Anxiety AFTER surgery?
Puju10 replied to Julescincy75's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm just curious Jules, were you on any diet or liquid before your surgery to get use to eating less. I too get anxiety sometimes and HATE that heart racing thing. -
Worries, freak outs, and questions!
Puju10 replied to travelinsnorkel's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too had all of the worries, freak outs and questions. I'm scheduled to get evaluated in Sept. but I have been on this site listening to everyone and learning as much as I can about the positive and the complications etc...The food relationship was my real worry(come on its fun to go pig out once in a while on your favorite foods) BUT I started to think about how I feel afterwards each time and its not good. I am so looking forward to getting on with this process but I am glad its slower then faster because I am feeling more and more positive that I am making the right decision! -
Thanks mtanna. I have aetna and I will call today.

Do you know many that have had a blod clot or PE. I'm trying to get approved for Lap banding and I have had a PE before (blood clots covering my lungs). Just curious. -
Did you gain weight on purpose?
Puju10 replied to cobrien78's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My 2 Dr. recommend I get Lap band surgery for medical reasons and right now I'm 5'8" and 272lb. (I'm always 280 and can get to 250 but always spring back to 280). We are doing our own biggest loser at work and I have to admit til I get approved I been almost sabatoging myself on this diet contest. I didn't want to admit that cause I'm trying to keep my BMI up there. My point is I now know I'm not alone. Thank you! -
I"m in the very beginning stages of the Lapband process. 2 Doctors recommended it to me(will also write the nessary letters), I called my insurance company to see if they cover it and they said if I meet the criteria and I do. Could I still be denied? Just curious

Thank you Jachut! I have been trying to follow an 1800 to 2000 calorie diet now. Unfortunately not having any restrictions yet on my intake I manage to overdo once in a while. I have lost minimal this month. I will continue to do this but still pursue the Lap banding process. Unfortunately for me I'm good for a while but tend to lose focus.(food wise). Never though do I lose focus excercising-wise. So I'm happy to here how much you do still excercise!!

I am a avid fan of working out hard. I weight train, do step aerobics, walk etc.. I havent' gotten the lap band yet(going through the process) but I have to say I was worried about the fueling too. Keep me updated on how its working out Please!!

Is it really difficult to get approved? My primary Dr. recommended Lap banding and so did a Pulmonary specialist. I have Aetna and I called and they said they would cover it if I meet the criteria. (unfortunately I do). My Doctors said they would write the necessary letters and they started doing the tests(I have a medical condition) before my initial appointment Sept. 2. OIY!!

I have also been on every diet since I was 9 yr old. I am working on being approved. My regular Dr. and my pulmonary Dr. want me to get it done for health reasons. Losing the weight hasn't always been the problem for me its keeping it off thats almost impossible for me to do. I focus for a while and then I lose focus. I'm hoping the Lap Band will remind me to stay focused when I'm about to lose it.

I agree with you do have to control your head hunger. I just beginning the whole lap band process but I have also been in therapy for almost 8 months to deal with my other issues so I can be successful. -
Hello! I'm a hairdresser from NJ who has been battling the bulge since I was 9.(I'm 41 now). I weigh about 280 at 5'8" but am an avid excerciser (step aroebics, weight training, walking etc.)and have managed to stay a size 18 (which i don't totally hate). I just started the process for getting lap banding because unfortunately I have a health issue that I need to loose over 100lbs. My question is can you really excercise as hard as you want or am use too. As crazy as it sounds I really enjoy working out. It helps me not only physically but mentally.
