Carol~ Glad to help. Hope you can get out there tomorrow. Don't wait too long! Suzanne~ Yeah! Keep it up! So glad that you are able to get back on the road again. I was going to run yesterday, but ended up doing an 8 mile hike. It was really fun and a beautiful day. My fanny is sore, so walking up and down the hills was a good thing. Funny - a year ago I could have never hiked that trail and it was really pretty easy!

Lifestyle change - love it. It is hard for people to buy into the concept - they all want the magic bullet that just makes you lose weight with no work! I feel the same way, my lungs always burn and then coming back I find my rhythm and could run forever (well, kinda). Crossing fingers for the new job!!! Well, you can add me to the fan club! You should do the recipe. You could come up with a fun Lapband/WLS name that goes with food. Okay, the marketing wheels are turning. The creative always takes me awhile - if I come up with something I will let you know! Again, WTG! :sneaky::thumbup: PJTP: This morning I was going to go for a run with DH, but we woke up DD and she went on a nice long (8 mile) hike with me, while he ran 13 miles. It was a beautiful trail up to Green Lakes on the Fall Creek trail. DD took some great pics and I posted them on FB. I am so sore - my butt and feet hurt. It is 1100 foot climb from the trail head to the lakes! But it was so worth the work! I took one of my dogs with (Jackson) and he had a blast! All the new smells and splashing in the water - what more can a dog ask for? A Sadie Snack! Shout out to KC!! Well, DH finishes up at the Forest Service this week and we are back to work on Monday! Have a busy day tomorrow and I am sure I will crash tonight!

Erin~ Have you checked out the food & nutrition thread? There are tons of food ideas. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f82/mushies-stage-recipes-17637/

Jen~ WTG! What a great accomplishment! It's okay to brag, you should with what you have achieved!

TPG~ What self-control you have! WTG Girl! Just hang in there a few more days and it will all be good! Damn, we were trying to get away from you! Oh well, come to the dark side and get your FB account started! Michelle~ Yeah! I hope you had a great day! Duct tape and bailing wire are always on hand at our house, in the the truck and I hid some in the car - just in case of an emergency!!! Did not finish my list - oh well, it will have to wait until next summer.

Congrats on meeting your goal! Good luck with year two!

Okay~ I tried a spreadsheet that we could use. I think it would help me keep my focus! I always forget where I started and where I am going. http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0Ar2p_2TANdgMdHc5dXloeGtNWkVsTUYzUlFLRVktN2c&hl=en Can somebody try this and see if it will work? I made it so we did not have to put our weights, but the amount we lost.

I bet it is freeing to not be known as "the fat girl" or "the fat girl that lost a lot of weight". Kind of like starting over! I hear ya on meeting people that are overweight and seem so unhappy. I just want to run up to them sometimes and tell them that there is help, there is hope and something that they can do to help get them on the road to being healthy! But how do you do that?! I would have felt humiliated also, so I don't dare follow through with my urge to share:blush:

So sorry to hear about your family struggles with cancer. You are so right, it does suck!! (((HUGS)))

NO KIDDING! I think I want to punch her in the stomach!

Kat~ So glad that the party went well! That is a lot of family!! Wow. Susan~ WTG! What a great NSV! From reading the other comments, I think that every one of us cried when we were able to fit into normal clothes. It is such a great feeling. Funny though how the brain does not keep up with the body image. I still feel funny going to the normal section for clothes - I love trying them on, but it is so strange!! Oh well, I am not complaining!

I would love to participate!

