I am 3 weeks post op and the only thing that causes me issues are vitamins. So far the trick i have learned with that is i take it and quickly go to bed with a ice pack on my head and try to sleep a little. Takes about 15-20 minutes for me to feel that vitamin and i start to feel nausea but it passes and i do fine. If i stayed up and awake i would throw up

So according to my nutritionist and the paperwork i got. This is considered soft foods. The paperwork says Baked or grilled fish, veggies. are good to go. So far no issues at all eating. I saw your post about your pill issue. that sucks. I never had that problem i could take any pill right out of the hospital. I do hope you start to do better.

Is this normal?
liveaboard15 replied to SleeveToBypass2023's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
thats odd. I didnt have that issue. I was able to take any pills without a problem and my nausea only lasted a day or so that i didnt even take any of my nausea medication. and you have to take 7 pills at a time? what in the world did they prescribe you? I only have to take 1 which is a medication to prevent gall stones. The pain medication hydrocodone is a liquid, my anti nausea medication was a liquid. -
I have the grill standing up so i guess thats 4". I just use regular high power and i just press exactly that cook, 5 and start. I use Smoked Paprika and Old Bay Garlic seasoning
-
Yes i either thaw it overnight in the fridge or place the fish in a bowl of cold water. It defrost in about 20 minutes. Then i coat it with olive oil then season it. 5 minutes on each side.

That is exactly where i get my fish at BJ's. The frozen packs of Sockeye Salmon are my favorite and in the fresh food bin they have steelhead trout which taste just like salmon lol. I use a nuwave infrared cooker to cook everything. I have for soooo many years. I love this thing. I need to buy another to keep as back up lol

I think I may have messed up
liveaboard15 replied to Healthyme48's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
Oh you are perfectly fine. nothing to worry about. Everyone eats something they should not have during their pre op diet. As long as its not a daily thing you are fine. I had 2 slices of pizza one of my days lol. -
3 day pre op liquid diet? Wow you won the lottery for that lol. I had to do 2 weeks of that and it sucked lol but it got better after a few days

Liver shrinking DIET pre-RNY
liveaboard15 replied to Mariann812's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
You are starting the pre op diet already? Even before your surgery is scheduled possibily for mid June? seems very early especially with your low BMI. For most its 1 week or 2 weeks before surgery date. But of course i am no surgeon lmao. Good luck!! You loose weight pretty fast during the pre op diet. I lost i think 12lb during my two week liquid diet. -
Anyone Struggle Watching Your Family Eat?
liveaboard15 replied to Crisscat's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It sucks lol. At my house its not really about the cooking but most times everyone orders out. Pizza, Fried chicken, chinese ect... I see it there and i know i cant have any lol. Once i am a little more healed up i will probably just go out riding my jetski during dinner time lol. Get back to the house after sunset. -
keep postponing to start my preop liquid diet.
liveaboard15 replied to Walktoseetheroad's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The length depends on your BMI. Some people can do 1 week. While others like myself needed 2 weeks. Worst thing that can happen is you get in that operating room and they open you up and end up closing you back up without doing anything because the liver was too big. I did 2 weeks. Yea its hard at first but after 3-4 days it gets easier. and as for coffee. While every surgeon is different. I was specifically told not to give up coffee during this time. that the pre op diet would be hard enough. I was free to drink coffee tho they said to use sugar free creamer. Also ask your bariatric team. While mine was liquid. They did say if i was struggling too much i could have 1 small meal a day of lean meats like chicken/fish 2-3oz and 2-3oz of certain veggies. (I did Sockeye salmon and asparagus) -
Psychology appt anxious
liveaboard15 replied to thinblueline's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It really depends on the type of appointment it is. So mine was in two parts. 1st was with a psychologist. In that appointment they just asked me questions about my life, how i do with food. If when i eat snacks like say gold fish, Do i take the entire container to my room or do i pour some in a cup and leave the container, Also about my activity level. What do i do all day, sitting around, walking, also ask about my support system. The 2nd part was a 700 question exam on a computer. That took me about 2 hours or so. Its basic questions asking the same thing over and over in different ways. Making sure you are not suicidal or have any mental issues. -

Soaking in a tub after sleeve surgery
liveaboard15 replied to Happy Stylist's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
my surgeons paperwork said specifically no submerging for 2 weeks minimum and at my two week follow up she checks my incisions and said i was clear to submerge in water. tho every surgeon is different. -
Day 3 post op and protein shakes?
liveaboard15 replied to SleeveToBypass2023's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i was on full liquids once i left the hospital so i started the protein shakes when i got home. It was hard at first. Found it was a bit easier to pour the shakes into those little 1 ounce cups and take shots like that lol I used Premier shakes and Boost Glucose control shakes during those 2 weeks after the hospital. -
I am reaching my 3rd week and i believe i have entered my first stall. weight has remained the same for about 5 days. stalls really suck lmao. lets see how long this one last.

High Risk -- Scared of complications
liveaboard15 replied to ZackAttack1's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
While my weight is lower than yours. I am 34 years old, high blood pressure, Sleep apnea, previous heart attack, Heart valve problems, IBS, Diverticulosis. I got the surgery and so far almost 3 weeks post op i am doing fine. I did not have the blood thinners beyond the hospital tho. But thats good that you get that mediation. Its a prefilled type needle that automatically injects it and then a cover comes down to cover the needle once you come out. I got those at the hospital and i will say i am a huge WIMP when it comes to needles and i barely felt it. it goes in your stomach -

liveaboard15 replied to SleeveToBypass2023's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
yea my largest incision still hurts almost 3 weeks post op. The rest are fine. as for the blood thinner shots. before surgery i got it in my arm. Didnt even feel it and left no bruising. After surgery i got them in my stomach. still didnt hurt but left a smaller bruise -
Mine took from Surgeon first appointment December 14th until Surgery date April 18th. Only thing that held me up was the psyc evaluation. They had no appointments for 2 months. But the sleep study was quick and got results back next day. Endoscope results were given to me during the appointment

liveaboard15 replied to SleeveToBypass2023's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
