Mental inability to drink
liveaboard15 replied to Stephanie H.'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You had a leak in your sleeve? -
It has flown by quick lol. as soon as i wake up i am heading into that kitchen lmao. Gonna be like Xmas morning.
-
you remind me a bit of my cousins. They are very picky eaters. The reason why you cant drink with your food is because you need that space for the protein and not to wash it away so quick. But i mean you can take a sip with your food. and while there are certain things that are off limits. once you are healed up, you should be able to eat what you use to but just less of it. I mean i cant wait to eat pizza again. No i wont be able to chow down 4-5 slices of a meat lovers pizza anymore but once i heal up i can have a slice of some thin crust pizza. But you are 6 weeks post op so you should be able to eat a decent amount of solid food. Just give it time. i know waiting sucks (I am the most impatient person in the world) But you will get there where you can enjoy those things again. As for your weight. you are the same height as me. I am 5'4. I remember being 210lb. That was when i lived in Puerto Rico. Back then i didnt think i was too overweight. But i sure didnt want to take off my shirt at the beach lol. But from 210 i started to quickly climb in weight and my shirt sizes kept going up and my pant size as well. you should be able to hopefully get to maybe 130-150 and you will feel amazing but we gotta get over this tiny section of our lives to get to the good stuff... Seriously just hang in there.

2 weeks today.

you feel this way because you should have cancelled and didnt... But why? why should you have cancelled? Also let us know your height and weight since you said you didnt need the surgery. We are trying to understand you and help you
-
Well i will find out tomorrow because tomorrow is the day i can move onto soft foods like eggs, canned tuna, chicken ect... and i am so excited lol so i hope it goes well
-
I remember your first post saying the same thing and you never really explained why you feel this way. Is it because you cant eat like you use to? I mean i had surgery last month. I partly regret it. Because food was so enjoyable and was a big part of my daily life. I would wake up and first thing i thought of is where am i going to get a delicious breakfast, Lunch time comes around i would be like OOoo lets get tacos or mcdonalds or whatever and same with dinner and now i cant do that anymore and it is depressing at times especially when everyone in my house orders pizza or made some awesome bbq that i cant have. But eventually once we are healed up good. We can have many of those things again but just much smaller portions. BUt why do you feel this way?

Gastric Bypass in Tijuana?
liveaboard15 replied to Ninabnina77's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Hi. I see you got the sleeve just a few years ago. Why are you getting a revision? -
Yes that is why i am going to go buy quail eggs. They are tiny. figure i would start with those and work my way up to a standard chicken egg. and i cant wait lol.
-
stick to the liquids until your surgeon tells you you can move on. We need to heal first otherwise we put our sleeves in jeopardy. trust me i know how you are feeling. But get that protein in and fluids.

First stage liquid diet
liveaboard15 replied to Happy Stylist's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Its not possible to stretch your stomach on liquids. Remember liquids dont stay in your stomach for long... Max 20-30 minutes. But yea you should be taking sips throughout the day. For me from my surgeon for my water intake is suppose to be a minimum of 48oz. and i struggle to get to that. -
Its just your head. regardless you should be following your surgeons guidelines with food. you should be on liquids only for about 2 weeks after surgery. Most important is getting in those 60 grams of protein and your fluids to heal properly.

Gastric Bypass WITH stomach removal
liveaboard15 replied to Quesodip251's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I guess its different for different parts of the USA. My bariatric center is body mass index of 40 or higher, or a BMI of 35-39 with co-morbidities such as type II diabetes. -

Gastric Bypass WITH stomach removal

Gastric bypass should eliminate your reflux so hopefully you will be good with that. -
Did I screw up lol
liveaboard15 replied to Vsgbethany22's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you will be fine. I have been eating strained soups without issue. Last week i had some chicken enchilada type soup and i just strained out all the solid stuff. No issue. My discharge paperwork tho did tell me to avoid going out to eat for at least 2 months. -
Gastric Bypass WITH stomach removal
liveaboard15 replied to Quesodip251's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
probably idk. But most of your stomach is gone so thats the issue. Its like my Sleeve now except you have rerouting. I find it very odd that he did that without your consent. I would go over your paperwork to verify the surgery and see what it says. because if he did anything beyond that without your permission then that could be a legal issue actually. -

Yea all i have found is people who use them and go get their blood tested to see if their vitamin levels are low or normal.
