You definetly have to listen to your own body. 4 days after surgery I wasn't feeling any discomfort so I started the treadmill and elliptical (only did about 15 minutes on treadmill) and 10 on the elliptical. I took it slow to make sure I wasn't going to have any complications. Since that went so well, I renewed my gym membership about 1 week after surgery. Been going to the gym 4-5 times per week for 45 minutes to 1 hr, I also do a Tybo bootcamp the rest of the week.

You can fine Spanx at Lane Bryant or Macy's or Nordstrom's. I think they are a little expensive to exercise in. I wear a fitted body briefer everyday (although I don't have flabby skin) I like the smooth line it gives under my clothes. If you're simply going to exercise in them, I suggest some plain ole leggings that are heavy with the spandex

hi trina, 34ilbs down is much better than gaining 34 lbs. I hope to be down that much in 2 months. Just keep going

haven't had a fill yet (not until 9/22), I do feel some restriction. 1/2 cup usually does it (depending on what I eat). I notice when I have something like soup I'm able to eat more, so I tend to stick to things with more substance

Are you keeping your lap band a secret, or telling everybody?
truediva replied to Snowgator's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My entire family knows, they are very supportive. I told a few people at work, but it was hard to keep it a secret. A few other people in the office have had some type of bariatric surgery. And we all know with rumors, if you associate yourself with someone who has had surgery, you are bound to be next... I really don't care who knows. It was the best decision I could have ever made:thumbup: -
I've also been making seafood salad, I'm going to try mixing it with the dip..crab, shrimp, dip, lemon juice, cilantro, green onions, and salsa

I will be trying this this weekend. Sounds delicious. I love coming up with new recipes. Ever since getting banded, I've been on a soup kick. Really fast and great tasting, and low calorie. Taco soup, white chili, shrimp veggie stew, cioppino (basically broth based)

3 weeks since surgery (July 28) , when I went to the Dr. last Monday, I was down 13 lbs... I don't own a scale and don't plan to buy one, I feel great:thumbup:

glad you liked it. I have plenty of recipes. I love to cook and have learned to adapt most of the recipes into low fat versions. Last night I made white chili, it was delicious

We are 9 days post op. Feeling great. The funny thing is, other people are watching me as if they expect me to look totally different right after surgery. don't really have an appetite. Me and my husband are still doing mainly liquids. I found alot of low fat Soup recipes, that is what is basically getting us through it. Last night for dinner I made white chil (low fat) it's delicious. The rest of the day we drink Protein shakes, protein Water, and crystal light. fry, I have a no fail recipe for you and the fish. It will be moist, flavorful, fail proof and quick. Take any type of fish and make individual fish pockets. I take parchment paper, heat the oven to 350. In each pocket I put onion, garlic, green onion (anything really) , put the fish on top, then top the fish with some type of moisture (fist stock, white wine, soy sauce, oyster sauce, anything) I used a combo of soy sauce, sesame oil and chili sauce. Wrap the paper up and bake for 15 minutes:thumbup:
