yea its nuts. The psyc testing is literally in the bariatric office. I did my nuclear stress test today that was a long 4 hours lol. get the results tomorrow.
-
My bariatric center also has a psychologist in the same practice/program, same floor. Still took over 2 months lmao. I was like SERIOUSLY???

i dealt with this crap... I got my order to do it in December... I was not able to get a appointment until March 1st... was soooo annoying. Ask your doctor if they require anything special... Mine did... Otherwise there are online psyc evals you can do via zoom with a licensed MD or PHD that do bariatric psyc eval. This doctor does online but you need to make sure your doctor will accept it because mine did not. https://www.onlinebariatricpsychevals.com/index.html

meal kits for bariatrics?
liveaboard15 replied to Cutenchubby's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
check around you locally... Ask the gyms and such... like where i live there are several small businesses that do healthy meal preps and put out a new menu weekly and either deliver or you pick up at local gyms. -
Ate something the day before surgery
liveaboard15 replied to vikki401's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You should be ok its a tiny tiny amount. But i would just mention it. But by tomrrow those grapes should be in your colon and on their way out. -
So i posted on here that last week i did my EKG and it came back abnormal and they schedualed me for a nuclear stress test. So they billed my insurance and the diagnosis code is OLD MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION. Googled that and thats basically a heart attack... I possibly had a heart attack in the past and not know about it... Never came up during my visit yesterday with the cardiologist. Thats freaky if thats true.

Have you done a sleep study? Maybe sleep apnea? -

Do you have problems sleeping? you really shouldnt be waking up in the middle of the night randomly. -
Probably have a small liver... the whole point of the pre op diet is to shrink your liver for more room to work when they get to the surgery

Sleep study - CPAP machine
liveaboard15 replied to simplysmile's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It should not be a issue in regards to the surgery as after surgery for some it eliminates sleep apenea... I have a machine. I personally love it. Before i was getting maybe 5 hours of sleep. Now i sleep for 8-9 and sometimes 10 hours if i dont need to go to the bathroom lol. There is a shortage of machines because a while ago one particular brand Phillips was recalled. I personally have the resmed airsense 10 and love it. -
That depends on your preop diet... Not everyone is the same. SOme are strict liquid diet only while others can eat certain things...

all weight loss surgerys are "bariatric surgery" I meant more specific... If you notice 0n my sidebar it says Gastric sleeve. That is the surgery i am getting. Then there is Gastric Bypass, Mini bypass, Lap band and a few other minor ones. your info can be edited in your profile section under surgery.
-
Hi. I am sorry to hear that. It will help a ton if you fill out your sidebar. No idea on what surgery you had, starting weight, current weight ect...
-
I enjoy wearing the simple white tshirt and shorts... Its hot here in Florida lmao. But would be nice to buy smaller sizes. they are cheaper.
-
So did my EKG last Friday as well as my Psyc eval. EKG came back abnormal. Today i saw the cardiologist and to get clearance for surgery they are having me do a nuclear stress test next week. After that i will get the yes or no for clearance for surgery but the doctor said i should be good to go. Hate IV needles lmao.

This is all overwhelming
liveaboard15 replied to thinblueline's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you wont eat the same way again as in large portions... but once you are healed up and recovered you will be able to go out to eat, Eat some of the stuff you did before just smaller portions. Go on youtube and watch videos of peoples journey's through weight loss surgery. Many have videos from before, during and after surgery and even years after surgery and what they are eating and such. There are probably a hundred or so videos. Its great to see how other people do. Also make sure you fill out your sidebar with your stats and surgery you are planning on getting. It helps a ton with answering questions. you can do this in your profile tab -
I mean chew slower and more. The rate you are doing it now... Go slower. But i dont think the speed of the chew is a issue... The issue is chewing... Dont matter really the speed of it. As long as you are chewing sufficiently and not eating fast. Chew chew chew, swallow... wait a little and do it again and again. i normally eat my meals in 5 minutes or less... my booklet the surgeon gave me says take 30 minutes or more per meal.

Nuclear Stress Test
liveaboard15 replied to liveaboard15's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i miss stuff being open 24/7 lol. Nothing here is open all night. I miss my 1am walmart shopping trips haha. -
my bariatric center gives you a binder with all the required info, doctors names, labs and such and we are required to take it to every appointment. Found it very nice and convenient.
-
Waiting was very annoying... What has held me up was the long wait for a appointment for the psyc evaluation (over 2 months for the next opening) EKG is quick and easy takes just a few minutes, Sleep study is no big deal if you get a at home kit you just wear it to sleep and that is it. The Endoscopy i had one done last year (not a part of bariatric surgery) and It was actually quick. They put to me to sleep for it since i had a colonoscopy done as well. What you get all your lab orders and such get to making those appointments to get it done. I personally had a abnormal EKG so i am having to get a extra test done a Nuclear Stress Test but after that if it goes well which it should i should be able to move forward. hopefully you can get appointments quick for your labs. Good luck! Dont stress

LOL Heck no. Moved in with my parents a couple years ago to save money. Free rent vs $2K a month in rent. Cant beat it lol. My other 2 brothers live here too. I plan on buying a house in 2 years so just saving up... Which paying $18K for this surgery seriously sucks lol
