  1. Thanks for the words of wisdom, Vegas Girl! I have been walking quite a bit and I think I need to shake things up and do something different. I guess that means getting up at the crack of dawn to do a video or something. I gave up on the 1/2 cup of food and started eating a little bit more...I think that will change again after my fill. I haven't visted the scale for a couple of days and I plan to stay away until my appointment...hopefully I'll have a suprize waiting for me when I look down! Thanks for the support. I'll keep you informed!
  2. Hi gang! So, I've had my band since August 6th. I lost 19 pounds REALLY FAST! Since then, I haven't lost ANYTHING! I go for my first fill on Thursday and I really hope that starts me back on the losing streak...I'm starting to get bummed out! My body ALWAYS sticks right here at my current weight and I was sort of hoping the band would get me past this point that no other diets had been able to. I think my body loves weighing 220! Anyone out there in band land that can tell me it's going to start falling off again??? I didn't pay out the nose for this surgery to lose 19 stinken pounds! HELP ME......
  3. Awe MAN...they cancelled my appointment! It was supposed to be today, but I got a call on Friday saying that Dr. O would "not be available"...I assume he made a long weekend even longer! How DARE he...doesn't he know I'm starving and not losing any weight???? Anyway...I go in on Thursday now at 4:20. When is yours?? I NEEEEED that fill. I'm really hungry and have not lost a pound in like 2 weeks! WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?!?!?!?!

  4. Howdee! I refuse to weigh myself. I'm just going to wait till Tuesday when I get my fill...there better be a couple pounds missing by then! I'm losing my patience.

  5. Howdee! I refuse to weigh myself. I'm just going to wait till Tuesday when I get my fill...there better be a couple pounds missing by then! I'm losing my patience.

  6. Here I am!!! I was on vacation for a while and forgot to let everyone know. Oooops! It's nice to know you misse me, though! I haven't had anything come up and I'm still feeling like I could eat more than I am, but I'm not...even on vacations, I think I did pretty well. I haven't lost one single pound since going on solids. It's sort of pissing me off! I've been stuck at 19 since FOREVER!!! Hopefully getting my fill next week will fix that. How have you been doing?

  7. I started on food this week and have not lost much since. I'm eating about a cup of food per sitting (FAR less than a normal meal in the past.) I am sceduled for my first fill in just under 2 weeks. I can't WAIT for the restriction. I'm hoping it will nix the hunger I am feeling. I am down 19 total pounds from pre-op. 9 prior to surgery and 10 more since 8/6. I know it will be slow until the first fill...I just want to be skinny TODAY! I'm walking 30 minutes daily and just started my 20 minute toning DVD in the mornings! Hopefully that will help too! Congrats to everyone...we are making it happen one day at a time!:wink2:
  8. Half a cup is NOT enough food....NOR is a cup! I'm a hungry girl! I'm not eating more than a cup, and I'm eating well...but I WANT restriction and I want it NOW!!! How are you holding up?

  9. I can't believe we were late today! Such bad bandsters we are. It was really fun to see you...you made me crack up during that whole class! When I got back to work, I had FOOD! I don't think it was the perfect choice, but it went down good and I feel pretty full. I ate about half of a Weight Watchers meal...turkey and about a tablespoon of mashed potatoes. Carbs...I know, but it was all that was available. I wouldn't say that I'm totally FULL, but I'm not starving like I was and I think I'm satisfied enough to make it to dinner! I'm getting my fill on Tuesday, September 2! WOO HOO! I'm really looking forward to that! When's your next appointment?

  10. I had my follow up today and made the appointment for my first fill. It will be 4 weeks post op. I asked if I could have it at theend of week 3 since I'm on vacation and wouldn't have to miss work and they said that was too soon. She actually said that they never used to do fill prior to week 6, so I'm surprised to hear you will have it 3 weeks post-op. I'm sure your doc wouldn't do it if it weren't safe. Let us know how it goes. I can't wait to see what "restriction" feels like!!!
  11. I had my follow up appointment today and sat in the class to learn how to transition to real food. I have been so hungry these past couple of days as I wrapped up my liquid diet...I couldn't wait to eat FOOD!!! So, I heated up one of those Smart Ones Weight Watchers meals and ate a little bit of mashed potatoes and turkey tenderloins. I probably ate about half of it, or 6 ounces. I had a hard time believing that 6-8 ounces of food would fill me up, but it really did. I'm not feeling FULL...but I'm satisfied and pretty sure I can make it till dinner before I want anything. I think I'll be good with half a cup of food after my first fill...I HOPE! We'll know in 2 weeks!!! Good luck to everyone who is waiting for thier surgery or just had it...I am 2 weeks post op and feeling very well. It gets better every day!
  12. Well...You'll have to tell me how the liquid egg goes down. I'm wierd about consistency and I think a liquid egg might freak me out too much...though I really would LOVE an egg right now! I think I'll get the go-ahead to have soft scrambles eggs tomorrow....WOO HOO!!!
  13. Holy Cow...I'm hungry! I am 12 days post op and starting to feel WAY hungry. I'm still on liquids and go for my follow up appointment tomorrow to transition to mushie stuff. I can't wait to see what's on that list! I'm telling you what...I'm SO OVER the protien shakes and soup! I had a bite of peas last night and I thought I was in heaven! I'm looking forward to the first fill and feeling the restricting that everyone keeps talking about! Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the journey!!!
  14. OMG...I'm so damn hungry! I was great for a while, but now I feel like I could eat my arm off. My poor belly gives off these horrible "feeeeed meeee" growls all day long. I can't wait till tomorrow so we can transition to mushie foods. I think we should be scheduling our fill appointment tomorrow...I hope so! I'm just not sure that a cup of food per meal is going to do the trick at this point. How are you doing? Is your hunger killing you like it is me? I'm still losing...at 19 pounds total, including pre-op! I hope I can keep it up with this viscious hunger!

