    Can Running Shift Band?

I would call your doctor and schedule a visit. Sometimes right after a run I am a little tight, depending on how hydrated I am, but I have always been able to drink and eat. I started running in October and I had some port pain, but never any pain with the band itself. The port pain did subside, but I did take a 2 week break to give my tummy some time to adjust and I haven't looked back! I hope you are feeling better and have been able to get back on the road!
  2. Karen~ You are so right. I had plump wrinkles and now I just have wrinkles. Just have to get used to it I guess! Try not to be too hard on yourself, you have come a long way and should be proud of your accomplishments! You could see a psychologist so you have someone to talk to about your new body issues if you think that would help. Sometimes it is good to have someone that will listen and not pass judgement, even for a few sessions. Blackcherry~ You are wise beyond your years girl! My DD has said to me that she always saw me like I am now and never realized how large I really was. She loves the new me and does not want me to go back - ever! Your mom has a great daughter!!! Melody~ Take a deep breath, grab your credit card and go to the normal size section and try on some clothes! Go by yourself so there is no pressure, but make sure you have your phone because you will want to call someone and say "You won't believe what size I just fit into!" It is such an inspiring moment to try on cute clothes that fit off the rack!! Don't even veer toward the plus section - you have had amazing weight loss and you are right at goal! Splurge and reward yourself! I still feel weird when I go to the normal clothes section. I think people are looking at me, saying, why is she here? But you know what, they aren't looking at me any more than I am looking at them. Again, I think it takes time to wrap your brain around the new you. I think we are all in the same boat and Jacqui has a good point. If you learn to live in your new skin for awhile, you will learn to love your new skin!

    What is wrong here??

It would be hard to stretch your pouch on liquids. Right now you are healing and the liquids will just flow on through. You did need to make sure you are following doctors orders and slowly move through your food progression. It is a real pain when you first start, because you really want to lose, you are hungry and can't understand why the darn thing isn't really working! Hang in there! It will most likely take a few fills before you are really feeling any long term restriction. So your job is to practice the rules you have been given by your doctor. Make a switch to a healthy lifestyle, make good food choices, and exercise. Make sure you are getting some movement in, even this early after surgery. Walking is always a great place to start! Don't give up on your band just yet, it will get better!

Sounds like she wants to be a family when it is convenient for her. That is too bad for Faith, she will remember that her grandparents didn't come and see her. Their loss! Focus on her healing and getting out of that dang hospital with the super gross looking food!!!
  5. Not too bad of a food day: B: 2 eggs, 2 slices turkey bacon S: 1 bite size snickers L: Ham, lettuce, peppers, onions, provolone - the inside of a sandwich (yummy!) S: Slice of Devils food soda cake D: Homemade pizza: sausage, pepperoni, olives, onions, cheese Exercise: 3 mile river trail run
  6. Silvers, I agree! Lu you could do a weightloss cooking show on Food Network! Oh yeah!!! Of course KC would have to join you, she is always in the kitchen whipping up something! You would make a great team!:frown:

18 months out and need advice

I agree, I would set up an appt with your doctor so you can let him/her know where you are at and get a solid assessment as to whether you need a fill or not. I am a year out from surgery and based on my weight I am eating approximately 1000-1200 calories per day. I am supposed to be getting in between 70-90 grams of Protein per day. I have to admit I usually struggle with getting in all of the protein, but I try. I track my food on The Daily Plate (Livestrong.com) and use that to help me know where I am at on a daily basis. It will also let you track your exercise and it is a great way to know if you are getting in the nutrition you need. I also agree about setting up a meeting with your nutritionist. They might have some great suggestions on how you can structure your meals and make sure that you are eating enough. Also make sure to check out the food and nutrition threads for good ideas and I also like the blog: theworldaccordingtoeggface.com Good luck with getting back on your journey, recognizing it is half the battle!
  8. What a great NSV! You should be doing the happy dance!

My heart goes out to you. It is hard being blindsided by his revelation. You are in my prayers. You are a strong woman and you will do what needs to be done to get through this! You can always vent and rant here as much as you need to! Make sure you keep up with your running, that will be a great stress reliever for you. It give you that alone time to think things through and release some energy.

I just don't know what to say to that - what a bomb to drop after all these years! :w00t: Is he having some underlying issues, besides the flirting, that could bring this on? ((((HUGS))))

I was so craving a soft serve cone as I scrolled down to your post! Weird! Okay, that was a random thought, but I just had to share. Absolutely love Nike, they have always fit my feet so well. I was really surprised when I got my Mizuno trail shoes, I never wear Mizuno, but I love them.

I have one rescue dog that is a garbage hound! She will break into anything to get food. We have pictures of her with boxes on her head running around the house. Now my male jack is starting to go for the garbage can in the kitchen. I have come home twice with garbage from one end of the house to the other. I think he and the grabage hound tag team on it! She hits the lid lever and he jumps up and drags out the food. They are pretty smart, hmmm!

