My surgery was August 11, 2008, and still no fill beyond the 3cc at surgery. The weight loss has slowed to a strandstill and I'm sure I'll get a fill in two weeks during my next appt. My doctor has told me as long as I was losing weight and not fighting hunger, he would hold off on the fills. Preop weight: 323 Today: 234 Jeans, size 48 to 38 Shirts, size XXXL to L Personal Goal: 210

February 11th was my 6 month bandiversarie. Start weight 323 I've lost 90 lbs since my pre-op weight. (yes us guys loose it faster) I've gone from size 48 to 38 jeans, and from XXL to large shirts. I can make 2 miles on a treadmill in less than 25 minutes (4 times a week) I have so much more energy. No more diabetic meds, or cpap and 1 less blood pressure med. Still no fill (Doctor says as long as I keep loosing, no need beyond the 3cc at surgery).

I'm wishing all of us August Banders have a good Christmas season, continue to drop weight and become healthy. I was in Nashville TN the week before Thanksgiving for a convention and managed to maintain my weight that week and Thanksgiving week. I feel like I finally have a grip on the weight monster. I notice that I'm starting to get hungry quicker, but I am satisfied after eating. The weight continues to come off, 3 additional pounds (from last Monday) this morning.

I was banded August 11 and have lost 70 pounds (started @ 323) and still have not had a fill above the 3cc done during surgery. The doctor has said as long as I keep loosing, there is no need for a fill. They said there is another patient, that is 5 months post op that hasnt had a fill either. Has anyone else gone this long? WTG Renob.... It's been almost 13 weeks since surgery and have dropped 65 pounds (includes pre-op diet). Still no fill. I want to lose about another 40. I now enjoy going to the gym, having a little trouble with the wife not as excited about going. John Preop 323 Today 258

Hey everyone... I was banded August 11th and doing great! No fill yet but I'm down from 323 to 258. I've been able to drop my diabetes meds, a blood pressure pill, and discontinue the cpap for sleep apnea. The doctor indicated that as long as I continue to loose weight, they will hold off of my first fill. John

I was banded August 11, 2008, no fill yet. Yesterday was 12 weeks post op. On my last appt, the doctor said I was doing good with the small fill during surgery, and my new learned eating habits are taking care of the weight. They mentioned ther was one guy that went 6 mts without a fill. PreOp weight: 323 BMI: 42.61 Today: 258 BMI: 34.04

Crystal light is a lifesaver, no problems at all. My first fill is Tuesday, I was banded August 11th.

Just an update... 3 weeks postop and I'm down 41 pounds from my preop weight. BMI has dropped from 42 to 37.5. Only 8 more days of mushies. JB

I'm down 30 pounds since the pre-op diet, surgery was on the 11th. I think if I see another can of boost, I'll scream. Can't wait untill next Wednesday when I get my food plan for mushys.

I was banded on the 11th. No gas pains at all, I am sore and had some trouble drinking everything i need to...seems I feel full and I don't want to push it. Oh yeah, I'm nervous. Right after the pre-op visit and into the first weekend of the pre-op diet I worried if I had made a good choice. Now 6 days away from surgery, I know this is what I need to do, the worry is gone and now just excitement. John

1 more week for me. The clock is running and I'm counting days. I'm starting to get comfortable with the pre-op, nothing but liquids (600 calories a day) for almost a week. Jenbug, mines on the 11th too. The pre-op diet hasn't been too rough, I'm ready for the surgery date to hurry up and get here.

Hi everyone, and thanks for all the information. Sometimes it's overwhelming. The pre-op diet is going (so very slow). My surgery is August 11 in Shreveport LA by Dr Norwood.

I completed my "Tour De Food" and started the pre-op diet. This thread has been very helpful and I wanted to jump in and tell everyone thank you for sharing this time in our lives. It's comforting to know there are others with the same thoughts, worries and excitement. Everything is on track, I’m ready for August 11.
