Just feeling blah
liveaboard15 replied to Holodisplay's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do you have a hobby? Maybe find some activities or something that interest you to keep you busy. For me riding my jetski, Video games and fishing are the things i do to keep me busy and not bored. -
So been waiting over 2 months for the stupid Psyc evaluation to get my sleeve going. Appointment is for March 4th and came back covid positive 3 days ago. its been a brutal 4 days. retesting on the 1st in hopes it comes back negative to get this evaluation done.
-
ill just ignore your comments then... Thanks...
-
Yup thats the name. but there is also another test as well apparently that goes after that one. Gonna try again to see if i can do it at home if my test comes up positive again.
-
What in the world are you talking about???
-
i actually did that. So the appointment is a two parter. 1st part is thru Zoom on March 1st. the 2nd part must be in office and is a computer testing that last 3-4 hours and is roughly 600 questions long.

I am unsure about your post. You titled it weightloss but didnt provide any context other than a picture of a couple and its your first post. Care to elaborate and welcome to the group

you just had major surgery. Of course its gonna be painful for a little bit. That is the part everyone has to get thru to achieve their goal. Take the pain medication they prescribed and you will get thru it.

Too Big for Sleeve?
liveaboard15 replied to simplysmile's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know some surgeons wont do surgery if you are super big. The one i remember said anything above 57 BMI they dont do surgery. But i seen tons of people loose a lot of weight being in the 300's. I am about 320lb and i am 5'4. doing pre op testing now. But as long as you stick to it you will loose weight. -
This very website sells vitamins. I grabbed some and no issues. Just click on the store tab or scroll to the bottom you will see Trending products and on the right side (On my screen) shows hot products.

Here in the USA my surgery is not covered at all. But those pre op testing so far are. I just simply take the lab orders and imaging orders to a lab or imaging center that is covered under my plan and get it done there and they fax the results to the doctor. So far so good. I have only had to pay the copays.

If i were going to go the Mexico route. I would have gone with Dr Guillermo Alvarez at Endohospital Bariatrics. The places is amazing and all they do is sleeves. He is a USA educated doctor. His hospital looks amazing and very very upscale. he post videos on youtube weekly regarding sleeves and his instagram channel is also impressive with constant stories on what he does. I think at his place a sleeve is just under 10 grand. Here is his youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/c/Endobariatric . I am also self pay. Doing it in Florida and costing $18-19K. Insurance wont cover.

Can sleep study results delay your weight loss surgery
liveaboard15 replied to Diann Mayfield's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I personally love my cpap machine lol. Probably one of the only ones too. It took a few days to get use to it but i did and love it. I have a resmed airsense 10. But yea i didnt need a sleep study done since i already had one. During my sleep study i slept but my Oxygen saturation kept going down into the 80's which is bad lol. I did the at home sleep study. -
How long from consult to surgery?
liveaboard15 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For those that are self pay. How long did it take from your first consultation to your surgery? I know insurance people have requirements and such so this question is for self pay people only. -
Surgery on 2/25 - Liquid Diet on 2/20
liveaboard15 replied to Starting My New Life's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Exciting that your surgery is coming up. Still waiting on preop testing for me Lol. you are lucky that you may not have to do the liquid pre op diet... I have seen on here people have to do it up to 3 weeks or more. As for pain i personally stocked up on Vicodin pills and marijuana lol. idk what kind of pain meds they will give me once i am done with surgery so i wanna be prepared. I dont do pain well lol -
Has anyone used the vitamin patches?
liveaboard15 replied to JessiPhoenix's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
you know i asked this in the nutritional class i was required to take and they told me no on the patches saying its not the same as taking a chewable or pill. But i see good reviews on the patches and people saying they go get blood work done and shows the patches working. I wanna try them out too once i have my surgery. -
Was ready for sleeve, medically necessary for bypass, now need advice
liveaboard15 replied to JessiPhoenix's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Hi. So what are the results of the endoscopy that they changed it to bypass? Acid reflux/heartburn issues? -
Its similar to me with my surgeon requiring a Psychiatric evaluation. and the doctor for that didnt have a opening for a few months. they did say i could choose someone else if i wanted (I had no luck there) Maybe you can call around and see if anyone can do that test you need sooner.

Interesting. So i have had strong chest pains since March of last year. Had Echocardiogram, stress test, EKG, MRI of the chest. Nothing major out of that other than unrelated stuff they chocked it up to GERD. But i dont feel any burning and no issues with whatever i eat.

Newbie here :)
liveaboard15 replied to heddenturner's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What i have used is from GNC called Isopure Whey protein isolate. It comes in several flavors and unflavored. -
Question for you acid reflux people. What does acid reflux feel like? Is it a actual burning sensation in your chest? or is it more like just general pain in your center of chest?

Sleeve or Bypass? Apprehensive...
liveaboard15 replied to MissNicole's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Recovery for sleeve is different for everyone. If you go on youtube and watch the hundred or so videos of peoples journey with it, Some have no issues whatsoever, and others are rough. i wonder how mine will be lol. Even with Sleeve we still have to take a vitamins typically forever. But not as much as bypass people from what i read in my binder that the surgeons office gave me. My binder says i will have to take a multivitamin and B12. You say you are a sweets eater. Might need to look into dumping syndrome. Good luck with your choice. I am going with Sleeve. Doing pre op testing crap now lol.