I agree with both of you; people should not be giving anything to a child without asking the parental units before handing it over! Beth~ ewww! Drinking from bottles of unknown origin! OMG I would gag. Of course my DD is a germaphobe (sp) not so much when she was little, but since she was about 8 or so, won't use public bathrooms, hates touching doors, etc. This is a good thing, but it can be taken too far!!! ARGH!

Let me know how the 5-day pouch test goes. I have toyed with doing it in the past, but I have not taken the leap to actually do it! At least you can get on the scale!:crying: (stomping foot)

Okay, I am creeped out and I don't even want to know what you came up with!!! Good thing I didn't see it and forward my nekkid pictures!!! I haven't had my %body fat done for about 6 months, good suggestion.

Okay, I will use you as my inspiration! I was the same way pre-band, hardly ever got on the scale. Weird. I have to wait the whole 3 weeks. I will probably end up with one of the kids hiding it so I don't get on it! My surgeon reminded me that I did not have the surgery to hit a specific number, but to be healthy and get my life back. So he says - how many triathlons did you do before the surgery, me "uh, none", surgeon, "my point exactly!" If I need staying off the scale support you will hear from me!

TPG~ Damn girl you have had a day! Hope you are doing okay, I know it is disappointing, but I am sure everything will work out for the better. Beth~ Men are wussies! I hope DH is feeling better this afternoon. Sorry about the news on the job front - that is a major stressor! Poor pups! That is no fun. I have one with a super sensitive stomach and if he eats anything out of the ordinary it is coming up or spraying out! EWWW! I can't tell you how many times I have had to clean the carpets for mulitple days before he is feeling better. Michelle~ I so hope you can make the trip North - I would really love to meet you in person! But I do know how money issues change plans and you have to do what is best for the family. We live month to month and I don't know what we would do if one of us wasn't working right now. Thoughts and prayers go out to you! Ebony~ Hope the neck is better and yes I meant massage! Kind of like the kids that are going to collage! Always makes me laugh, when I see that!!! PJTP: Oh man did we have volleyball drama at school today. I bunch of the sophs and juniors were cut in favor of the younger kids. The new crop of froshs are really strong and the head coach is still in a program building phase, so the shit hit the fan when teams were posted! So glad that DD is graduated and did not have to be in the middle of it. I just supported coach because she made the right decisions but it will be miserable for the next two days and then life will go on! Saw my surgeon for my 1 year post-op. I have lost weight in the last couple of months since I was in last. I am have been playing some head games with myself and realize that it is old eating issues coming up and lurking over my shoulder! Damn head games! He is very impressed with the work I have done this past year. However, he wants to see me in 3 weeks. I have to hide the scale for the next 3 weeks - WTF! I am on the scale almost every morning, it is my crutch, but he is thinking not so much a crutch but a way to punish myself. I have to eat 3 full meals every day and have a high protein snack when I exercise. He thinks that I am not eating enough to fuel my body for the exercise that I am doing and that is part of the reason that I have had a major slow down. We will see. I have to work on getting this done and see if I lose weight when he sees me in Sept! OMG, I think I might go crazy without my scale. I am allowed to keep it until Friday, which I use as my official weigh in day. Okay, I know this is minor compared to what the rest of you are going through, but I needed to get it off my chest. Somebody out there needs to keep me honest! Hope everyone has a nice quiet restful evening and tomorrow brings new happiness and joy!

Beth~ Glad the surgery went well and DH has his pain meds! You need to get some rest! I always find it so exhausting to sit and wait at the hospital - stressful, as evidenced by the Ben & Jerry's! KC~ Sounds like all went well! Michelle~ Happy Bandiversary! That is the pits about the truck! I second, or third, the BBB, it takes it off your chest and you will feel like you did something about it. Don't worry about the vent. I am a crunchy/salt craver with stress too! It is hard - nobody said it would be easy. I agree with Beth, your weight could be related to the salt - I will retain water with the slightest hint of salt. Don't be too hard on yourself - think of all that you have gained this past year!!:tongue2: Lu~ I would drive the tractor and would love to mow - ah, it would be heaven! I am kind of a dork that way. I head out on our little baby lawn tractor, crank up the tunes and mow - peace, quiet (aside from the mower) and no interruptions! Plain~ Mall kiosik for your gyno station, nice, you would be strategically stationed to reach your target market, or would that be touch your target market?? Ewww! Ebony~ Hope the neck is better and you get some sleep tonight! A message may be in order! Suzyt~ stop lurking and join in! Hope you get some answers from your ultrasound and you get to feeling better! PJTP: I had too much stress when I went into school today. So not ready for summer to end!!! I need to wrap my head around work and get in and get busy - trying not to eat when I feel this way. I did have a scoop of ice cream tonight - now I need to get over it and move on. Ice cream is deadly for me, absolutely love the stuff.
