  1. Thank you Angie....how is it that your so philosophical at such a youg age?? I am going to do some more reading on line about the "after" restrictions....I'll keep you updated...thank you again...Kerrie
  2. Hi LUCY LOSERS:biggrin: my surgery date is March the 9th...I am having a horrible time with the liquid diet....I called the assistant at my surgeons office today and informed her that I had fainted yesterday....she wasn't surprised at all...okay???...she told me to add another shake  to my regime'!!! Seriously I have worked my tail off to get this surgery approved...and this two week liquid thing is so not ok with me. Why is it that some patients are required do this diet for only 2 days and others don't have to do it at all....???? But I have to do it for 2 long weeks? I am not a person that leans toward eating "fatty" foods. I haven't been to a fast food joint in over 2 years....I don't drink soda....I am a carb junky person who's had to learn to balance protien and veggies as my main meal, I am only able to have carbs one time a day and it has to be wheat based! I havn't had white break in 5 years...Yes, I know some of you doubt this...go ahead call me a liar at this point I don't really care...my problem is eating too much of something or not eating enough in one day...the nutritionist say's I've been in Ketosis for a very very long time....Here's the important part....I'm considering cancelling this surgery totally! I don't know that I want to live for the rest of my life no being able to choose when I want to eat or drink somehting...I want to be able to have a glass of wine with a friend when i choose to...I want to be able to enjoy a draft on a Sunday afternoon watching the football game...I just think that this may be too a drastic measure for me...Yes I don't want to be a 20/22 size forever, but does the rewarded wieght loss really make-up for being able to share or chose to take part in many many events??? I am so torn and I have no idea what to do...someting inside of me is telling me not do do this, no to go forward and have the lap-band placed....please help......Oh and I am extra extra grouchy because I have this terrible terrible headache that began hours after I started this liquid diet..sorry for the attitude...:cursing:..thanks to whomever reads this and takes the time to listen to my grumpy butt vent...

Not feeling good on pre op

DannyLu...I have had the same problems, today is day 2 of this liquid diet and I also have two kids, hence the member name...my husband has been away on business for just over 2 months....anyway, I was so dizzy earlier when I was driving I had to pull my car over to the side of the road...I passed out cold for like 3 minutes...I was scared, called my doctor, but it was too close to close of business...not sure what to do I've just been laying around feeling gross and lethargic....good luck I hope you feel better...Sorry I don't have any words to help I just wanted you to know I could identify with your feelings...
  4. Hello all March Melters..... :w00t: My surgery day is March 9th, It's been a very very long fight but I can finally see the light.....LOL.. I started my 2 week liquid diet yesterday, and found that I had to "modify" a little, I had and now again have such a terrible headache, so I added a little protein, 2x today... Basically it's been Adkins Advantage Shakes and Chicken Broth for almost 24 hours...I can do this I know I can...however this liquid diet is challenging...I'm up for it though.....Good luck everybody....

    Liquid diet time

ait- we have the same surgery date and I too started my 2 week liquid diet. I actually started yesterday for some reason i felt like starting a day early, bad idea......i had a very tough time getting through one day!So today is actually day two and I can not get rid of my headache...today I actually had some egg beaters... and finally my headache went away for 4 hours....of course it's back again. I am thinking I am going to have to modify this whole liquid diet plan a little....I'm going to need to work my way towards the full liquid thing....today i had 2 Adkins Advantage shakes, 20 oz. of broth, 1 Dannon Lite and Fit Yogurt shake thing, 6oz. of broiled tilapia and a sugar free popsicle...I'm hoping this isn't so bad, it's not totally liquid, but really I need protein. I had to pull my car off the road today because I was so weak and dizzy I thought I was going to faint. I am thinking and praying that I can work my way towards total liquid for most of the 2nd week and then clear liquid for 48 hours...I just can't deal with the headache....what do you think?:w00t:

Hey Sue-I'm kind of annoyed; usually when there is a "new reply" on this thread I get an e-mail notificaiton, this time I didn't, not sure why. Anyway I ended up driving my DH to the airport and then spending my day with my boys; they're a bit upset he's gone for the next two months. Anyway, today is my 40th birthday so we headed to Panera Bread for lunch and then caught a movie. I wanted to see Mama Mia so bad! The boys won though and we saw Star Wars the Clone Wars, its an animated flick, I should have remembered my ear plugs and my book! LOL! Anyway..today ended up being a nutty day. I agree, lets see what happens with Ike and whom ever else wishes to slam us with rain! Thank goodness for big generators and hurricaine shutters! I really don't know all that much about the one comming up now; guess I'll go of to the IHC and check it out. Keep in touch and may be we can shoot for a week or so from now??? Kerrie
  8. Do you have to have a "fill" by the doctor who did your lap band? I'm going to be attending a seminar to start the process the sugeon I chose requires, travel time will be appx. 45 min each way, I'm wondering if I should look into somebody closer??? Thanks, Kerrie:confused2:

Hey Sue got your message about time problems, Sat. mornings would be great for me. Do you have kids? If so we could also go to the playground on Kingsley if its not raining. I'll meet you there, just tell me what day and time and we should be all set. I can give you directions if you need them, basically over the Buckman Northbound on 295 then take 17 south, turn right onto Kingsley and just over the railroad tracks is a neat wooden playground. Let me know what you'd like to do. I love Starbuck and Panera too, as do my kids. Go figure! Talk with you soon......................Kerrie

Ok so even before I read the post from Irmabeck, I switched doctors only because I had my Gyno refer me to another group of surgeons closer to my home. Just yesterday I went to the Flemming Island Surgical Center for a day surgery procedure and I really liked this facility. Everybody was so warm and friendly, the fixtures were very posh and upgraded in every fashion possible. I had a great experience all over. My gynocologist who did my procedure yesterday is a part owner is this private facility, both the Bariatric Surgeons her refered me to also work out of this surgical center, so I'm quite pleased. I can say that my Gynocologist is the best doctor I have ever ever met as far as listening to his patience and his over all bedside manner; if he is referring me to a colleague of his and he knows me, I'm quite certain they will provide me with the same service. The Bariatric Surgeons names are Stankard and Brinkman. Anybody who reads this and has hear anything at all about the please message me. I have full confidence in my gyno so I'm not expecting any bad news. Just wondering if anybody has seen them before. Anyway, thanks for all the info and the alerts all. Have a blessed week then weekend. Kerrie
  11. Thank you for your kind comment; they are the light to my every day, they are now 10 and 6 and to this very day I still melt when I see them for the first time each day. There is no love like it, besides of course they are beauitful; they're mine! LOL! I guess I'm a little biased. Thanks again, kerrie

Wow! Sue you have come so far! I'd love to get together; you know I'm going to pick you brain for hours!!!! LOL, really it would just be nice to meet somebody in person who has been so successfull! Well, my schedule is pretty easy; I actually turn the big 40 on the 6th and have doctors appointments and my seminar of the 4th, my DH leaves to go overseas for 2 months on the 5th early am. So who's ready to meet on the 5th mid day?? I have another pre-banded friend who will be attending as well. I'm pretty sure this group will just be me my friend and may be one of you guys here, ie Kelly/Sue/perons who started this tread, can't remember her name....sorry........anyway, I was thinking Starbucks, (or may be even Panera Bread) but really are these not so good choices for those of you who have lost so much it makes my head spin??? Let me know what you want to do....kay? Kerrie
