Hey there! I actually love going to gym classes especially the dance ones but my schedule is so not in line with most gym class schedules (late night bartender here- go to work too late to make evening classes and sleep too late to make morning classes) that being said there are a TON of great FREE workout videos on on YouTube. I’ve found step aerobic classes, Zumba, yoga, kickboxing etc

So protein tricks that help me.. I start almost every morning with a protein shake mixed with half a cup of coffee and some ice (most of them are way too sweet for me to drink on their own) this knocks out 30grams of protein right off the bat. I usually also have either a light and fit Greek yogurt or Oikos Zero (both around 100 ish calories and 15 grams of protein) once a day. As other mentioned I also enjoy hummus which obviously isn’t as high protein as other things but it is low in fat/calories comparatively. I usually enjoy it with either sliced cucumbers or carrots (one thing a lot of people forget about is the importance of fiber that doesn’t come from grains/starch) I know you enjoy your English muffin and I’m ALL for enjoying the things that work for you but perhaps you could amp up the proteins and cut some carbs calories by only eating a half of an English muffin with cream cheese and then layer a little deli meat on top for extra protein? (Sliced turkey or ham would both be good with a little cream cheese or even smoked salmon/lox) When I’m working (super active Job as a bartender) I do drink a Fairlife chocolate protein shake at some point in the evening so that’s another 30 grams of protein. I do usually meal prep one actually cooked meal, this week I’m having 2.5 oz taco seasoned catfish, 2 tablespoons sautéed mixed veggies, and 2 tablespoons refried beans- I think that meals comes in at around 150 calories. If you need more protein snacks a lot of people like Quest products I think their chips are …okay… I don’t love them. I did find a brand on Amazon called IWON that is made out of brown rice, quionoa, and pea protein- they have a bunch of flavors and I like them better but they are a touch pricier and 180 calories a bag so I use those as a meal slot- but sometimes it’s good for on the go. Anyway I hope some of this is useful but either way I wish you the best of luck!

Congratulations on you’re achievement! Like you I can def eat over the 1,000 calories threshold easily. I’m about 3.5 months out and I try to eat between 1,100-1,300 calories a day- but this requires me to plan out all my bites and snacks. (I try to have six small meals a day give or take) but for sure I could eat 1,500-1,800 easily. It can be a little frustrating seeing people who are a year out and still can’t eat that much but at the end of the day- every body is different and ya just gotta embrace the one you got. Remember to be kind to yourself and celebrate everything you’ve done so far!

GradyCat I actually really the the Caulipower pizzas- I have an autoimmune disease that makes eating gluten a risky affair for me (HIVES suck) so I used to eat those pizzas before I had surgery. I really like their Margherita and I recently bought a buffalo chicken pizza by them as well (haven't tried it yet) If there's any piece of advice I can offer is that sometimes you have to cook the cauliflower pizza a touch longer just to get a nice crispy crust. Hope you like them!

I work as a bartender, so I'm constantly moving and on the go. Like others have suggested always having a fluid source at an arms reach will be the constant visual reminder for you to drink. Sometimes its hard and I go an hour or so without taking a sip but it's getting easier as time goes on. Also, I usually have an assortment because my taste buds have definitely changed post surgery and can be a little picky so I typically have at least two if not three options (water with lemon, gatorade/crystal light/, maybe a tea/decaf coffee etc)

YES! This is my experience too. I've always been the one who was hot all the time, sweat frequently and all over, never ever cold. In fact I've always loved cold weather. Post surgery though, I've noticed that my sensitivity is definitely higher. My hands and feet have been cold frequently and I swear to you the other night I was shaking so hard my cat walked over to me with this concerned look on her face like I was seizing- the worst I have ever shivered in my life. Hoping that it will just be a temporary thing for a year or two but man....strange times. -

Hi y'all! I was sleeved December 08, 2021. Surgery Weight: 263 Current Weight: 231 Obviously I know I won't continue to lose at this same rate in the upcoming months but getting such a huge head start has been such a motivation. The struggle will come when I don't see those same numbers and I'm just going to have to remember that slow and steady wins the race. Even though weight loss has been great thus far my energy has sucked. I'm meeting my liquid and protein goals daily and taking a bariatric multivitamin. I don't know if it's just that I have a very active job (Bartender- lots of lifting, squatting, stocking, walking- usually 4-6 miles a day) and I'm currently consuming only a third of the calories I used to....or if its just my Hashimoto's flaring up with all the stress on my body of late, hoping things begin to equalize in the next few weeks though. Being this tired all the time is a real bummer. -

Congratulations! I'm 5'9 and my starting weight was right around the same as yours. I was sleeved on December 08 and have already dropped weight- hoping that I too can reduce my thyroid medications and get rid of my sleep apnea machine once I drop under 200 lbs. Best of luck moving forward!
