TORe Gastric Revision Procedure
liveaboard15 replied to GeorgiaPeach48's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Never even heard of it. I had to google it. So basically its just suturing your pouch even smaller thru your mouth. I didnt even know there was a revision after bypass. Pretty interesting. -
How often do you guys weigh yourselves?

Does anyone have a sample/suggestions to what a liquid diet pee op should look like
liveaboard15 replied to mafer1980's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
All surgeons are different with their pre op plans. This was mine. (HMR Is a brand that my bariatric center provides, They sucked. I used premier protein and fairlife) -
Its the same with me. I had no issues with liquids tho it is easier for me to get in all my liquids if its gatorade instead of water.

Gallbladder removal post vsg
liveaboard15 replied to MaureenA's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes correct. The reasoning my surgeon prescribed it because he said its common for people to get gall stones during rapid weight loss so basically its a preventative thing. -
Gallbladder removal post vsg
liveaboard15 replied to MaureenA's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi. One question. Your profile says you had sleeve on September of last year? Did they not prescribe you medication for gall stones after? I had my surgery 3 weeks ago and they put me on this medication called ursodiol which dissolves gall stones. I will be on this medication for 6 months to 1 year. -
Help! I need advice!
liveaboard15 replied to MommaJo1969's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I mean its your house right? No is no if you dont want the older one there. Now if you are alone. Having someone does help a ton. because after surgery, bending over, getting out of a chair is gonna be difficult. Dropping something on the floor is nearly impossible to get on your own for a little bit. So idk how the 11 year old behaves but if they are well behaved, The kid may come in handy. You could try it out for a day or 2 and see. If the 11 year old is too much then call your daughter to get them and say no more -

What to eat in the soft food stage?
liveaboard15 replied to Happy Stylist's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I started out with that exact stuff... Let me tell you one small pouch of tuna took me about an hour to eat. Just eat slow, Chew chew chew. and yes you will get full quick. 1 chicken egg scrambled is like two meals for me. I add like 2 oz of turkey sausage to my scrambled eggs. -

Weight loss/increase 2 weeks post-op?
liveaboard15 replied to Vivis's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you are reaching your first stall... you will have more stalls along your journey. I am 3 weeks post op and i am currently in a stall. I have not lost weight in almost a week and actually gained about a pound. It will run its course and will loose again. -
Surgery Consult June 3rd
liveaboard15 replied to JDowdy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Once you complete all the pre op testing, Its typically very quick but of course some surgeons could be booked out for a while. Once i completed all my pre op testing the surgery was scheduled for i think a 3 weeks later. and only because i had to do a 2 week pre op diet. -
Lab orders without doctor
liveaboard15 replied to liveaboard15's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Its the same test that are ordered by a doctor. you simply get the results. All of my test i have ever gotten even from my gastric sleeve pre op testing and primary have all been done at quest diagnostics and i always get those results before i even see the doctor for the follow up because the results are posted on quest diagnostics website when you sign up for an account. last year my GI Doctor ordered a few test for me. The follow up was like a month to review results. I got the results in my email within 48 hours lol. Of course if something comes back that worries you you could always go to a urgent care or ER. Now if you order test directly thru quest diagnostics (they have like 50ish test) and a test comes back out of range. One of their physicians do call you to discuss it which i thought was great. 2 years ago i ordered a complete blood panel, cholesterol ect... and my cholesterol came back very high and they called to discuss it. There are even websites where you can order your own imaging. Xray, CT Scan, MRI ect.. but you do speak to a doctor on the phone and its up to them. I did it last year for a MRI of my chest. Cost me $40 to get the imaging order. The MRI came up good. Only thing it found was a small cyst in my chest. -
Lab orders without doctor
liveaboard15 replied to liveaboard15's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
yup. and quest diagnostics as well has their own lab test. they have like 40ish test. So the difference with this website i linked called walk in labs. they have thousands of test. Beyond what quest or labcorp offer from their website. One test i wanted last year was a triponin test (indicates possible heart attack or heart damage) and the test is from lab corp and i asked lab corp if i could buy the test and they said not directly thru them. So i got it from one of those websites like walk in labs and got the test done. -
spoon... yea... spoon. I definitely dont use my finger... LMAO Maybe i should use a spoon... lol

i thought we had to watch the carbs more than calories in foods. So thats what i have been looking at going to the grocery store. Anything with a lot of carbs i leave behind.
-
So i bought hummus a few days ago and next to the humus they have their NAAN bread, Tandori Bread and others that are typically found in the middle east. I was so sad when i saw the nutrition facts. Very high in carbs. (typical with bread) and some of the nutrition facts said the serving size was 1/3rd of 1 slice of bread. I was like seriously??? LOL so now i have nothing to eat my hummus with lol

I drink the chocolate one everyday from premier. I have not had the coffee one yet. Need to get me a 4 pack and try it out.
-
Probably does. not much tho. I did buy these ice coffee ones from bariatric pal and they are delicious. Each packet has 120 calories.
-
Interesting. Even on the website no nutrition information on it. but i just went to my kitchen and the coffee does not have nutrition facts on it either and i use the Tim Horton Brand coffee.
-
It isn't mandatory for every single food product to have a nutrition label—but it really depends on what the product is and where it is being sold. Some will have a website on its label where you can get the nutrition facts. what exactly did you buy? Can you post a picture of it?

goes to show how different all these surgeons are lol
-
Thats a little odd. i am 3 weeks PO and my #2's are the most solid thing in the world that its painful to go number 2 lol. Doctor prescribed stool softeners which i take but dont seem to do much. Try taking GASX