Where does the motivation go?
krtork replied to jlray's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So sorry that you lost your friend. Try not to feel guilty, you are fortunate to have this time to refocus on your band. Look at it as a new day and a chance to make good choices and do something positive for yourself. It is hard to lose somebody that is close to you and it will take time for that hurt to heal. You might want to see your psychologist and work on some of the issues that you are having right now and with food. It could be very helpful for you. I know that I was not an exerciser, but I took the leap and made it part of my schedule and made it a habit. I sleep better, I feel better and I look better! You need to find something that you enjoy doing and start moving!! You will be glad that you did. I was in a plateau for the past 4-5 months and my weight just started moving again, it can be very frustrating. It sounds like you lost, but have not started gaining - so that is a plus! Build on that success and do something good for yourself!! -
Slim~ you should be able to log in and it will take you to your page. I will send you a PM on Facebook. I am not the most savvy, but once you get started it comes pretty easily!
-
Duct tape - oweee! Good luck with the fill! That has to be frustrating watching him take 5 bites and be done!

Forgot the 10 character rule!!!

Slim~ you will be up and rolling in no time on FB! It will be great to see you there! You will have to start farming:thumbup: DD has to have the valium, she has a huge fear of needles and I have had to tackle her in the doc office to get an IV in! Now remember that the girl is 6' tall and plays sports, she's no dainty flower. She was so nervous about being put under and having the IV she started tearing up and crying during the appt. So she gets a valium for the night before and 1 hour before she comes in. Teachers are back on the 31st and kids on the 8th. He may be envious, but he will be out earlier in the spring, when we are dying to get out the door!! Sports bras are not meant to be flattering! Unfortunately the uniboob helps control the bounce. I would suggest that you go get a nice new bra!!! It is amazing what it can do for the girls! BBK~ Sorry to hear about your DD, that is no fun when kids are sick. Try to get some rest! Hopefully she is feeling a bit better!

Ugh, too bad about the shoes. I found the same thing when I started trail running, I have to pick my feet up. I think I was just barely lifting my foot off the pavement. That could explain the two spills in the first week!!! At least you got a run and walk in today!
-
I wanted to turn back on my run before the end of the first mile! But just stuck with it, so I know that feeling:wink2: Glad you had a nice lunch! New doggie toys, I am in need of that! I was thinking that last night when the two youngest dogs were fighting over a tug toy! I would love to have a set up that made it easy to wash the pups! Of course, mine are all little, so they fit in the sink! And, yes I do bleach and scrub when I am done!!! A nap sounds nice - might try to fit that in.

On the subject of the wisdom teeth, I will remember to go get the pain meds before we go home. I have to pick up her valium a day or so before, so I will see if I can get the pain meds too! Save me a trip. Michelle ~ Yeah on DH being home! I bet DD was so happy this morning when you went to pick him up! Have a wonderful family day!!! TPG ~ Hope your party is great today! PJTP: Had a great run this morning. It was slow going after getting bucked off, but after the first mile I loosened up and did the 5.2 miles at a decent pace. Almost up to race distance! Yeah! I am now feeling lazy, but have a ton of stuff on my to-do list that never got done! One more week and back to school!!!!

Just make a new gmail account. I have one that I only use for logging on to some sites. That way it doesn't have the email that I really use - hardly ever check it to be honest! You can put the info on fb that you want and you are good to go. You don't have to list high school or college info. I don't think you have to sign up for networks either. FB is fun! I had all my former DECA students as "friends" when I first started now I am branching out to LBT friends and some high school friends. I also love farming - Diva got me into Sorority Life too!
-
Kathy~ that is great that you found a grass track - that will be fun for the kids to get to run with you! How long have you had the new shoes? Anyway to return them and see if you can get something else that will work??? Shoes are so spendy!!! I had a great 5.2 mile run today. It was a slow start, but I made it through the first mile and all the kinks worked out. I was bucked off my horse on Friday morning and landed hard - don't bounce like I used to!!!

Want to start running...need encouragement
krtork replied to Claudine1975's topic in Fitness & Exercise
WTG to you and your wife! It is great to have a PR! I did a 5.2 mile run today and it actually went pretty well. I was a bit concerned because I got bucked off my horse and hit hard on Friday. My hip and shoulder felt fine, however, the huge bruise on my thigh was giving me fits during the first mile, but I sucked it up and did the run. I felt great at the turn around and think I will do well on the 10K race - we ran the course again this morning. Hope everyone has a great run today!!!
