February 2022 Surgery Buddies
LJB777 replied to MeganMyers's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Day 4 from my DS surgery. I'm having some difficulty walking and sitting as I have a pain on my right lower side that insists on staying with me but I'm handling it the best I can. When I'm in bed I don't feel it and thankfully I have an adjustable bed so I stay sitting up for a long time. I stayed 2 nights in the hospital, no complications whatsoever and now I'm glad to be home. I'm on Phase 2 now, trying the thicker liquids so little by little. Day by day is all I continue to tell myself. Hang in there, the hardest part is already done haha!! 😁 -

Hi! Feel free to share or send me a private message if you prefer. I’m still in the hospital. Day 2 after surgery. No leakage thank God. Just a lot of abdominal pain, but that’s to be expected since I had the DS and a hernia repair. Everything went really well surgery wise so should be released tomorrow! -

Hi all. I'll be in the hospital in less than 12 hours getting ready for my surgery. I'm a little anxious, but that's to be expected from any surgery. I'm hungry right now but I'm on clear liquids and then nothing else. I'm very happy to hear that everyone that has had their surgery so far is doing well! Very encouraging for those of us going next! Good luck to all my 2/17 partners. We got this!! 💪 -

Well, had my pre-op visit with my surgeon and pre-admission testing done today. This is it! I told the dr. that I was feeling frustrated and like I'm not following the diet instructions because I've hardly lost any weight (6 lbs) in 1 week and he reassured me that the idea is for the liver to shrink, it's not for me to lose weight, so that made me feel a whole lot better. They also gave me the name of some vitamin patches (which I can't remember right now 🤔) that they want me to use for the first month so I'm ordering those today. I need to arrive at the hospital by 5:30am and confirmed I am his first case so I joked with the nurse when I told her, well that's good! He will have had a good night's sleep so he'll be fresh and ready to start with me haha!! 8 more days to go! 😀 -

I'm very happy to hear that all you guys are doing ok post surgery. I'm getting closer to the 17th and getting anxious. I've been on a mixed diet for the past week and hasn't been too much fun so far. I replace 2 meals for a protein shake and 3-4 oz of lean meat and lettuce. It's not that bad but not easy. But it's just for a little longer! I'll keep you all in my prayers! -

Thank you for the suggestion. I like to hear cost effective. This is a long term investment (as in the rest of my life!), so I want to make sure I find good vitamins that will do the job. I've heard stories where they don't get the right ones and have had some pretty bad consequences. -

Hello, so I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask but I'm throwing it out there anyway! 😊 What vitamins are you guys getting? I haven't been able to decide on that just yet. -

Hello! I'm scheduled for a DS on 2/17 here in Orlando. Nervous but excited at the same time. I also feel nervous about the current COVID wave, even thought about pushing it to March, but I feel like if I do that I will just keep on finding excuses to not do it. I'm reading and watching videos to be as prepared as possible and have some questions ready for my upcoming pre-op. Rooting for all of us!!! 😊
