Does eating still take 20 mins months down the road?
liveaboard15 replied to Vivis's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yea you are not suppose to drink for 30-45 minutes (To let your protein get absorbed) But if i feel like i have food stuck in my throat. i do take a small sip. I can eat a little quicker but i make sure not to. I take a bite like every few minutes. As for drinking before meals. This came up during my last nutritionist class and they said you can drink right before eating that its not a issue. But my paperwork says the drinking after eating thing is life long. (Tho of course all surgeons are different with their rules and such lol) -
So i had my surgery 4 weeks ago today. Today i decided to see how far i can push my walking as before surgery walking even 1,000ft i would be exhausted and in a lot of pain in my back. Today i walked almost 4 miles without issue. wasnt even breathing too hard, didnt need to take a break. Could have kept going but my feet hurt lol. Need to get me some proper shoes.

Walking is boring lmao. and i forgot my headphones and was like ahh screw it. I have a nice mountain bike that i want to ride but i need to get it serviced. Been sitting for a couple years now.

I walk throughout my house all day. i am a person who cant sit still for long lol. but no i havnet spoken to my actual surgeon about it. it started happening right after my 2 week follow up and my next follow up is in 3 months.

yes it was scary and for me it was only in my right leg. Its doing a lot better since last week
-
I dealt with this for about 2 weeks now on and off. Mainly in my calf area and also swelled. I thought it could have been a blood clot so i went to the ER last week and they did a ultrasound as well from the top of my leg all the way down and no clot. they said either dehydration and or just your body going thru changes with the surgery. tho my surgery was only 1 month ago. I did buy this massager for my calves and love it. I feel better after using it.

So you didnt take the vitamins as you should have and your kidneys got damaged?

How often do you weigh yourself after WLS?
liveaboard15 replied to Possum220's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
2-3 weeks. Currently in a stall so wont be weighing myself for a few more weeks lol -
24 hour liquid diet... Nah the worst part is some of us are on that for 2 weeks or even more lol. But yea like Ms. sss suggested. Take before pictures and measurements. I measured myself before i started the liquid diet around my chest, stomach, thigh, calf, waist. and i remeasure each month

Outpatient surgery?
liveaboard15 replied to Dani1491's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Holy crap. Thats the most i have seen so far for sleeve surgery. -
2 weeks of liquid was a breeze??? LMAO if that was a breeze then this will be easy for you. I was not really hungry my first 2 weeks after surgery. I had to set alarms to remind me to get in my protein and water. Good luck!

Finally happening! Today is the day 😊
liveaboard15 replied to Merill's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Had to look at your location. you are in Australia lol. Its like 5am over there. Here in my part of the USA its late. Good luck with surgery. Bring your phone charger, maybe a magazine or book and or headphones if you want to listen to music after surgery. (I listed to music up until i got to the operating room. Tho my operating room had loud music playing when i got in. They were partying -
I thought the same thing LMAO> i was like WTF so late...

liveaboard15 replied to SleeveToBypass2023's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No problem. Also remember you are reaching your 3rd week here soon. Most people stall out at that time or a little before where you wont loose any weight for a couple weeks or so. I am on week 4 and i havent lost any weight now for about 2 weeks. so dont get disgorged when that time comes. It will pass. -
Outpatient surgery?
liveaboard15 replied to Dani1491's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ok yea a bit cheaper. I am self pay. My sleeve was $18K and for bypass the self pay rate at my location would have been $23K -

i am on soft foods. and my goal according to my paperwork is to have at least 400-600 calories. typically at a time i can eat about 3-4oz of food but that takes me like an hour. You take a bite, chew chew chew. give it a bit, take another bite, chew chew chew, give it a bit and so on til you finish eating. each meal should take you around a half hour to eat -
Outpatient surgery?
liveaboard15 replied to Dani1491's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Curious. how much is your procedure? I was self pay as well. Wonder what the cost difference is between a hospital stay and outpatient. -
Love this little pan i got at walmart for 7 bucks. Been using it almost every day now to cook what i want to eat. Like here in the picture. Just 2 oz of turkey sausage and a handful of onions. 1 little meal that fills me up. Perfect for single meals.

Outpatient surgery?
liveaboard15 replied to Dani1491's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
ooof. I would never want to be released same day. That first day right after surgery was rough, very rough. I am glad i was in a hospital where i was monitored overnight. Also they give you fluids until you are discharged the next day which was great because drinking right after surgery first was not allowed for a few hours then you can only take tiny sips. -
