  1. So Gastric bypass is technically reversible. unlike Sleeve. But by doing that and removing that part of the stomach its no longer reversible. Tho i never heard of anyone getting it reversed.

    Shopping in Bariatric Pal Store

My bariatric center said no on the patches but i just dont want to do pills right now until i am on solid food. So far no issues that i know of with the patches. I wear them everyday on my arms.

    Shopping in Bariatric Pal Store

I have bought several things. I am currently using the patches but just for the first few weeks til i can get into solid food. I also bought the Barimelt multi vitamin and the Bariatric pal Multivitamin ONE with 45mg iron. Tho i have tried that one and that one makes me nauseated for about 30 minutes about 15 minutes after taking it. Also i love the Chike Nutrition High Protein Iced Coffee (Chocolate mocha) Its delicious. I also got the little protein shots but i see they been sold out for a while.
  4. interesting. Never once heard about it in my research. its also not a option here at my area where i got surgery. Wonder what the difference is in benefits with a regular sleeve and bypass
  5. never heard of it before. Googling it it appears to be a standard sleeve but it appears they connect the stomach to a part of the small intestine. Is this what you got?

Hydration and vitamin bar ? 🤔

Getting in my fluids has been a real struggle since surgery. Protein has been easy but fluids are hard lol.

Hydration and vitamin bar ? 🤔

Where i live there is a company that does Mobile IV hydration and you can add from a large list of vitamins to it. They send out a Registered Nurse to your home to do it. Its expensive as you can see. I would have if i didnt have issues with needles lol. Even the hospital staff took over 20 minutes to find a vein on me. lol

    OMG the constipation is real

it took me 4 days to go number 2 after surgery and man that was painful lmao. Doctor did prescribe stool softeners.
  10. i just googled them and i cant believe how low their prices are. less than 5 grand for a gastric sleeve. Thats insane even for Mexico. and this website about them has bad reviews on them. https://mexicogastricsleeve.org/elias-ortiz-company/ I would look into endohospital in mexico if you are planning on a sleeve. (they only do sleeves) They seem to have great reviews

    Incision pain

Dealt with that same pain. That large incision on me where they pulled the stomach thru can get painful. I had surgery on April 18th and i still have pain there. It gets better.
  12. I had surgery on April 18th. I have had caffeine without issue. Tho they do say give it a few weeks. The reason is caffine causes dehydration. But yea you need to heal up. Trust me i had regrets too after surgery. Missing all my favorite foods. Realizing that food was a great joy in my life, Going out with friends, Going to get the newest thing to arrive at Taco Bell or Pizza hut lol. Eventually i hope to be able to eat some of the stuff again. Like say mcdonalds.. No i wont be able to eat a double quarter pounder anymore. But i hope a happy meal lol. Just have to learn to eat very slow. 30 minutes per meal minimum, wait to drink water a half hour after eating. As for beer. I would be waiting a while before that. but you can have alcohol again but it will be very different. You will end up getting drunk off of just a couple drinks. So you may not be able to enjoy a long night of drinking.
  13. So i noticed one of my incisions the area around it is discolored. The rest are fine. Anyone have any info on their experience? No pain, no smell, nothing. My follow up is on Monday.
  14. I have seen people on here post that they got pregnant just a few weeks after sleeve surgery. If you go into the search bar and type in pregnant. you can find all the post with that topic. Would probably help you out a lot

    3 Month Post-Op

what surgery did you get? If you can, update your profile with your information on your surgery, weight ect... It helps a ton. You can do that by editing your profile and under the surgery section.

    Incision area discolored. (Picture)

I actually sent the pictures to my surgeons PA thru a messaging app the hospital has last night and she responded this morning saying its fine. That only if its really red or really warm that its a cause for concern. Thanks everyone

    Post-op tips/necessities

A recliner if you dont have one. I had surgery on the 18th and i have yet to be able to sleep in my bed. A Walking cane helps a ton with getting up and keeping your balance.

4 Weeks Out - Eating is a chore

I move onto soft foods this coming Monday. I cant wait and i hope i can tolerate it because it seriously does suck and is depressing not being able to eat what you use to enjoy.

Meds you HAVE to take daily and cant crush

i had no problem taking any pills right after surgery. I was glad tho they did give me my pain medication in liquid form.
  22. I got the sleeve on April 18th. I have had a few days where the reflux was extremely painful. I have yet been unable to lay down to sleep because of it. I am on a medication for 30 days called pantoprazole 40mg. It worries me a lot because i cant afford to get a revision. I never had this issue before surgery. If you have heartburn. Getting the bypass may be best. It basically eliminates GERD for most people.

Self pay- insurance doesn’t cover WLS

That is what i was thinking too. Probably going to have to choose the sleeve or bypass if they want insurance to cover.

    Pain after surgery

It was the same for me while in the hospital. They said pain pills or pain IV meds will do nothing about gas pains. I did get a nice big bottle of liquid hydrocodone tho with my discharge medication. I only used a tiny bit once i got home.

    Drinking & burps

its impossible to stretch your stomach on simply liquids. you would throw up if you drink too much. Just sip on water throughout the day and if you reach your goal great. But as long as you get close to it its good.
