  1. I am just wondering if anyone has tried drinking beer? I talked with my doc and he said I could but I need to understand that the gas will not release as quickly and can cause some discomfort. I have always liked to have a couple of drinks when I bowl on my weekly wed. nights and have always preferred my Bud light (always was a beer drinker :smile2:). I have been having a couple of uv blue with water and adding propel lemonade for flavoring which is very good but I am getting sick of them. I am looking for any other ideas on alcohol choices, which are low calorie (not alot of juices or carbonation), or your input on if you drank some beer and how it felt. Thanks

    Pre-Op Diet

I am not getting banded until August 7 and was told I need to have one week of preop but I do see my doctor on Friday of this week. I went to see a dietician and she suggested that I create my own Protein drinks that are better tasting. The recipes need to be blended and she suggested the magic bullet. The Protein Powder with an 8oz. serving has to have 200 calories or less, 15 grams of protein or more, 15 grams total of carbohydrates, less than 5 grams of fat. Here are a few recipes: Sunrise shake 145calories 8 protein 1 cup of skim milk 4 ice cubes 1 teaspoon of nutmeg 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 scoop of protein powder chocolate Chiller 195 calories 21 protein 1 cup skim milk 1 packet of sugar fee hot chocolate 1 scoop protein powder banana Dream 205 cal 18 protein 1 cup skim milk 4 ice cubes 1/2 banana 1 scoop protein powder Fruit punch Surprise 110 cal 21 protein 6oz crystal light or sugar free kool-Aid 4 ice cubes 2 scoops protein

    August Schedule

Not being able to have them few beers with the girls on bowling nights is going to be tough but the advantages of the surgery far out weigh the beer. Also I have a feeling the not drinking with the meal is going to be tough!
  5. Hello everyone! I started with the whole doctor visits and insurance stuff on June 20 and recieved the info that I was approved and will be banded on August 7th. The thoughts have been racing in my mind and I am very excited and scared at the same time. Food has always been a major part of my life and I am so looking forward to be able to contol my own life instead of food having control over me. I want to learn to have a healthy relationship with food and not feel hungry alllllll the time. I look forward to hearing from people that will be going through the process at the same time and also words of wisdom and advice are greatly appreciated from past experiences. Sarah

    August Schedule

If the cheeseheads were not so heavy the possibility of wearing it would probably be greater, which also includes the amount of alcohol that was in my body. Anyway I get that asked quite often! I am a season ticket holder and the tailgating rocks! What else do you have to do in the winter????:crying:
