I have had my Realize band for a little over 4 months and at the last fill I had, I had some pain around the port site. I noticed it had been bothering me some before I went. When the PA was pushing to find the port, I was very tender. The dr came in and of course had to push on the port site again - ouch! They put me on anti-inflammatories and antibiotics to see if it would clear up. Went back in last week and it was definitely better, but still had a smidge of pain on the right side of my port. They did have me stop running for a week to see if it would completely clear up the pain. I can't wait to get back to running again this week - I miss my exercise! I noticed after running I definitely could feel where the port was, not sure if the two are related?? That was a long story, but has anybody else experienced this? Has it gone away?

Kat~ I guess you only had one choice! Nice visual!! I don't know that I could have caught the darn thing! Glad that he found a home - never in my house, but I guess someone has to love em! When I was in college one of the girls in our sorority house had a pet snake - it escaped one night and we had to search for 2 days to find it. Ewww! I hate snakes! After she found him he went home to her house and we wrote up a new policy of absolutely no pets in the house! That was horrible!

Kat~ I am with Plain, I would be frozen in place and unable to move if I saw a great big ol' trantula - arachnaphobia (sp)! Eww! Michelle~ It was awesome meeting you early this fall. I enjoyed putting a face and personality to the online you that I feel I know so well! Fanny~ yeah on the PS! I hope that all goes well for you! You will be fine with the unfill - sounds like you are pretty focused on your weight goal. Wouldn't want to ruin that, so be strong, meet the goal, get the PS and be a more amazing you! We had a great Thanksgiving. It is nice not to eat until you go into a coma! I enjoyed just chatting with my family - we went to my parents house and my brother and nephew were there. My SIL and niece stayed home, she had to drive over the mountain and drive right back and we were supposed to get a snow storm, so she backed out. My brother was over here hunting so he stayed for dinner. Today we are doing turkey dinner at home. DH loves leftovers so we are making our own turkey dinner. So much food! DD is home from college, nice to have her back in the house for a few days! Miss having her around. Hope all of you that went shopping this morning survived!

Good morning everyone. I miss you all and thought I would check in and see how things are going.

GA~ Thanks for the fanny kick! So we got a weather warning for an Arctic front moving in, supposed to be down in the teens tonight, so no running. I ended up removing all the irrigation pipe, draining hoses and putting them away and mowing today. It had better be really cold tonight or I will be really mad!

Hey All! Been out for awhile - I miss catching up with everyone! Welcome to all the new runners! You are starting a great program. I have been a little lax on running lately - not good. The time commitment with school has been a bit overwhelming. I also really love trail running and it snowed last Sunday! Crazy! So a lot of the trails I run at higher altitudes are not so easy to run right now! I am going to try and get a good trail run in today and get back in the swing of things. Even if that means only running 3x a week. I need to hit the road and get over it. I will probably only do 3 miles today, it has been two weeks (can't believe I just said that!) since I last ran. Oh my - Kathy, GA - I need a swift kick in the fanny! Hope everyone has a great run today!

Bill you rock! I am so excited for you and yes, I will follow you on twitter! That is pretty cool that they are doing updates - how fun is that. I wish they would do that for marathons, my DH runs and it would be nice to know at what point he is so I know when and where to meet him along the course! I need to get my fanny back out and running. Starting school back up has put a cramp in my motivation. It has been hard to get out to the trails, so I just need to give it up and hit the road! DH and I are trying to get in a trail run today. We have the day off; had parent conferences yesterday evening, so we got the day! Yeah! We will try to run up high, but we have had snow, so not really sure where we will go until we head up the highway! Hope everyone has a great run! -
What will I not be able to eat???
krtork replied to purple3797's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Purple~ you are getting great advice from everybody! I would like to add that you are not only doing yourself a favor by investigating weight loss surgery, but you are doing your children a favor. When you lead a healthy lifestyle, your children learn to lead a healthy lifestyle. You will not be passing your bad habits on to your children. I only wish that I had my band placed sooner! -
Kathy~ Good luck and go for it! The adrenalin will push you along during the race. Also, don't forget to have some fun! Sounds like your reunion was fun! I was a band geek in high school - played the flute. I can't imagine even trying to play again, it has been sooo long!

Good morning. Hoping for a very low key day! A little bit of mowing and house cleaning, but nothing else on the agenda. DS is off with his best buddy to watch the Oregon game today. They should have fun! DD will be at the OSU game today. Hope she has a blast, it is their first Pac 10 game and all the kids are back at school - should be fun for her! Woke up to a ton of smoke, wish the wind would change directions. It is really annoying! I want to run, so I will see if the wind changes directions this afternoon and maybe head up to the mountains. Michelle - not sure exactly where the fire is, but it is coming from the south, think it is in the Gilchrist area.
-
Fanny~ Glad you had a great B-day! Sounds very romantic!
-
Michelle~ Racoons are scary - mean little buggers! They love Cheez-its and tried to attack DH and I many years ago when we were camping. Glad you and DD were able to sleep in a little. Crzy~ Hope you are feeling better soon! I do not want to get sick!!!! I'm handing out the Colorox wipes for the computers, wiping down the desks, hand sanitizer set out in strategic locations and handing out Kleenex as they walk through the door! Germs - ewww! Hair Color~ Scares me everytime I have it done, but I can't stand the gray! Suzy~ Have fun tonight at the jewelry party! PJTP: Good to see people joining in! Thanks for the hugs for the doggie! It was a long hard day and I am glad that it is Friday and we don't really have any plans this weekend. Spend some time lovin' on the other dogs and just relax. I am planning on a 5-6 mile run tomorrow. See how the weather is and what direction the smoke is blowing. We have been getting heavy smoke from a fire south of us, no fun to run and breathe that in!
-
PJTP: I will catch with all of you later. I had a very, very sad morning. I woke up to find our oldest dog had passed away! Very sad, going home from school at lunch to drop her off for cremation. Trying to figure out how to tell DD since she is off at school and I know that she will be a mess when she finds out - I don't want to ruin her first week! BBL!
-
Hey Ebony & CC! PJTP: Have had a very long week - I felt like it was Friday on Tuesday! Actually busted out and put in a run today, needed it more than I thought! Looking forward to tomorrow - one more day until the weekend! Oh yeah! We are home and have nothing on the calendar. Doesn't happen often this time of year! I am sad and miss my friends, so I am glad that you re-started this thread Ebony!I will keep checking in! Have a good one!

