Getting money back from surgery
liveaboard15 replied to liveaboard15's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So for self pay patients we get a self pay rate. The money must be paid before surgery. which i paid everything on this list. To me its a mistake that they are refunded. but they said they checked and the phone call to the hospital was recorded and they have it in their notes so if something comes up later its not my problem lol. -
I am approved!!!

Insight/thoughts for someone considering sleeve surgery
liveaboard15 replied to Veebear's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am not a fan of gyms. I work out at night. At around sunset I go to an area i like (next to the river) and walk for about an hour or so. before surgery i could not walk for 5 minutes. -
Literally crying right now
liveaboard15 replied to SleeveToBypass2023's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your sleeve can hold about 3-4oz of food... I am 5-6 weeks post op and i can eat about 4oz of food in one sitting.. but i take my time. I eat slowely and chew chew chew. for example. 1 chicken egg scrambled, a handful of chopped onions, 2-3oz of turkey sausage and 1 slice of cheese is my normal breakfast lately. I eat about half and relax. Then maybe 10-15 minutes later i take another bite and so on. -
PreOp Diet Struggles
liveaboard15 replied to Darcell76's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a couple slip ups... Mine was suppose to be a liquid only diet but i still had lean meat most days. Typically 3oz of salmon or tuna or chicken once a day. Even my surgeon said to try my hardest to stick to the liquid diet but if i couldnt i could have 1 small meal lean meats 2-3oz. -
Is there a way to shrink in Liver in 1 week?
liveaboard15 replied to zo30e28's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Most people cheat a day or two in their pre op diet... Is a good thing? no... will it cause them to cancel your surgery... Not at all... you are not gonna get a bunch of fat on your liver from 1 cheat meal... -
Feeling a bit discouraged…
liveaboard15 replied to Capricorn moon's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You honestly are not as heavy as most when you started. same height as me. but you were only at 228lb. Those with less to loose typically dont loose super fast like those that start out at much heavier weights. I started at 317lb and i had my surgery a couple days before you and i have lost since about 40 but i was much much heavier than you. So you will loose but you wont loose a ton as quick as the heavier people. Just stick to your plan. -
Insight/thoughts for someone considering sleeve surgery
liveaboard15 replied to Veebear's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I dont think any insurance will cover skin removal since that is a cosmetic issue. I am just 1 inch taller than you and i was at 317lb when i first started. I am about 5 weeks post op and i have lost about 40lb and its awesome. before surgery i could not stand more than 5 minutes without my back hurting like crazy and i could not walk across a mall. Now i am walking miles a day and have no issues standing. only 5 weeks in and i find it worth it. I cant wait to loose more. Only thing that does suck is well food was a major part of my life as most of us. I miss the going out and grabbing mcdonalds or taco bell or going with friends to random places and pigging out lmao. I was self pay. My insurance did not cover it. After surgery its a huge change with food. so far for the last 5 weeks (since i started on actual food and not liquids ) ive been eating pretty much the same thing and i am starting to get really tired of it. Need to try different things. Make sure you dont have any acid reflux. (doctor will probably order an endoscopy) because if so then the sleeve wont work for you. -
so today i had to get dressed up for a job interview, getting really bored just sitting around the house all day so i figured i would get a part time job to keep me busy and the only nice clothes i have are some i bought in late March for a funeral. At that time the pants did not fit. I could not close the top button so i used a belt to keep it closed. Today i wore it for the interview and they were too large and even using the belt at the last notch they were not secure and the shirt i wore was one that was too small in late march fit me perfectly today Gotta say i love that. LMAO.

I cant wait to loose more. I literally have an entire closet of nearly brand new or brand new clothing that i have not been able to wear since 2014.

It is not possible to delete any thread. Once something gets posted. It stays on this website forever. Its also impossible to delete your own account. Maybe you can edit and remove what you wrote idk lol

staples? I didnt have stables. They used surgical glue which faded away after about a month. but mine were still a little itchy. i used some neosporin pain+itch relief. Maybe that can work for you?

Vitamins and supplements
liveaboard15 replied to bombshellocks's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My surgeons office specifically said no on the patches. I wore them for the first 2 weeks. then i started taking capsules. The chewable and the ones that melt in your mouth made me throw up within minutes. Even the capsule ones make me very nauseas but its better than the others. -
idk if it would work for you the one my hospital recommended for diabetics was the boost glucose control shakes. But if you cant control your sugar i would call your surgeons office and let them know maybe they can give you additional things you can eat. Mine did. They allowed 1 small meal a day for those that were having issues. Typically was lean meats like chicken or fish with a tiny amount of veggies.
-
Nice! Usually you get approval first then a surgery date lol. Good luck!
-
I dont smoke or vape but the hospitals paperwork for the surgery said obviously to stop that if stopping was too difficult to get the patch or gum or go see the surgeon for some prescription stuff. idk what that is tho.

Social eating after gastric sleeve
liveaboard15 replied to TriStateSleever's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
i dont eat together with family. We all go to our own rooms. But i simply have a tiny portion. 4oz bowl filled with whatever is for dinner and that takes me 30 minutes or so to eat. So far i have not had any issues with anything i have tried. I have coffee without issue but i use sugar free creamer. But yes i always eat the protein first. whatever else is there last. -
i am almost 5 weeks post op and i still struggle to get enough water in. I do wake up a couple times a night with a very dry mouth and i keep a water container next to my bed. But i know i am not getting enough water by the color of my pee which is what the surgeon told me to watch. water is difficult.

Throat burns post sleeve
liveaboard15 replied to ShoppGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a script for omeprazole. 90 pills at a time. Cost with insurance which i just picked up yesterday was 6 bucks and my insurance does not even pay anything its just the discounted price. If they dont cover it, Use GOODRX. and you will get a decent discount. After surgery i did get a stronger medicaton for 30 days called pantropazole 40mg and was told to stop taking omeprazole until thats finished. -
LOL true true. I personally like to know things. I have done so many different blood test that i bought lab orders for online just because i like to know lmao
-
you could go to your primary care and get a lab order for different allergy test to see if you can find out what you are now allergic to. I did several blood test last year for certain types of food (all came back negative) but also can test for things you breath in.
