What do you eat at the movies?
liveaboard15 replied to MountainClover's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
So i went to the movies last week to see black adam. i grabbed a fountain drink because they had sugar free juices and as for the snack i grabbed some cookie dough bites. They had the lowest carbs/surgar out of all of them. i poured me out about a serving and a half and i slowely ate them throughout the movie tho it only lasted like 30 minutes lol. -
i had reflux for about 2-3 weeks after surgery and it was some of the worst pain i ever felt. I completely regretted the surgery. but it did eventually go away completely.

How slow do you guys ACTUALLY eat?
liveaboard15 replied to qtdoll's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
eating slow is not something i can do lol. I did for the first month after surgery but i been eating normal speeds like i use to before surgery. Difference now is its much smaller portions before i am full. I hate having a nice hot meal and taking 30+ minutes to eat. by that time its freezing. -
mind is the opposite. Since surgery my heart rate is very low. resting typically 50. i wear an oximeter sometimes just to see what its at and an alarm will go off because it goes too low. My doctor said if i am not passing out then its nothing to worry about. I could increase my salt intake they said lol. i was like uhhh maybe not...

Unhappy with bariatric surgery 1 year later
liveaboard15 replied to Hannah_Johnson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 6-7 months out. I do not have constipation but the hunger is back and i am constantly hungry. I try to have "Healthy" stuff to snack on. Even those bags of precooked chicken strips i find in the cheese isle. I eat a couple strips and i am full again and its not that much calories either. as for the loose skin that is something i expected way before i had my surgery and i knew it was coming. Just something we gotta learn to deal with it for those of us who cant or dont want surgery to remove that all. -
Yup... You will be in a stall multiple times throughout this journey. They can last from a few days to a month or more. My 3rd month stall lasted 3 weeks. My 5 month stall lasted 1 month. Its annoying. Just keep eating how you are suppose to, and stick to the program.

i was so upset to find out after surgery that so many fruits are very high in carbs and sugars. I have avoided them or only eaten a tiny amount

When can I eat pizza toppings or cauliflower pizza again?
liveaboard15 replied to aussiedoodlelover94's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
might help if you posted some more information or at least update your profile to add your surgery date, weight, height ect... i am 6 months out and i can eat pizza if i wanted to without issue tho tons of carbs so i dont lol. At work we make pizza and i sometimes eat the toppings that fall off lol. Been doing that since around 4 months post op but your surgeon knows best. -
doesnt your surgeon provide all your lab orders? I never needed to see my primary tho its a great person to see to let them know about the surgery you are wanting and get their info on it and anything they suggest.
-
i was self pay. All my test were done quick because i was self pay. didnt have to wait for referrals or insurance approval. I just simply got my lab orders and went off to the cheapest places to get them done. I did bloodwork last i believe. ONe thing tho if one of your test come back abnormal then that will delay your surgery date until that gets resolved. My EKG came back abnormal. I had to see a cardiologist who then sent me off to get a nuclear stress test done. After that came back good i was all set to get my surgery date.

So i decided to order my own lipid panel last week to see where i am at 6 months post surgery with cholesterol levels. before surgery they were in the red. Very high where they were going to put me on medication. I got my results back today and all my cholesterol levels are in the green (normal range) gotta love it. But one thing that did come back high was something called bilirubin. It involves the liver mainly (Gall bladder too) By levels before surgery were normal. So will show them to my surgeon in 2 weeks when i have my 6 month follow up and see what they say. My surgeon sent me off today to get vitamin blood test done so i am curious to see how they come out and see if my iron (which was slightly low) has gone up with the extra iron supplement i am taking.

