It is a scam to take your money!!!!!

Did your doc give you an anti-nausea med? I always have some on hand just in case. My doc encourages us to have it so we don't vomit. I don't know if you are drinking enough Water, but sometimes you can get a headache from dehydration. I am just guessing, but I know it isn't any fun when you don't feel well! You will feel better! It does take awhile to get back on your feet, so give it some time! The things that helped me were sipping my water so I didn't dehydrate, walking to get the gas from surgery out of my system and I also found that I enjoyed warm broth - it went down well and felt good in my tummy! Best of luck!

Fruitflies, do they come in different flavors? I wish I had known about this when I got my band! Will they cause my lips to turn red???

Want to start running...need encouragement
krtork replied to Claudine1975's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Yeah! :thumbup:That is great that you will be able to participate in the same event. You and your wife are like my DH and I. I carry the car key, etc and he can't stand to have anything on him when he runs! -
You could carry the torch for me any time! That is a great essay! You are an inspiration for so many on this board, so don't forget that.

Okay, I am not an expert. Just making that clear up front! When we went to our running group last week we had a short talk about stretching from a physical therapist, who also happens to be a runner. She said that it is not necessary to stretch before the run. But she also said it is good to walk as a warm up for 3-4 minutes before taking off on the run. Reason being, the muscles are not warm and you could unintentionally strain the muscle. So, better to stretch at the end. So think of the muscle like a piece of spaghetti - it is stiff and brittle before it goes in the Water, when it comes out it is pliable. It is easier to stretch a warm muscle. Does that make sense? I have always done a short walk before taking off on my run, just like it suggests in the C25K, I think that has been great advice! Hope this helps!!!

Two issues: Time & Money!!
krtork replied to jlray's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You have several good suggestions. I would add planning. I try to do my major shopping one time a week - and stick to my list! It is very helpful because the food is in the fridge/cupboard and I don't have to think about what I am going to make. I may have to swing by the store for fresh produce or milk, but that is it. I am also a fan of the crock pot - through it in first thing in the morning and it is done when you get home from work at the end of the day. -
help!!!need some advice from the experienced ones

Grandma gave you good advice. The first part of this process is hard! You are healing from the surgery and you may not lose weight. When the swelling goes down around your band, you are wide open and you can eat almost anything, lovingly referred to as bandster hell! Make good choices, get in your Water and get your exercise in and you will be making a step in the right direction! Give it time. Try to stick to the plan that your doc gave you and wait for your first fill. That will give you some restriction, but don't count on it being perfect! It takes some work to get there, but if you follow the plan you will be well on your way to being a successful bandster! -
She said don't look at the picture! I am pretty sure dust would be considered a solid!

Thanks Slim! Wedding was really simple and nice. I only cried once. Her younger sister was killed in auto collision last year and she had flowers placed on a stand in honor of her as the maid of honor. It was a lovely tribute to her sister, but did not take away from her day! Hang in there, this plateau will pass!

Michelle~ Sounds like you had a great dinner last night! Don't you just love it when you can throw food in a pan and voila, dinner! I am not a big drinker either, but all the drinks sound so yummy, I might have to try a few just for the fun of it! Lu~ DH hates the Cowboys with a passion (he is a Chicago boy)- walked by and he was watching the game last night, which surpried me and I thought of you! Sounds like the new stadium is nice! KC~ Good luck with the root canal - not fun! DD goes in to get her wisdom teeth removed on Sept 3, she is not very happy! G4E~ Glad to hear from you! Will keep you and your BIL in my thoughts and prayers. PJTP: I am a bit sore today, but not too bad. Not sure I will go for a run tonight, but might take a nice walk, just to get the muscles moving! One of my former students is getting married this afternoon, so off to her wedding. DD is going with so we ran into Macy's to get her a dress, of course they are having a huge sale, so I had to try some clothes on!!! NSV - size 14 pants! Woo Hoo and they were comfortable. I need to try on my school clothes from last spring and make sure I am going to have something to wear! Better start getting ready! BBL!

Fanny~ Smokin' Hot! You look great! KC~ Tequila Sunrise it is. My DH will like that - "tequila makes her clothes come off", in my best singing voice - which is horrible! LOL!
-
Yo mamma must know my mamma!

Red itchy bumps = rash! Make sure you scratch them when they itch! Oh, and don't call your surgeon - he won't care! Go ahead and have hot, kinky sex - the sooner the better, especially if you are trying to get preggers!
-
Doesn't everybody use the whole chicken? What's kinky about that:tt2:
-
Passing boards sounds very painful. I hope she doesn't get any splinters! OUCH!!!
-
BBK~ I just saw this and I don't have any advice to offer because you have received some great advice already, but I do commend you for taking steps to get your DD out of there and a plan to get all of this documented. What KC said "Go get em girl!"

Still no word on the drink of the weekend???

I seem to always have multi pages going at once so I can facebook, farmville, farm town and LBT! I will be so sad when school starts and I can't play on the computer whenever I want!!! Guess getting paid is kind of important!

PJTP: So, my friend comes over this morning to ride my horse for me, yippy! He hasn't been ridden (the horse) in about 3 years and I didn't feel like getting on and getting hurt!! So i get him ready, Vaughn rides him for 20-30 minutes, trots, lopes and does everything pretty well for a 3 year break. So time for me to climb on (NSV - I climbed on without a stool, have not done that in about 15 years!) start riding, having fun, start loping - damn horse puts his head down and starts bucking! :ohmy:Lose my balance and hit the ground hard. Roll over on my back and start laughing because I can't believe that just happened! Finally get my old ass up off the ground and climb on and finish my ride. What are the odds of that! My left shoulder is killing me, my right hip is sore, I spurred my left leg with my right spur, I have a bruise on my right thigh from catching the horn on the way off and somehow I have a cut and bruise on my nose! Go figure. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

Great year!
-
Hey Slim! I'm up and can't sleep! I saw you waving so thought I would say HI!
-
What the heck! You should just stop picking on people! Because of you I just might go shave it all off. You have hurt my self-esteem and without your support I just might have to leave this place and never come back. You are a mean, mean person!
-
Thanks! I don't think I could do the squats! He had me give him a hair cut this afternoon. I asked him on the way into town, why the cut? So I could lose some more weight mom!!! He lost 1lb of hair! Goofy kid!
-
Duct tape - I will add that to my list of things to buy before surgery! Nighty, night!
