Diane~ I like the idea of logging your food in the morning and then making adjustments. I just might give that a try!
-
Mac~ you rock! How did it go??? I am excited for you, bet it was very exhilerating to finish! I am getting nervous and not sure if I can do mine in July.

I think you will find that as the weight comes off it is easier to move. Sounds like you are already feeling better with the initial 16 lbs! I would suggest that you start with walking extra steps each day, even if it means just walking down the driveway and back - you will start to feel better and stronger each day. Any movement that is beyond the normal day counts for exercise - heck, I get a super workout mowing the "hill" on our property. I have even found that I can garden and play in the dirt and get a pretty good workout. Before surgery I could last about 20 min weeding, etc and now I find myself outside for hours and really enjoying it. Embrace this as a lifestyle change, not a diet and you will be ahead of the game once you have the surgery. It is a lot of work, but well worth it! Good luck!

Bill~ WTG! I bet it felt great to finish strong! -
Kathy~ What a great NSV! You had to of felt great about that. Went for a bike ride today, planning on running tomorrow, need to put in a good 3 miles, I have been running about 2 pretty regularly this past month - need to push a little harder and get busy! One more week of school - yeah! My daughter graduated on Saturday, the rest of the kids have until Thursday this week. At least it will be fairly quiet without the seniors! LOL! Can't wait to have a few extra weeks to kick up the exercise!

Good luck with the 10K this weekend! That is one of my next challenges, still toying with the idea, haven't fully commited to it yet. I bet your old xc coach loved hearing from you, that is great that you looked him up! -

My dr did the first fill at 4 weeks and then scheduled every month. I am now at 6.5 cc and I have great restriction. I did skip a couple of months and have not been in for the last two months. I am still fairly tight in the morning, so I have yogurt or oatmeal for breakfast and can eat harder foods for lunch and dinner. -
I sprinkle my ADHD med on some applesauce, goes down nice and easy! I buy the little individual cups and I just recover it, usually lasts about a week.

That is great! I stayed at several of the weeks until I could comfortably get through them. Work at your own pace and you will be surprised at how quickly you improve and become a runner! -
I have found that the papaya enzymes work for me. But I have also found that the pineapple juice has also worked. I keep both on hand, just in case. I carry a bottle of the enzymes in my purse and have a can of pineapple juice at work. Better safe than sorry!

Malissa~ I started running when I was about 235, I was going to wait until I was under 200, but I just decided to go for it! I am so glad that I did! Go out and give it a try, see how it goes! -
Carol~ I got a watch that you can track lap times and also set a time to run to. I bet you could find something that is reasonably priced.

Claudine~ Go for it! I started the C25K this past winter and loved it. Don't worry that people are looking at you - they aren't! If they are running, they are thinking about their run and if they are your neighbors to heck with them! I just run on by and don't worry about it. Heck, you have to be lookin' great if you are down to 195! Turn on your podcast and get started, you will be so glad that you did! Keep us posted and let us know how your first run goes! -
WTG! I have been working toward a consistent 10min mile too, 12 is really great! Keep up the good work, the time just seems to shave off when you least expect it! Well - I am down 2lb this week. I went from 193 (my fav #) to 191! Woo Hoo! I hope my weight will keep moving down. My goal is to get another 40lb off, but I think that might be pretty aggressive. Have a great weekend!

Well, I am down 2 lbs, yeah. Please stick, please stick, please stick! Hope you all have a great weekend.

Awesome accomplishment! 30 minutes, that is great!

Flavorless protein powder to add to foods?
krtork replied to LindaD's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I like the Unjury flavorless. It tends to absorb and mix well. -
Does anyone eat fruit in this forum???
krtork replied to soocalchic's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I eat strawberries, raspberries or blackberries on my yogurt in the morning. Sometimes I will have 1/2 a banana on my cereal - but cereal hasn't been setting to well lately. Sometimes I will have an apple with Peanut Butter or cheese for lunch. I also like cantalope. -
Fanny~ Hang in there! Hopefully you can continue your walking/running routine. Suzanne~ Isn't it crazy how addicting exercising can be! You will be back at it, you have had such great success you will be impatient to get back on the road! Just remember that you will need to make a plan and recommit the time for exercise. That has been the hard part for me and I was only out for a couple of weeks. It feels good to be getting back in the routine - I am much easier to be around!!! I ran my first brick today for my tri. I already run pretty slow, but man was I slow when I climbed off my bike and took off running. Okay, it wasn't running it was slow jogging! I am sure I looked pretty funny, but I just waved at the neighbors and trudged on. I only had to run for 5 minutes, but it seemed like it was longer than that! Hope everybody was able to get outside and do something fun today - we had beautiful weather today with clear skies!
-
Well, the weather was great, so I decided to go for a ride and my DH wanted to go with me. We are usually on very different schedules and this doesn't happen too often, so it was a special treat to get to enjoy a great ride and the great views! The roads out by our house are hilly, but doable and we have great views of the Cascade Mountains, it was amazing! My guess is we did about 12 miles, my longest ride to date and I was loving it! I love going fast down the hills. We both agreed it was definitely more fun to ride the hills then to run the hills. I am also training for a tri, coming up in July, so I did my first brick today. It was short, only had to run for 5 minutes, but man, could I feel it! LOL, I don't think it was really running, more like a slow jog :scared2:

Pat~ Congrats! What a great accomplishment, you must be so proud!

It's baaack! Back up to 193 - I don't get it!!!! I keep exercising and eating right, who knows, my body just loves 193! -
Suzanne~ WTG! That is so awesome! First run this week was awful - thought I was going to die! Second run was pretty good, found my pace and was able to keep it up for 2 miles. Glad to be back out on the road, it really helps me destress from work!
-
I love, love, love to swim! I also love to run and I am learning that I love to ride my bike! Just being able to get out and do these things again has been great!
-
The weather is warming up and I am getting motivated again! I did a 5 mile bike ride on Sunday, ran for 2 miles on Monday and swam for 1/2 mile today! Ah, sweet, sweet exercise. I really do feel better when I get movin'! I plan on running again tomorrow, need to get my stamina back up.