Here is a screen shot of some of what you mentioned. I am actually planning on taking another blood test here in a few weeks which is this one just to get more detailed information. Liver Profile #3 Extreme Blood Test Panel | Walk-In Lab (walkinlab.com) But yea i see my surgeon in less than 3 weeks and my primary care in almost the same time. So i will wait for them both to give me their advise and if they want to order any additional test then great That way my insurance pays for it. When i buy my own labs online i have to pay which is not bad at all but still lol

The Dreaded Plateau
liveaboard15 replied to doobie31's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
its just a stall. You will get thru it. I was on a month long stall and i am only 6 months post op. scale only moved a few lb the entire month. it is annoying -
VERY noisy stomach?
liveaboard15 replied to bestdecisionmade's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
mines been going on since i first started solid foods. lol Every time i you can ear it gurgling in there like "SEND ME MORE" LOL its annoying but i got use to it -
decided to hop on the scale a little earlier than usual today. I normally only weigh myself once a month. Sure enough... I have officially lost 100lb in just 6 months post op. So exciting. and this was done basically with almost zero exercising. I work full time and i get home and i go straight to sleep lol. I do need to go shopping for clothes. So yesterday the new Black Adam movie came out. So i was getting dressed to go see it and realized nothing fit. My nicer clothing was too big, I literally wore my work uniform to go to the movies because thats all that fit haha. So i am off today so i am heading to the mall. To the stores that i normally can never go buy anything in because they sell clothes for smaller people. Lets keep this weight loss train going!!! Want to get under 200lb and i am almost there lol. OHHHHHHH and so the movie theater. Its reserved seating and they are very nice comfortable seats that power recline and such. SO before surgery i would normally buy two seats because 1 would be soooo tight that it was not enjoyable. Yesterday i fit in the seat with so much room to spare. Looks like i am going to sign up again for the AMC A list lol

i could not no matter how much i tried to sleep in my bed. Even propped up with a bunch of pillows but that is just me. Took me a month. The issue more came from getting into bed and especially getting out of bed. I could not by myself.

Finally got a date!!!
liveaboard15 replied to bxnaija's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
almost everything i brought to the hospital i did not use lol. tho when you get home a walking cane will help a ton especially when getting up and sitting down. A recliner is a must as most are not able to sleep i a bed for a while after surgery. It took me about a month before i could lay dow. -
Surgery scheduled!!
liveaboard15 replied to amysc76's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
ooo exciting time. So tell us about yourself since you have not filled out your profile... Weight, height, surgery you chose, is insurance paying or are you self pay? -
Nothing other than walking. It can last a few days to a week or so. Mine lasted about 5 days. Pain killers do nothing. Just walk it out and it will get better. If the pain becomes unbearable then i suggest calling your surgeon and see what they say

I am at the 6 month mark and my hair started to thin out at month 5. Currently its getting worse lol. and i am a guy with very short hair so its very noticeable now. So i bought me one of these hats to wear at work hahaha. Its funny and my customers love it. Hair always grows back (well except for old age lol) Shall see how it is in the next few months. I have my 6 month follow up in 2 weeks and i get my blood tests done on Monday for vitamins, CBC and a lipid panel. Kinda curious to see what my cholesterol levels are at because they were very high before surgery.

I live in Florida so its typically still very hot this time of year but the last few days its been in the 40-60's so its nice. as for protein i probably get around 80-100 grams a day. I still have the fairlife protein shakes too. I am going to buy a lab test tomorrow to add to my doctors blood test that i have to take on Monday. Its called PREALBUMIN BLOOD TEST which test for protein malnutrition https://www.walkinlab.com/products/view/prealbumin-blood-test

Psych eval nerves
liveaboard15 replied to Teresa Eschenbaum's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Gosh i remember mine. I was nervous but it was so stupid. Mine was in two appointments. 1 was with the psychologist for an hour basically talking about food, How i handle it, how much i eat, and eating habits. Basically asking if i eat say cheeze its. Do i take the whole box with me or do i pour some out in a cup and leave the box... Then the 2nd was a 600 question test on a computer asking general questions on certain things Making sure you are not depressed or suicidal. They asked the same question tons of times but worded it different each time. -

Calcium Chews Causing a Bad Taste?

Carbs yes or no
liveaboard15 replied to Hope4NewMe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine limit you on carbs up to a year out. My surgeon wants me to consume 50 grams of carbs or less a day. I try to go for as little as possible. i always look at the carbs on labels and if its anything above 15 i wont buy it or eat it. Which sucks because at work we make these delicious cookies but each cookie is 55g of carbs which is insane! Because i would want to eat like 5 of them lmao
