    Unfill

Has anyone experienced chest pain when after getting filling taken out? Not a sharp pain but discomfort. I just had all of mine removed today and at first it was just a faint feeling and I asked my doctor and he said I shouldn't feel anything in my chest. It got a little stronger as I drove away. In the center and under my left breast.

2 months out and starting to have pain

Thanks Slim-n-tn and Heather O for responded I'm taking your advice and have a call into my doctor now. My eating has been fine since my last fill on the Nov 3rd and actually the entire time I've had the band. I am really carefull about chewing and eating slow and I've yet to throw anything up or slime, Thank Goodness. That is why this pain is really weird and out of no where. I haven't done anything out of the ordinary. I was sore after the surgery but this feels different, really sharp when I inhale hurts the most and when I walk around.
  6. I am a little over 2 months into the band and everything has been going really well. I've lost about 35 lbs and will have my 2nd fill on Dec 10th. For the past 3 days I've had this pain on my left side only. Kinda feels like its under my rib cage and hurts when I take in deep breaths. Not sure if its my port its on the same side but lower. Has anyone experienced this? Didn't know if I should contact my doctor but its not getting better and hurts a little more each day. My drinking and eating is fine. Any ideas on what this could be is appreciated.

    Doctor couldn't find my port

Thanks everyone that responded. It just made me a little nervous when he couldn't find it and then he mentioned flipped port. Hopefully that isn't the case...if not and surgery is needed to correct is it basically the same thing as the original surgery, they go in where the port is already and just turn it back?

    Doctor couldn't find my port

Just curious if anyone out has experienced this. I went to have my first fill this morning..I was banded on Sept 16th. My doctor couldn't find my port to give me a fill...he tried and put the needle a couple of times but couldn't find it. He stated there was alot of scar tissue there which makes it hard to find sometimes and I will need to go to radiology to have them do it. He once I loose more weight my stomach will become softer and there shouldn't be a problem finding it...then he states sometime scar tissue makes the port flip:eek:. So I of course begin to panic he didn't seem to concern about it and says I shouldn't worry. Has this happened to anyone where your surgeon couldn't give you a fill because they couldn't find your port? WHat the procedure when radiology does it?

    SLIME?? Anybody??

Question about the sliming...when someone slimes do you feel sick while you are doing it? Is it like throwing up and you heave a little or is it just thick saliva that is in your mouth you are just spitting out because its too gross to swallow? I haven't had it happen to me but am scheduled for my first fill soon and trying to mentally prepare.
  10. Hello fellow September Bandsters...I am 2 days post op and feeling ok. I was surprised I had to stay in the hospital as long as I did. I am so happy it is over and everything went well. All the anxiety about my liver shrinking is also over thank goodness. Now I am just rying to heal. I lost 13 lbs before surgery on my liquid diet:thumbup: and gained like 5 lbs after surgery:mad2: with no appetite which I understand is normal because of the bloating. The gas hasn't been as bad maybe because I am trying to walk alot. Note to anyone being banded soon when the nurse ask you to use that breathing amchine thing 10 times an hour please do it, I didn't because it hurt but now I have a little congestion to deal with . I am really surprised at how I feel today..I still need help getting in and out of bed but other than a soreness in my tummy I feel ok. I don't like using the word hate but I really hate being nauseous:thumbdown: and have only had 1 real bout of it so far which I am also grateful for. I know there are possibilites down the line with the band. Anyway just wanted to post, I really love this website and I'm glad to begin this new journey with all of you. Good Luck

    Really starting to worry

Yes, I am. I am sticking to my pre liquid diet to the letter but I still wonder is it enough to shrink my liver. Can you lose weight and not shrink your liver? :confused:I just have to trust the 2 weeks is enough to do it. I'm not self pay but I really want to have this done on my Sept 16th date it seems like it took so long to get here. I haven't read too many post about liver not shrinking enough to have the surgery so I am hoping it isn't the norm. Good Luck

    Any September Banders?

Hello, My date was Sept 18th and Dr.'s office called yesterday to move my date to the 16th. So glad I started the liquid diet already. Very excited but still very nervous and very happy to be a Sept Samurai. Anyone banded at Baylor Irving, Tx. My surgeon is Dr. Rivera?
  13. Hi Trishalight, I just received my date its the 18th and I am now very nervous myself. I've never had surgery before and I have no tolerance for pain.(smile) I am 37 yrs and and very happy my mommy will be there (smile). There is alot of good information I've gained alot of knowledge on this website under the post Lap band forum, alot of concerns were answered. You've listed great reasons for having this surgery have confidence in that and yourself and pray and you'll be fine. I wish you all the best.

    Any September Banders?

Hello all, I just received my date today and I am very excited and nervous. My surgery date is Sept 18th. I've read and learned so much from this website and would love to be a September Samurai. Lise I also have to do a pre liquid diet for 2 weeks. I have gradually tried to get my body used to it so it won't go in complete shock. Good Luck everyone.

    Approval suprise!!

Congrats! I had to take a class with a nutrionist. It was very good, she told me what I will eat on my pre op diet, after the surgery through like 6 weeks. There was information about the surgery before and after, medication before and after. I was approved on July 7th and just finished all of my pre op test and now I am waiting for a date. The main thing in protein I've started testing a few she had on her list so I'll be ready for my pre op diet. It's taken awhile for my taste buds to adjust so I am glad I've had this time to adjust
