So i have lost close to around 100lb. So i have a cpap machine and once in a while when i am real tired i forget to use it. Before surgery if i did that i would take up with a massive headache and i have yet to have that happen. I did not use my machine two days ago either and no issues. I guess i would need another sleep study to find out if i actually still need it or not. I actually like using my cpap which everyone thinks is weird lol.

never looked at it lol.

When did your program give you the OK to take vitamins?
liveaboard15 replied to raspberrylime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
next day after surgery. Finding the ones that didnt cause me to throw up took a little tho. Even now 6 months post op i still throw up but rarely. -
Vitamins required or not?
liveaboard15 replied to sweetsmith78's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
its exactly that. Everyone is different. i slack on my vitamins mainly because i just forget lol. My blood work comes back fine except for a little low iron. I actually have another round of blood test coming up in 2 weeks for my 6 month follow up. shall see. -
Two days post op and severe pain in upper left abdominal. Feels like a stich. Hurts to breath in. Is this normal?
liveaboard15 replied to JDL37's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No idea what surgery you got, Any of your stats, where you got the surgery ect... Fill out your profile information. it helps a ton when asking questions like this. If you got the sleeve, they usually remove other part of the stomach thru the left side. That area tends to be more painful than anything. But if you are having problems, dont hesitate to call your surgeon. That is why they are there for. From pre op to post op they are there to help you. -
Pain six months out. Is this normal?
liveaboard15 replied to Mia may's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 6 months out too. I get pain every once a while. Nothing serious where i need medication to control but sometimes the big incision area ends up tender or with a bit of pain. But not often -
20lb in 1 month is amazing... Just keep at it. you will slow down in weight loss as you progress out. I am at 6 months and the previous month i only lost like 7lb and so far in two weeks i have lost 2lb... just keep working on it!

Low folate, iron deficient anemia…
liveaboard15 replied to thinkt2013's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did not have that kind of blood work before surgery. I did however 3 months post op. and i only had slight low iron. I increased the amount of iron i take now -
yes it is very hard. I find it hard because obviously we have to wait 30+ minutes after eating to drink and i eat small amounts throughout the day so then i gotta start a timer to wait to drink. its annoying lol
-
you should update your weight on your profile. But you slow down a lot in loosing weight the farther you get out and eventually it will stop to a point. Not everyone will hit their goal but keep trying. But loosing already over 100lb is great. and me i am so bad at hitting my water goals. I drink about half of what i should and i try just not easy.

its the way it goes for many after surgery. My hair is starting to thin out i am 6 months post op. it will grow back.

you had your surgery the day after me. Last 4 weeks i only lost i think 4lb. weight loss slows down as you progress further out. What does your day typically consist of of what you eat?

So The majority of my adult life i have been single. Mainly because i didnt want to even try dating being so big. Living in Florida most girls love the beach, pools, waterparks ect... Heck i love jetsking, boating and the beach. No one really has shown any interest before which i was fine with. Now that i am almost 100lb lighter i have girls hitting on me all the time. Even at work several customers have given me their phone numbers without me even asking, My coworker will joke with them and be like "Hey my coworker is single" lol and so far that has worked several times. Even my own other coworker has been showing interest and we been hanging out now. Gotta say.... I like it. haha. Now if only there was a surgery to make me taller. HAHAHAHA

Switch Surgery Oct17
liveaboard15 replied to GenevaJones90's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you will be fine but stop with the bad food. if you cant control it during pre op. Post op is going to be very challenging then because at that point it can be dangerous to slip up like that during recovery. Most people slip up during their pre op diet but the point is to get back on track and loose that weight to have that surgery. A couple people have posted on here that they got to the operating table, opened up and their liver was still big and they closed them up and sent them home. you dont want that to happen. So get back on track and follow your doctors pre op diet guidelines. -
Nausea and Taste issues
liveaboard15 replied to Young 69 yrs's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
it does. You are still healing from a major surgery. your taste can change after surgery and that does suck for some people. Mine only a couple items tasted bad after surgery. just eat slowly and chew well. i am 6 months post op and i can eat literally anything i want. Just smaller portions. -
so i am 6 months post op. i can eat a lot during the day. But not big portions. I fill up quickly. But like 45 minutes later i am a bit hungry again and that goes on throughout the day. I typically have a protein shake to get past that.

Blood Pressure down
liveaboard15 replied to SkinnyMingo1408's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had high blood pressure before surgery. Typically the high number was in the 140-150's. with a Beats per minute of around 90 just sitting calm. Now post surgery my high blood pressure number is now typically 100 with my beats per minute resting at around 50-55. i was concerned so i asked and they said its fine as long as i am not having any symptoms. that its common for weight loss surgery. -
Pre-Op Constipation
liveaboard15 replied to Bella30's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Fiber? Fiber bulks stool up. i use to take meta mucil. You notice the difference from one day to the other when you go number 2 lol. I am 6 months post op and no issues going number 2. the "tough" part of it only lasted a few weeks after surgery. first week being the hardest. -
LMAO nah. talking to my coworker right now. hahaha. Lets see how that one goes. Funny part tho is she is 8 years older than me. Thats a first for me haha.

Pre-Op Constipation
liveaboard15 replied to Bella30's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
odd. I was on 2 weeks liquid diet but never had any issues going number 2. Now after surgery that was rough. general anesthesia and pain killers basically shut down your ability to go number 2. Takes a bit to come back and when it does OMG the first one will be a doozy. i was prescribed a stool softener to take for weeks after surgery but for me it didnt help. -
OMG lol i just googled that. They said the max is 2 inches and normally for people with a leg shorter than the other or arm. But omg lol no thanks. I will wear my shoes that make me a little taller instead.
-
I think most of the human race has this issue... LMAO

it will grow back. I had the sleeve and my hair is just thinning a bit. Nothing major. the hair is nothing to worry about. Getting healthier is

Back to work after one week??
liveaboard15 replied to KRod6's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
i work from home at a desk on a computer. Wasnt too bad. Getting up and out of the chair and getting back in the chair was a little on the hard side. a cane made it sooooo much easier. Keep a nice big water container with you. They sell nice cheap stainless water containers on amazon. I would fill it up and drink through out the day and i would get up every 15-20 minutes or so and just do a lap around the house. -
Is the gas pain really as bad?
liveaboard15 replied to KRod6's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
gas pain can suck. issue is pain medication does not help with that. Just walking and walking. that was my most painful part. The scars barely felt anything. The big scar where they remove your stomach hurt a bit for me after the gas pains went away. other than that not a real big deal. I was given a big bottle of liquid hydrocodone and i only ever used it once.
