well, too! -

Hi Everyone, I had the gastric sleeve surgery on February 1, and tomorrow will mark 16 weeks since my surgery. I'm doing pretty well (65.3 pounds down since start of pre-op two week diet, and 48 pounds down since the surgery), but I've definitely noticed that my weight loss is slowing down. I'm a little worried that I'm starting to snack more often (I'm loving sugar free chocolate pudding make with skim milk), and I need to focus on not resuming the snacking habit and sticking to my five small meals per day. I think I'm also starting to slack a bit on my protein intake - I'm averaging only 56 grams of protein a day for the past two weeks since I had a work trip out of town and struggled to get enough protein while traveling. I also need to work on maintaining my fluid intake. I guess I'm revealing this here to reinforce that I need to be accountable to my goals. I hope everyone is doing well! -

Hi there! I'm now a month and two days from my sleeve surgery on Feb. 1. It's been amazing to watch the pounds fall off - I'm down 25 pounds since surgery and 42 pounds since the start of my two-week pre-op diet. This week, I moved up from pureed foods to soft foods. That's *mostly* been a good experience, and I'm especially happy to have more variety in my diet now. The main challenge is that with soft foods, I find that chewing thoroughly and slowing down between bites is even more crucial than with pureed foods. I think due to stress and work busy-ness, I tend to be a fast eater. Well, I experienced the consequences of that today after eating some deli sliced turkey on saltine crackers at lunch - I ended up with severe chest pain and then had the dreaded foamies. So, I still have some adjusting to do as a result of the sleeve. Also, I'm so annoyed that I didn't take all of my measurements right before surgery. I ended up taking them a few weeks ago and again today, and it's great to see the inches come off. If you haven't yet gotten the tape measure out, I encourage you to do it! I hope everyone is doing well and recovering quickly from surgery. -

Wonderful! I hope you have a wonderful trip to Europe! I traveled abroad by myself quite a bit when I was in my 20s and had some amazing experiences. I wish you the best! -

Since I started puréed foods, I’ve had hummus and saltine crackers (either I ate it too fast or it didn’t agree with me, bc I had chest pains both times I tried it). I also had cottage cheese a couple times without much trouble and refried beans with some melted shredded cheese on top. Today, I tried tuna fish with a tablespoon of mayo, which I also ate with saltine crackers. That was really good. I’m planning to try the recipe for Shelly’s ricotta bake soon. What puréed foods have you tried so far? -

Hey there - I just want to share that I had the sleeve surgery on Feb. 1, and since starting the pre-op diet on Jan. 13, I’m down 33.7 pounds and down 16.4 pounds since the surgery. And this week, I’m officially down a clothing size from 18W pants to 16W, which feels great. I started the puréed food stage on Tuesday, and like many others have shared, I can definitely feel my restriction more than I could with full liquids. I’m still learning to slow down when I eat and to eat smaller bites so that I don’t feel an uncomfortable fullness sensation in my chest. Other than that, things are going really well. I hope others are doing well, too. -

On the day of surgery, I had a lot of uncomfortable nausea, but that was ultimately relieved with medication that also made me drowsy, allowing me to get some sleep. I also had some cramping in my back, and a medication for cramping also helped relieve that. I was expecting gas pain, but I really didn’t have much at all. I also walked several times on day 1. By day 2 post-op, I was feeling much better. I felt strong walking the halls and discomfort was minimal. It was challenging to take small sips every few minutes. Too large of a sip, and I would get pain in my chest. Since surgery, I feel a little better every day and more comfortable with sipping and eating at the right pace and in the right amounts. -

I’m also 3 days post-op. Everything’s gone smoothly so far, thank goodness. I’m at home and getting used to the full liquid phase. Strained cream of chicken soup and Premier chocolate shakes are my buddies right now. -

Hi Everyone! I’m getting the sleeve on Feb. 1 - just 6 days away. I’ve been on the pre-op diet for just over a week, and I lost 10 pounds on it so far. I’m not having hunger pains, but I do have some extra fatigue. I just try to remind myself that this is a temporary stage on the path to greater health and wellness. Good luck to everyone on this journey!