Kat~ Wow, now I feel like a wiener! You are so strong and seem to get through so much! You are my hero! We have been having really cold mornings too. It was 32 the other morning with frost on the fields - brrr! However, it has been about 80 everyday and is supposed to be 90 today! Fanny~ I love the hair. I have always toyed with going red, but have never taken the leap! I agree with Glouc, it seems like the bright colors always fade to that mousy brown. Hope you all have a great day! I had a couple minutes to check in this morning and will try to get back this evening! Hopefully no grading!

drive posting and now I am the winner!!!

Thanks Beth! It is not just a transition for the kids, but for the parents too! We have done so much together between the horses and sports I really didn't realize how much I would miss her. I am trying to be conscious of not putting food in my mouth to fill the void. OMG I am one of "those" moms - it has only been two days! Jeez!
-
She called! Relieved mom. She had to throw her old phone at the wall to break it open and get out the SIM card. Anywho! She had fun on her Engineering hiking/rafting trip and is back in her dorm. She met her roomie and they seem to get along. I can now breath and move on!
-
Ebony~ WTG! That is so awesome that you hit onederland! I bet you are flying! Keep on running! Kat~ Thank you for keeping us posted! Let Paula know that we are all pulling for her. An address would be great - would love to send a card. RM & KC~ Love the stories from kindergarten! Awesome - I was that girl too. Don't pick on kids, old people or animals, I will come unglued! KC~ Love the fact that you took that mom on! She deserved it. Poor girl, those ugly words will stick with her forever! Heart~ Sorry about the unfill! Hope you will get to feeling better. Keep us posted. PJTP: I have been absent and busy and trying to catch up! Wow! I hope this can all get worked out, I love coming to this thread and chatting with this group. I would hate to see people go and not return. On another note: So you know I dropped DD at OSU (go beavs! - right back at ya Brandy!) Her phone died as we were leaving so we got her a phone and told her to put her SIM card in it. Well, that didn't happen and we have not heard from her since Sunday and have no way of contacting her. I am sure she looked at the phone and saw that it said prepaid on the package and figured we grabbed her a prepaid phone and did not listen to her mother, when she said, "put your card in that phone and you are good to go!" Kids! Adding stress to my life! I miss her and just want to hear her voice. Ok, done whining!

Cathy~I would go to a running store and have them do a fit to see if there is a shoe that would work! Ebony~Onderland! Yeah! What an accomplishment. You are also doing great with the running. I have been trying to fit in runs when I can during the week. It has been really hot this past week and it has been hard to get up high to the trails and be home in time to pick up DS. Trying to get some mileage in, but not happy with what I have been doing. Hoping it cools down soon so I can just run right after work! -
Susan~ Love my nike+ for my running. I started using it this past spring and I track all of my runs. It is a good motivator and a great way to track your progress too! I like the "new" version on nike+, I have been using that when I go to the site. It is really pretty user friendly and easy to navigate. I like to sign up for a challenge or two. It is fun to look at your progress and a good motivator to put in some extra time while out running.

I'd wear them inside and point to the tag! Heck, I would make a shirt and wear it! Be proud!

Tap~ What a great NSV! Single digit clothes - WOW! Glouc~ What a relief. Sounds like you will be working with a great group of people - makes the job so much easier. And no princess! Crzy~ Welcome! Fish makes me gag! Beth~ Hope you are feeling ok, sounds like you tied one on last night! Heart~ Hope you are feeling better, sounds like the flu. It is horrible to get sick like that when you are away from home. PJTP: I have a DECA event today with the kids and we are having a water war and a huge slip n slide - I am going to go for it! Can't wait - it is on a hill and looks like so much fun! The FB boys did it a couple of weeks ago before school started and I just wanted to run out and join in, but thought better of it - DS probably would have been a bit embarassed. Haha, he will be there today! But now he is on my playing field! Took DD shopping for necessities last night. She was so funny. She didn't think of all the things that she just takes for granted, they just show up and she uses them. She was pushing the cart and I was following along, she got in the spirit of being a poor college student and was checking prices, etc. Aww, she is all grown up and I am going to miss her. Well, I better finish up some housework and get busy. Have to be at school to get set up and get the BBQ fired up for the parent meeting after we have some fun. Hope everyone has a great day!

Brandy~ Hope your knees are feeling better. Sometimes taking a couple days off is a good thing. I will usually have a really good run when I come back.
