1 week away from changing my life
TheWeightisOvr replied to wendyrlandry's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Congratulations on your surgery date! You’ve been through so much so I know you are super duper excited. Im still on fluids I had sleeve surgery a week ago. I do like the Isopure Infusions, you can add as little or as much as you like, and I also like the Isopure zero carb zero sugar clear protein(that one is a bit pricey) but you get 32 grams in one bottle. I get them as Vitamin shoppe -
One Year Sleeve Anniversary!!
TheWeightisOvr replied to la0525's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Congratulations on your weight loss that is amazing! Celebrate that Queen because without the surgery you would mid have accomplished that on your own. And don’t compare yourself to others weight loss. All you can do is evaluate your own habits, nutrient intake and your overall diet, if you feel you could have been more disciplined make those adjustments now and continue to enjoy your efforts you look great! -
So happy to report I finally got some Bowel relief. The Colace, Miralax, and fluids were definitely a factor but what really made it come along was using my squatty potty. I forgot I had one because pre surgery it wasn’t that helpful but I guess post surgery it will be now. Lol 😂 💩 I never thought I would get so excited about a BM I was always regular. Sleeve was 2/28, exactly a week ago. https://www.squattypotty.com/

Squatty Potty did it!
TheWeightisOvr replied to TheWeightisOvr's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I swear when I sat on that thing the rumble started immediately. It took some patience the first time because you have to let it work, so I just got comfortable and waited lol I’ve gone twice a day now. -
Abdominal Bloating or Gas?
TheWeightisOvr replied to TheWeightisOvr's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Man I can’t imagine burping like that in between sips. I can see how you would be confused as to when you feel full or have trouble getting your fluids in 😩 My gas has all been abdominal. Luckily I haven’t experienced a lot of burping or chest gas nothing at all really up top. Today though I have passed a lot of gas the other way. If you’re not taking huge sips and you don’t feel any burn like from heartburn and it also doesn’t accompany Dizziness, Nausea, and other pain, I think it’s just more time that needs to pass in order for all of it to expel. Definitely take your Omeprazole, Gas-X. I also incorporate Colace & Miralax and it is making a huge difference and of course walk. Not getting your liquids in makes it actually worse if you can believe that I’ve learned that the hard way. I would give it another few days. -
👋🏼 Everyone! My first solo post haha. Long time Lurker. Had Sleeve surgery w/HH repair on 2/28. Definitely went through buyers remorse the first 2 days. Mostly due to gas and incision pain. Today I am moving around much better still not quite getting all my protein in but I know it will come. Preop I lost 42lbs, not sure how much post yet. My issue is I have bad gas or bloat in my abdominal area. I didn’t have chest, shoulder, back gas pains it’s only been in my stomach area. I’ve been walking, walking, I pass some gas but not a ton. It’s like the gas is just floating around in there and my bottom part is sealed it up in there like a tomb if that makes sense. I don’t have Heartburn, nausea, or any vomiting, or pain in my chest area at all so I don’t think it’s Gerd. Could I still have surgical gas in my abdomen this far out? And does water help expel it if I continuously drink? No Bowel movement yet either. I take my Omeprazole, Colace as well as some Miralax sometimes with my water. I’m still on Clear/Full Liquids until 3/16 and I had a 1 week liquid diet the week before surgery. any help is appreciated!

Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy
TheWeightisOvr replied to GodsManna4Life's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am so sorry you’re experiencing that. It really is true that he’s they say on here everyone’s experience is unique. Nothing tastes good to me either but what’s been working is thinking of the nutrients and nourishment my body needs so I changed my brain to not look for the yummy just yet and think of it as a necessity. could the headaches be coming from dehydration? I took my nausea meds once and it really helped you should have some. I also make sure I take my Omeprazole(Prilosec) as well to minimize the stomach acid. Lastly just try to get as much rest as you can too. Our body does all of our healing while we’re sleeping so rest, and rest some more after you’ve done your walking. I am praying for yoke healing. -