  15. Wow Mary, All's I can say is...I HEAR YA!! I've lost the same 30 pounds DOZENS of times. I remember a couple of years back celebrating the 199 mark...but it was short lived. When I make it there again...THEN the real journey will begin! I plan to enjoy every step of the way! I'm ready!!!!
  16. Thanks Cutie for telling me about this thread. Congrats to everyone...loss or no loss, this is quite a journey for all of us and we should just be proud of ourselves for doing something for our health!! I am 9 days post-op and have lost 9 pounds since surgery. I'm still doing liquids and will probably slow down on the loss once I get to eat some real food! I'm walking 2 miles a day and plan to start my toning/weights after I get the go-ahead from the doc next week. Keep up the good work everyone!
  17. Hello Jenecye! Congrats on your band! I'm only 9 days post op, but I can report my weight loss. I lost 9 pounds on the pre-op diet and have lost another 9 since surgery for a total of 18. I'm sure it will slow down once I go on mushies...but it's nice to see the numbers go down . I'm glad you asked the question. It will be encouraging to hear how everyone is doing! Here's to ALL of us!!!
  18. Hey there! I'm slackin on my posts now that I'm back to work. I'm feeling great. Almost back to normal. I feel like my port site is a little lump, too. It's certainly not flat. It's probably still a bit swollen...I'm sure we are ok. I'm down a total of 17 pounds as of today. 9 from pre-op diet and 8 since surgery. YAHOO! I'm starting get a little more hungry than in the beginning, but the shakes are still keeping me satisfied. I sure do look forward to some real food that I can CHEW though. I'm looking forward to seeing you next week at our class. I can't wait to hear what foods we'll be able to add to our diet now! I think we should get our first fill at 4 weeks. I think that is going to REALLY make a difference in our hunger. I long for the days that we can eat of few bites and call it quits and be HAPPY with that! AAaahhhh, this is going to be AMAZING!!!!

  19. I was thinking the same thing. I feel like it's just right there on top. I'm really bumpy all around that area and I hope that is just bloating. I wasn't told anything really on how to take care or what not to do...hopefully we aren't jacking anything up!

  20. Hi Gina, I was banded on the 6th. When I got home on the 7th, I took one dose of the liquid Vicodin and thought I was going to vomit. Since then, I've taken NOTHING! The pain has been pretty bearable for the surgery area...and for the gas pain, I'm just using the gas strips. It can be done...don't worry. You'll do fine. No pain...no LOSS...right??
  21. They told me to go to the Tuesday (12th) Nutrition class at 9:30 and then they would do a quick check up right after that. I'm hoping to be down a full 10 from my surgery date by then, so I've got 7 more to go...I hope I can make it! How hungry are you? I'm not really hungry at all. I made a smoothie this morning with the protien powder and then had like 1/4 cup of runny cream of potato soup and I'm stuffed. I've heard of people that have had really big hunger issues by now...I think I got lucky for a change! How are your incisions? Mine are healing nicely. They are pretty ugly and purpley/yellow...SO SEXY!!!

  22. Surgery4me

post op day 3 gas pains

I am 5 days post-op and am still feeling the gas, myself. I don't have any magic to share. I think walking worked best for me. I've been off my meds since day 2 because it made me nauseas...so I've just been grinning through it. This too shall pass...HAHAHA.
  23. How are you doing since surgery?

  24. Hope you had a GREAT Birthday! The scale finally started going down! I was up 2 pounds when I got home and now I'm down 6 from there...whew! I am down 12 in total if you count the pre-op diet. I still feel like I have a brick in my belly though! I'm back at work and feeling good...aside from the gas. I'll probably call to set my appointment on my lunch. I'll send you a text to let you know I made the appointment. I got my protien powder yesterday and I really like that so much better than the Slim Fast..I'm WAY over those damn shakes! I hope you are continuing to feel better!

  25. So glad you are feeling better! I'm starting to sleep good in bed and getting a bit more strength every day. I'll tell you what, though...I've never been so happy to pass gas in my life! That pain is worse than anything! I feel like a blimp...but I know it's temporary. Are you planning to do the 2 week follow up class and check-up, or do you think you will go sooner?
