  1. I weigh myself on the 4th of every month along with measurements. Little late on posting i forgot. But yea no big changes at all in the last month. Weight loss has slowed down by a lot which is expected this far out. I had surgery in April of 2022. Struggling to get below 200. I leave on Sunday for the Caribbean which sucks because well the big food down there is everything is fried lol. So i am bringing me a load of "snacks and foods" in my suitcase lol.
  2. Last couple weeks i have felt a lot bigger than usual. Like a lot more fat than usual on the stomach i am like wtf am i gaining more weight? But i check the scale and its the same as it was a couple weeks ago. almost 9 months out the weight loss slowed down dramatically. For the previous 30 days i have only lost maybe 3lb which sucks but it is what it is. I am taking my first flight since weight loss here in the next 2 weeks and i have always bought first class tickets because well coach seats are tiny and horrible for overweight people. Now i can fit in them and my wallet is so happy not to buy a first class ticket lol.

    Liquid post-op diet question

After surgery its going to be very hard to get the full amount of protein and water in. So dont stress if you dont even get half in right after surgery. It took me several weeks before i could get enough protein in and water was a struggle for a while. Buy little 1 ounce cups on amazon and pour an ounce and work on each individual ounce. The surgeon should give you a paper to let you know how much protein and water to get in daily. Just do your best. one premier protein shake typically has like 30 grams of protein. Thats about half of what you need daily. you wanna shoot for about 50-60 grams of protein daily and 48-64oz of fluids daily like water. (your protein shakes count as fluid)

Anyone else able to chug water?

I can chug a decent amount of water. i thought with the surgery we could only sip tiny bits but thats just for the first little bit after surgery. Once you are healed up its pretty easy to chug tho not too much. If you do it too much it can be painful.
  6. really the only ones that can answer that for sure is your own doctor and surgeons team. Most insurance have a requirement of 6 months of weight loss attemps/supervision. your bariatric team should be the ones to let you know as everything progresses.

    yummy snacks

i typically cant eat the whole thing at once. Its really dense but good. I can probably eat the whole thing in maybe 30-45 minutes which is how you are suppose to be but i am not a slow eater at all lol
  8. WTF lol. So i weighed myself on the 4th... at 205lb. and again today and i am at 208lb That is a big increase in such a short time with healthier stuff eaten. and i weigh myself naked every time haha. Well this increase better decrease lol.

Pain at site where stomach was removed

yup that one hurt the worst during my recovery and was much more bruised than the others. Took a couple months before it went back to normal.

    Is This Trouble ?

After my first set of test i had to take extra iron supplements because my levels were a little low. After taking it the next set of test 3 months later it came back normal. I typically always get my test results back before the doctor even calls me. My hospital has a portal where you can view all of your test. When i had my HIDA scan i got the results posted on my account before i could even get back home and that was last friday and i still have not gotten a call or anything from the surgeons team to let me know how it went lol. But yea let us know what test exactly came back out of range once you find out. I always get my own lab test done apart from what my surgeon does. i buy them online and go to a lab to get the blood drawn. I just went a few days ago and did another liver panel and the one result that was out of range was getting closer to being in range so thats good.

    Is This Trouble ?

What specific test came back out of normal range? because a liver panel has like 10 different test... I have one that recently came up high which is called biliruben and the surgeon had me sent out for a ultrasound and when that came back normal last Friday i had a HIDA scan which is a nuclear medicine test and that came back normal so nothing to worry about for now.

    Celiac Disease

one of the most popular ones called fairlife says its gluten free. The shakes taste amazing and its what i lived on before and after surgery lol.
  14. I hate pain... i hate needles with a passion. believe it or not not much pain after surgery. Yes moving the wrong way will hurt but you are on pain meds and you will get a script for the good stuff. I got a big bottle of liquid hydrocodone. I maybe used it twice. THe pain after surgery was the air in your chest that pain medication does nothing for. Once you get thru that pain you are golden.
  15. in the hospital after i woke up the binder was well tight and it was bothering me so i removed it when the nurses left and lets just say i regretted it,... That binder held in all the fat and prevented everything from moving. I had them put it back on lol
  16. they literally put one on me before i even woke up from the surgery. Told me to keep it on for several days post op.
  17. for after the hospital a walking cane helped a ton with getting around the house and especially getting up out of a chair.
  18. So i packed a bunch of stuff. After surgery i literally needed nothing other than my charger for my phone lol. I slept most of the time.

    New New new

chew? and only 2 days post op? What are you eating? Most people are on a strict liquid only diet for a few weeks after surgery to allow the stomach to heal. i did fairlife protein shakes for the first couple weeks after surgery. Once i was approved for soft foods the first thing i ate was a quail egg. I did quail eggs because they are much smaller and two little eggs was still too much at that time.
  21. insurance... oh thats funny. Mine were like HELLLL NOOO! lmao. I had to pay my surgery in cash basically. But others in my bariatric center that had insurance that covered it many took 6 months + but yes call. I would call the bariatric center and your own insurance company to see what the hold up is.

    Is this normal?

Some people can take a week or so before they go number 2. I had sleeve but it took me 5 days before i went number 2 and it was painful lol. My doc prescribed medication to get me to poop.
  23. I waited 2 months or so before i started again. No issues whatsoever. I smoke daily. Just be prepared with healthy snacks when you get the munchies.

    Hida Scan done

Had my Hida Scan done this morning. 2 hours of lying on a table in a tube lol. ugh. but it wasnt that bad. Injected with the radioactive tracer waited an hour in the machine, then an IV of something to get your gall bladder to empty out and do its thing. The results got posted online before i could even arrive home lol but everything came back normal No issues at all. so thats good. No surgery needed.
  25. No but a few days ago at work a women came and told me she has a booth at our local farmers market where she sells baked goods all very low carbs and sugar. I cant wait til she reopens after the holidays because i soooo wanna try some lol