TheWeightisOvr replied to LilaNicole20's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi there! I just had surgery 5 days ago. Congratulations to use both I guess lol Post op has been a little rough for me but today is sooooo much better. I keep remembering the gas issues will subside soon enough the rumbles create crazy pain. My gas was all is my stomach cavity area. It’s also been slow going with the fluids but I just try to sip what I can. If water is the only thing that feels good that day I sip that every few minutes with some Miralax in it. This first week just experiment with clear liquids and ease until Full if you can’t seem to get it all in. also alternating on whether hot or cold feels better on your tummy. Heat pad helps wonders! Good luck and take it easy if you can. -

Mine is tomorrow at 3pm as well. I’m sure they mean well but some of our supporters just have no idea what we’re going through. Respectfully acknowledge their feedback but tell them confidently you know what’s best for you and their support would mean a lot to you but if they don’t support it could they keep their comments to themselves. I wish you the best God has in store for you and a very uneventful surgery & recovery! -

3 weeks post op and I want to detox
TheWeightisOvr replied to Olivette's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi Olivette, Take some time to think about your eating habits since you had surgery, what did you eat? Did you get all your fluids in as well? If you followed your plan and if allowed meats at this stage then please contact your care team, Nutritionist or Surgeon to find out what steps you can take. You did so good feeling something is off this early on so you’re in tune with knowing how you want to feel. you may be jumping the gun though so please don’t do the cleanse and contact your care team, you still have years to get used to your new stomach so you need guidance along the way. Hope you feel better! -
Yay! I love a happy end result 🥰

Advice for Sleeve Surgery February 28th
TheWeightisOvr replied to chowell12's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Surgery Twin! 👋🏼👋🏼👋🏼💪🏽✌🏽✌🏽 I’m headed to the losers bench the 28th as well. Grady cat is correct. I have that stuff too. I was tempted to stock up on other foods but I remembered that my taste might change and I won’t like what I like now so I only got a little bit of things protein wise. I stocked up on full liquid stuff that my son can eat too if i don’t like it. my hospital bag will be very light. The nurse said as much on the preop call as well so don’t take a lot. -

TheWeightisOvr replied to LilaNicole20's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Haha you are literally my surgery twin in appetite lol Exactly my same feelings when I experience food. I didn’t have to do a 2 week because I lost weight prior to the 2 week getting my BMI down 3 points. So I’m in my 1 week preop. Surgery is Monday. I got so weak yesterday from the slight carb withdrawals but today is much better, they always say the 3rd day is the worse. Today is my last day of full liquids, tomorrow I start clears. I’m packing my hospital bag now which will be very light. Lol I love this forum so much, we get so much real life information. Good luck to you! Feel free to reach out a anytime! -

Pre Operative Chaos and Confusion
TheWeightisOvr replied to sleeved.brc's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It seems rather disorganized without telling you why. A timeline should have been given to you at your first appointment and followed completely. I would voice a concern about the confusion you feel and give them the opportunity to explain. -

Definitely me lol so glad I wasn’t going crazy haha. I’ve been doing so good too bud the weekend before I was definitely looking for my favorites. And the thing is I had been doing so good before that I couldn’t even eat it all if was sooo funny but sad at the waste of food & money. That red velvet cake tasted like nothing but pure sugar so gross. -

You really bring up some very real practical thought analysis to this. I think a lot of us have gotten to the point where we are tired of the yoyo dieting once and for all and now want this tool to help aid our efforts as we didn’t have the tool In our other efforts. You can gain your weight back and then some more if you go back to your eating habits but if you feel that you will go back to your eating habits and you’re not ready to make this lifestyle change I definitely wouldn’t go through with it that doesn’t mean that you won’t be ready for me I am really really tired of being overweight. I’m going to use these next two years after the surgery to push my body get the lifestyle and stick with the lifestyle but that’s what I resolved in my mind everybody has to do that for themselves. I know you’re seeking the surgery for the same relief. I do hope you get there and The tool provided through surgery will help aid you and your efforts good luck to you! You can always message me you’re probably anybody on here for moral support. -
