Doing it all wrong.
liveaboard15 replied to oldandtired's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you tried unflavored protein powder? i have seen people online mix it into their broths and soups or drinks. -
Ive seen people on here literally gain all their weight back after sleeve surgery by not following the program. (which shocked me because i didnt think you could) Sleeve is only a tool. you have to stick to it. If you get the surgery and still eat crap but small amounts you will still gain weight.

Frustrated - Canceled Surgery: Advice?
liveaboard15 replied to LookingForward22's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
When i had my first surgeon appointment the paperwork literally said bring someone as your support. But i did not. The appointment with the actual surgeon lasted maybe 3-4 minutes. Bet the pre op appointment will be the same. but yea go with someone else if you dont like them or feel comfortable. -
Welcome So tell us about yourself. What kind of Surgery are you planning on getting or got and maybe weight and height
-
Oh wow you are not that big in my opinion. I remember being 190lb and i am 5'4 in high school. if i was 190lb now i personally would not be getting surgery. But thats me. Good luck on your surgery.

curious what is your weight and height? Mine said i would have to do the 2-3 week preop diet lol

Florida Medicaid /sunshine health
liveaboard15 replied to Nicketa_0207's topic in Insurance & Financing
I only googled and found this Medicare and Medicaid Medicare covers bariatric surgery as long as all the necessary medical criteria are met and documented. Our Straight Medicaid plans unfortunately do not cover bariatric surgery in the state of Florida. However, if you are enrolled in a Humana Medicaid or United Medicaid plan your bariatric procedure will be covered if you meet the required criteria. I hope you are covered. I was not tho i am on the obamacare health plans. -
I use Isopure Whey Protein Isolate UNFLAVORED. Not a fan of the flavored ones those flavors are very strong. https://www.gnc.com/whey-protein/NaturalIsopure.html I also bought some from this website bariatricpal in their store section. I love the little shooters that pack 25G of protein in that little bottle.

Reverse gastric bypass
liveaboard15 replied to Jennifer ortiz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
DONT GIVE UP... you just had surgery. Gotta give it time to heal and get things back to normal. you will be able to eat some of the foods you enjoyed before but much smaller portions but you gotta give it time. This is a process. Not a quick fix. -
I feel like I have no familial support for my surgery.
liveaboard15 replied to itami o's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Are you a minor or something? Me personally i dont care what anyone else thinks that includes family. If i am doing something to better myself then i will go with it regardless of what other people think. Not sure how they can sue the surgeon if you are an adult. If you have friends that are supportive those can be better than unsupportive family many times. -
Gastric bypass surgery
liveaboard15 replied to Jennifer ortiz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Based on the study conducted by the University of Michigan, the average weekly weight loss of gastric bypass patients is around 5 to 15 lbs for the first two to three months. It starts to taper off to 1 to 2 lbs a week after six months. You should know that the rate of weight loss depends on the individual’s age, health, and starting weight. In addition, weight plateaus occur during the weight loss. However, if it lasts more than 6 weeks, then adjustments should be made. It is best for you to work with a dietician during this period. -

liveaboard15 replied to Myrandalynn06's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
What kind of surgery are you looking to get? You will loose weight but its a process and you have to stick to it. Which is why most hospitals have support groups, nutrition classes and such to help you. Part of my preop is attending the support groups which i have next week. -
Could be. I will swing by later today and check it out again and see since its right next to a sporting goods store that i need to get food for my frog lol.
